October 18 – 19, 2016 Incidents

Break and Enter

On October 18th at 2:15 pm, Brockville Police took a complaint of a break and enter to a south end apartment.

The victim indicated the event took place sometime over the weekend but he was reporting it two days later.  Electronics and small appliances were taken and the apartment was “tossed”.  Officers gathered what evidence they could after the fact.

The investigation is ongoing as to suspects.

 

Warrant Execution

On October 18th at 6:04 pm, Brockville Police arrested a local 51 year old man after he turned himself in for an outstanding warrant.  The subject failed to attend the station to have his fingerprints taken earlier in the month.  His prints now obtained, he was released on the charge for failing to attend and given a new court date.

 

Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle

On October 19th at 2:38 pm, Brockville Police attended the Thousand Islands Secondary School after a student was struck by a vehicle.

The local 14 year old male youth, stepped out from between two buses on Parkedale Avenue heading south and was struck by an east bound vehicle.  He was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

There are no charges being laid on either party.

 

Mental Health

On October 19th at 4:59 pm, Brockville Police received a call from a local woman concerned her mother was in crisis.

The local 58 year old informed her daughter she had swallowed a quantity of pills from a recent prescription.  Officers checked her residence without success.  Investigation led Officers to a south end church where mom was taking part in a group activity.  She informed Officers she made the comments to obtain attention from her daughter and had no intentions of hurting herself.  She was spoken to about the consequences of making these types of statements.

 

Motorcycle Cut Off

On October 19th at 6:05 pm, Brockville Police attended a Stewart Blvd. intersection to investigate a single motor vehicle accident.

A local 71 year old man was operating his motorcycle south bound on Stewart Blvd. when he was cut off by another south bound vehicle attempting a lane change.  The man lost control of the bike while trying to avoid contact.  He then slid for a distance on the paved surface.  Paramedics took the man to hospital for treatment of unjuries to his upper and mid torso.

The accident is still under investigation in regards to charges.

 

Warrant Execution

On October 19th at 11:24 pm. Brockville Police, on general patrol, observed a local 25 year old man riding his bike on a north end street.  Officers knew the man was wanted for failing to attend for his fingerprints for charges before the courts.  He was arrested on the strength of the warrant and released shortly afterwards with a new court for the new charge.
