Theft
On the 16th of October at 2:43 pm., Brockville Police attended one of the box stores on Parkedale Ave. for a theft complaint.
A 58 year old female, from the Brampton area, had been apprehended by store security for shoplifting.
Police charged the female with theft and released her with a future court date.
Breaching Conditions
On October 17th at 1:21 in the morning, Brockville Police received a call about a male party possibly in need of assistance on a south end street.
Police attended the area and located a local, 19 year old, who was very intoxicated and staggering onto the roadway at times. The young man was also found to be on conditions for outstanding criminal charges. These conditions included a curfew and no drinking alcohol. He was arrested and charged with not following his conditions. Once he was in his jail cell for the night, he decided to smash his head against the cell bars. As a result, he was taken to hospital for medical attention.
Now, all fixed up, he will appear in court later this afternoon to determine whether or not his release is granted.
Breaching Conditions
On October 17th at 3:10 in the afternoon, Brockville Police officers stopped a vehicle on Stewart Blvd.
The 52 year old, female driver, from Brockville, had a male passenger that she was not allowed to have contact with as she was accused of assaulting him. She also had a condition not to consume alcohol. Police noted she had been drinking and registered a “warn” on a roadside device which resulted in a three day licence suspension. There was also no insurance on the vehicle, which was towed.
She was arrested and charged with breaching her release conditions. Her release took place later and a new court date was issued.
Domestic Dispute
On Friday, October 16th around midnight, a 22 year old, Seeley’s Bay man, attended his ex-partner’s residence in the south end of the city.
A verbal exchange took place when the male was refused entry into the home. He then proceeded to punch his ex in the nose and the side of the head. The 26 year old, female victim, suffered non life threatening injuries. The accused returned to the residence the next day and stole a phone from the victim and assaulted her again. He fled the area in his vehicle. On the 18th of October at 2:30 in the afternoon, the accused was located and arrested.
He will appear in bail court today and faces charges including, two counts of assault, theft and failing to comply with his probation order. The probation order was as a result of past convictions for assault against the same victim.
Unlawfully at Large
On October 9th, 2015, staff of the Brockville Jail contacted the Brockville Police in regards to a male who had failed to show for his weekend sentence. On October 19th, the local, 31 year old, was arrested and charged for being unlawfully at large. He will appear in bail court today.
