Fraud

A 34 year old Brockville woman was arrested late yesterday afternoon after she had cashed a stolen cheque at a downtown ATM machine. Yesterday afternoon the victim, another Brockville area woman attended to the Brockville Police Headquarters after she discovered usual activity on her bank account while making a purchase. Making some inquiries, the victim discovered a cheque written on her personal account which she had not written and provided this information to the police. With this information the suspect was identified and located arrested for the offence of fraud. She was released on a Promise to Appear with a March 17th court date.

 

Stolen Vehicle Recovered

The white 2004 White Acura which was reported stolen on Monday evening has been recovered by Leeds County OPP near Elgin. Officers report the vehicle had left the main road and had suffered damage prior to being abandoned. At present the vehicle is being towed to a local facility where the Brockville Police Identification Unit will conduct a Forensic examination.

 

Mischief

An Athens woman had her front tire slashed while shopping at Wal-Mart yesterday afternoon. The woman parked her vehicle in the Wal-Mart parking lot at approximately 4pm and went inside to do some shopping. When she returned she discovered her front passenger side tire had been slashed and she contacted police. Weather

Despite yesterday’s storm and poor road conditions in many places Brockville Police responded to only 2 minor motor vehicle collisions with no injuries.
