Warrant

October 23, 2020 at 5:06 PM – A 23 year old female was arrested by the OPP in Prescott for a probation warrant that our service held.  She was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Motor vehicle collision/sudden death investigation

October 23, 2020 at 4:55 PM – On Friday evening the Brockville Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on the east bound on ramp for Highway 401 at Stewart Blvd.  An elderly female was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The incident is not considered suspicious, but remains under investigation.  The vehicle drove over the embankment at the rear of Food Basics onto the highway.  The name of the deceased will not be released.

Theft

October 24, 2020 at 1:25 AM – K-9 makes his arrest.  Early Saturday morning the Brockville Police service was contacted in regards to a theft in progress.  The caller stated that a male was going through vehicles in the area of Pearl St. West and Maple Street.  K-9 Diesel tracked the suspect to a backyard on Pearl St. where the 21 year old male was located and arrested.  Officers located a large knife at the scene of the arrest.  The male was charged with theft, weapons offences and trespass by night.  He will appear in court at a later date.

Domestic/warrants

October 25, 2020 at 12:08 AM – Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the city’s north end on Sunday morning.  When officer arrived at the residence they located a 38 year old male who was in the residence with his spouse.  The male was arrested on warrants for mischief that originated in 2019 at the Bull’s Eye restaurant.  The male had broken a window and was charged with mischief at that time.  When the male failed to show up for subsequent court appearances a warrant was issued.  He will appear in court at later date to answer to the charges.

Impaired/motor vehicle collision

October 25, 2020 at 1:40 AM – A 48 year old female was arrested for impaired operation of a conveyance after she crashed her vehicle travelling west bound on Brock St. She mounted the north sidewalk and struck a van parked in a driveway launching it into the neighbour’s yard. This impact deflected her back across the roadway to the south side of brock where she again left the roadway and severed the hydro pole at its base before coming to rest on the lawn of a residence on Brock Street.  She has been charged with impaired operation and will appear in court at a later date.

Impaired/motor vehicle collision

October 25, 2020 at 5:18 AM – A 30 year old female has been arrested and charged with impaired operation and drive with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol after being involved in an accident on Sunday morning.  Officers responded to a report of an accident on Schofield Avenue as the vehicle she was operating struck a parked vehicle causing the air bags to deploy.  She will appear in court at a later date.

Bail violations

October 25, 2020 at 1:10 PM – officers were called to a residence in the center of the city in response to a domestic incident.  A 49 year old male was arrested at the scene for breaching a bail condition for being at the residence.  The male was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Officer injury

October 25, 2020 at 10:13 PM – officers attended a residence at the Balmoral apartments to serve documents on a subject.  As the officers arrived they began speaking with a 40 year old resident of the apartment when his dog exited and latched on to an officer.  The officer was treated at the Brockville General Hospital and later released.
