June 25, 2019 Incidents

Motor Vehicle Collision:

On the 25th of June, 2019 at approximately 10:30am a Motor Vehicle accident occurred in the area of the Home Depot. A 30 year old male riding his bike in the crosswalk and was struck by a vehicle, he received minor injuries and did not attend the hospital. He was charged with the related Highway traffic Act offence of Cyclist – ride in crosswalk, which is a $110 fine.

Also on the 25th of June, 2019 at approximately 2:50pm a Motor Vehicle accident occurred in the area of Millwood Ave in the City. This accident involved a silver Dodge car and a white Toyota Prius. Police are seeking a small blue car that was present in the area as a potential witness. If you are that person, or did witness this accident you are asked to contact Cst. Cause Disturbance:

On the 25th of June, 2019 at approximately 10pm police received a call about a disturbance in the south end of the city. Once there Police were greeted by a very intoxicated and out of control 43 year old male. He was arrested for cause disturbance and brought to cells. Once sober the male was released unconditionally.

 

School Bus:

On the 25th of June, 2019 at approximately 8:40 am, a complaint was received by a mother that lives in the center of town regarding a vehicle passing through a para-transport school bus. The bus had its lights and stop sign operating just about to load the ramp for the student. The licence plate of the vehicle was obtained, and the owner was charged with Fail to stop for school bus, which carries a $490 fine.

 

June 24, 2019 Incidents

Assault Police:

On the 24th of June, 2019 while at court a 27 year old female became upset as she was not being released from custody. Officers were attempting to restrain her, when she spat on one of them. She was charged with Assault Police and remains in custody for her bail hearing.

On the 24th of June, 2019 at approximately 11pm, Brockville Police responded to an address in the North End. It was learned that a 31 year old male had assaulted his mother. There were no injuries. Officers attempted to take control of the male and arrest for the assault, where he resisted. Officers were able to gain control of him, he was taken to the station for processing. He was released with a future court date for the charges of assault and resist.

 

June 23, 2019 Incidents

Weapons/Warrants:

On the 23rd of June, 2019 at approximately 1pm, Brockville Police received a call regarding a female smashing a truck with a baseball bat in the city’s south end. The 22 year old female was located at the residence and arrested without incident. She was charged with mischief, weapons dangerous, and breach of undertaking. She was released with a future court date, and turned over to Smiths Falls Police as they had outstanding charges for her.

 

Fraud/Impersonation:

On the 23rd of June, 2019 at approximately 5:30pm, a call was received to attend a Bank in the City’s north-end where a suspect was confronting customers asking for them to deposit a cheque for him as he had lost his bank card. This seemed suspicious to these customers and contacted the Police. Upon arrival the male provided a false name and fled on Police, he was caught a short distance away. His true identity was established and the 29 year old male was charged with fraud, impersonation and obstruct, as well as a Conditional Sentence Breach. He will await in custody for a bail hearing.

June 21 – 23, 2019 Incidents

Since Friday June 21, 2019 at 7:00p.m. to Sunday June 23, 2019 at 3:00p.m. the Brockville Police Service has received approximately 70 calls for service. These include domestic disputes, mental health apprehensions, executing warrants for individuals failing to attend court, locating intoxicated persons and persons in possession of drugs. Of these incidents the following are of note.

Domestic Related Bail Breach

On June 21, 2019 at approximately 7:00p.m., the Brockville Police Service investigated information of a 42 year old, local male, who is in breach of his bail conditions in the South area of the City. The male was on conditions of bail to abstain communication with the victim. It was found that the two were together. This breach presents a significant safety concern for the victim. Officers did observe the two communicating. Shortly after the accused was located and arrested and held for a bail hearing.

Drugs

On June 23, 2019 at approximately 3:30a.m., the Brockville Police Service performed a traffic stop in the North area of the City. The local, 30 year old, male driver was found to be in possession of multiple syringes filled with substances believed to be Methamphetamine. He was arrested and charged with possession and the substances have been sent away for analysis.  

June 19 – 20, 2019 Incidents

Mischief:

On the 19th of June, 2019 at approximately 9:00pm Brockville Police Received a call from a residence in the south end of town reporting their 24 year old son was destroying the house. He was located a short distance away where he was arrested for mischief, utter threats, and breach of probation. He was released with a future court date.

Bail Violation:

On the 19th of June, 2019 the John Howard Society (who is an organization that monitors accused persons while they are out on bail) contacted the Brockville Police reporting that a 31 year old female is not abiding by her residence condition. She turned herself into the Brockville Courthouse on the 20th of June, 2019 where she was held for another bail hearing. The original incident stems from Domestic related assault charges.

Domestic/Warrants:

In February 2019 a 42 year old male was arrested for domestic related occurrences. He was released from custody and had attended several court dates. Up until June 17th he failed to appear. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and was arrested on June 20th, 2019. He will be held for a bail hearing today on June 21.

Mischief:

On the 20th of June, 2019 at approximately 8:30pm in the south end of town a 38 year old female was arrested for possession of property and mischief. Information from the caller is that she had broken into his residence and stole most of his belongings. She was released with a future court date.

Missing Person Located:

Brittany Brown who was previously reported missing on June 20th has since been located safe and sound, we appreciate all the help we received.

June 17 – 18, 2019 Incidents

Wanted Person:

On the 17th of June, 2019 at approx. 12:30pm, while on general patrol officers from the Brockville Police Service located a 20 year old female that was known to them to be wanted for a Breach of Probation Charge. She was arrested and released with a future court date.

 

Shoplifter:

On the 17th of June, 2019 at approximately 7pm we received a call from a north end store regarding a shoplifter in custody. The 65 year old male was located and arrested for the theft. He was released with a future court date.

June 16 – 17, 2019 Incidents

Mischief:

On the 16th of June 2019 at 2:29 a.m. police were called by a witness who observed what they believed to be an intoxicated male exit a downtown establishment and enter the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Fearing that the 19 year old male may drive away the witness called police. Officers located the male in a running vehicle. He was arrested for care and control of that vehicle while being impaired. He provided two breath samples of nearly double the legal limit.

 

Theft:

The Brockville Police Service is investigating the theft of 7 vehicles from 1000 Islands Toyota on Stewart Blvd. The vehicles were taken sometime overnight from the 14th of June to the 15th. (BROCKVILLE, ON) The Ontario Provincial Police-led Biker Enforcement Unit (BEU) and Brockville Police Service executed search warrants on two residences in Brockville on June 12, 2019. As a result, two individuals were arrested without incident. Six other individuals were also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

A number of evidentiary items were seized as a result of the searches including suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone, morphine, Canadian currency, hydraulic cocaine press, Red Devils MC clothing, Hells Angels MC support clothing and a prohibited weapon.

Justin ROGERS, 36-years-old from Brockville, has been charged with:

  • Possession for the Purpose CDSA 5(2) Cocaine;
  • Possession for the Purpose CDSA 5(2) Morphine;
  • Unauthorized Possession of Prohibited Weapon or Prohibited Device CC 92(2);
  • and Firearm or Weapon: Possession Contrary to Prohibition Order CC 117.01(1)

Steven OSBORNE, 51-years-old also from Brockville, has been charged with:

  • Possession for the Purpose CDSA 5(2) Cocaine;
  • Possession for the Purpose CDSA 5(2) Morphine;
  • Unauthorized Possession of Prohibited Weapon or Prohibited Device CC 92(2);
  • and Firearm or Weapon: Possession Contrary to Prohibition Order CC 117.01(1).

June 12 – 14, 2019 Incidents

Warrant:

On the 12th of June 2019 at 6:00 p.m. officers from the Brockville Police Service and the Biker Enforcement Unit (BEU) conducted a search warrant at 26 William St. apartments 3 and 4. As a result of the search warrant 8 people have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance. A quantity of morphine and cocaine was recovered at the scene. Justin Rogers, 36 years old and Steven Osborne, 51 years old both of 26 William St. have been held in custody pending a bail hearing. Rogers was a former member of the Red Devils Motorcycle Club (MC).   Paraphernalia from the Red Devils MC and the Crooked Clan MC were located in the apartments.

 

Bail Violations:

On the 14th of June 2019 at 12:57 a.m. members of police responded to a complaint of a male with a firearm at an apartment on King St. The complainant indicated that the 40 year old male was in her apartment heavily intoxicated. She contacted police about the firearm and the fact that the male was breaching a court ordered condition not to consume alcohol. Officers located the male and arrested him for breaching the order. The firearm was located and discovered to be a pellet gun that was built to resemble a military style assault rifle. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

Theft:

Sometime overnight from June 11th to June 12th it is believed a lone suspect broke into the ATM at 115 Broome Road “Wally Wash”. The suspect was captured on CCTV (see below) and police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying him. June 10 – 11, 2019 Incidents

Assault:

On the 10th of June at 11:00 a.m. police responded to a domestic incident on Buell St. A 23 year old female had assaulted her ex-boyfriend as he walked by on the street. Police were called, investigated and charged the female with one count of assault.

 

Drugs:

On June 10th at 12:15 a.m. a 37 year old male was arrested for his outstanding warrant from Ottawa. The male was located in the area of the train station on Perth St. A search incident to arrest led to charges of being in possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). He was released at the scene with a future court date.

 

Stolen Vehicle:

On the 10th of June at 5:30 a.m. the Brockville Police were alerted to a theft of a Dodge pickup truck from Moss Auto Body on Downer St. The suspect in the theft used that truck to break through the fence at the compound. The truck was recovered a short distance away. A suspect was identified and later arrested for the theft of the vehicle. The suspect that has been charged in this incident is the same 22 year old male that was arrested for the theft of the school bus last week.

 

Drugs:

On June 9th at 2:00 a.m. two persons were located going through the donation bin at the 2nd Time Around store on Parkedale Ave. A 36 year old female was charged after she was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and LSD.   The property from the store was returned to the bin. The male that was with her was not charged in this incident.
