Fire on Adley Drive
Officers from the Brockville Police Service responded with other emergency services personnel to a house fire at 307 Adley Street at approximately 6:20 p.m. last evening.
Police closed off area streets and interviewed witnesses while firefighters from the Brockville Fire Department battled the structural fire at the residence.
The fire appears to have started in the garage of the residence and is not believed to be suspicious in origin. Members of the Brockville Fire Department Fire Prevention office continue their investigation into the cause of the fire.
Unwanted Person
A 51 year old Brockville woman was arrested last evening for being intoxicated in a public place after she left her ex-boyfriend’s residence on Central Ave.
Officers from the Brockville Police Service received a call from the ex-boyfriend that the woman was currently outside his apartment door and refusing to leave. She had attended to the apartment and was upset when she had learned the relationship between them was over.
When officers arrived they found the woman in the parking garage, and under the influence of alcohol. She was uncooperative with officers who attempted to speak with her and resolve the situation. As a result she was arrested for public intoxication and taken into custody and released when was sober with a provincial offences notice.
Quiet Halloween in Brockville
It was a quiet in Brockville with only 22 calls for service in the 24 hour period from 7a.m. on Tuesday to 7a.m. Wednesday morning, with only 8 calls for service after 6 p.m.
Included in those incidents were 2 theft complaints and 2 complaints of an unwanted person to be removed. There were no criminal code arrests and only one arrest under the Liquor Licence Act.
