October 9 – 12, 2015 Incidents

Harassment

On October 9th at approximately 12:50 pm, Brockville Police attended a north end apartment complex for a complaint of harassment.

A local, 29 year old female, complained to Police of unwanted, continual contact from her ex-husband. The local, 30 year old male, is now wanted by Police for criminal harassment and breaching his probation order. The probation order is not connected to charges against his ex-wife. When arrested and charged, he will face a bail hearing.

 

Family Dispute

On October 9th at approximately 4:00 pm, Brockville Police attended a north end apartment complex for a family dispute.

A local, 17 year old male, assaulted his mother by punching her in the head and shoving her around. He left before Police arrived at the apartment. He was located a short distance away and arrested for assault and breaching conditions of an outstanding undertaking.

The 40 year old victim, suffered minor injuries and did not require medical attention. The young male will appear in bail court.

 

Unlawfully at Large

On October 9th at approximately 9:00 pm, Brockville Police received a complaint from the Brockville Jail of a male being unlawfully at large.

A local, 26 year old male, failed to attend the jail for his weekend sentence. He will now have a warrant for his arrest and a bail hearing when dealt with by Police.

 

Breaching Conditions

On October 9th at approximately 10:25 pm, Brockville Police were on foot patrol in the area of a bar on King Street.

Officers observed a 56 year old male in the establishment, who they believed was on conditions of an undertaking that included no consumption of alcohol. Police began to approach the male, he observed them headed in his direction and fled on foot through the back door. The male, who had been drinking, was arrested behind the building and charged with failing to comply with his undertaking.

He was held in custody and will appear in bail court.

 

Licence Suspension

On October 10th at approximately 1:40 pm, Brockville Police stopped a vehicle on a north end street for traffic offences.

The driver, a local, 28 year old female was warned for possessing a small quantity of a controlled substance. She also registered a ‘warn’ on a roadside screening device and had her licence suspended for three days.

She was released at the scene after being issued traffic tickets.

 

Shoplifting

On October 10th at approximately 2:45 pm, Brockville Police attended a department store on King Street West for a shoplifting complaint.

A local, 28 year old female, was arrested and charged with theft. She was released at the scene with a future court date.

 

Assault

On October 10th at approximately 8:40 pm, Brockville Police attended an apartment complex in the south end of the city.

A local, 61 year old male was complaining of being assaulted by a group of three men. The victim indicated he had been assaulted twice in the last 24 hours but was afraid to report it to Police. He also would not identify the other two males and would not attend the hospital for treatment.

In the first assault, the victim indicates a knife was held to his throat and his safety threatened. In the second assault, the victim had his arm restrained and he was hit in the hand with a hammer. There were injuries sustained to his fingers.

Police arrested a local, 31 year old male. He has been charged with assault with a weapon, assault, uttering threats and being unlawfully in a dwelling house. He will appear in bail court.

 

Assault

On October 12th at approximately 11:50 am, Brockville Police attended an apartment complex on King   Street West after an assault complaint.

The resident of the apartment, a 24 year old male, awoke to his girlfriend’s mother and her son making a lot of noise. When he told them to keep quiet, the 47 year old female, kicked the victim. Her 27 year old son, then attacked the victim and punched him numerous times in the head. The victim suffered minor injuries but did not receive medical attention.

The female and her son were both arrested for assault. The parties were released on conditions and given a future court date.
