November 19 – 22, 202 News Release

Domestic Dispute

On November 19, 2022 at about 1:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received a call regarding a domestic dispute. Information was that a 55-year-old male was in an argument with his girlfriend in the area of Broadway Ave., over taking care of a dog. During the argument, the male threw his cellphone at the female striking her in the face. The male was agitated with officers investigating the incident. He also made comments that he was going back to his residence to kill himself in front of her. The male was arrested for assault with a weapon. Further investigation revealed a historical incident from earlier in the year. As a result he was additionally charged with assault cause bodily harm. He was held for a bail hearing.

 

Bail Violation

On November 19, 2022 at about 9:30, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint regarding a male not abiding by his bail conditions. It was discovered that a 47-year-old male had attended to the Youth Arena on Broadway Ave. While there, he made contact and communicated with a female he was on undertaking conditions to abstain from communicating with. Officers located the male at a later time and placed him under arrest for fail to comply with undertaking. He was charged and released with a future court date.

 

Shoplifting and Drugs

On November 20, 2022 at about 8:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a shoplifter at the Super Store on Parkedale Ave.  Loss Prevention Officer observed a 27-year-old male, concealing items in his jacket and then enter into the washroom. Officers located the male in the washroom and found him to be in possession of fentanyl as he was about to use the substance. He was arrested for theft under $5,000.00 and possession of fentanyl. He was charged and released with a future court date.
