It was a busy September Monday for the Brockville Police with 50 calls for service over the 24 hour period which included four arrests under the Criminal Code and one apprehension under the Mental Health Act.
Domestic Charges
At approximately 10 a.m. Monday morning Brockville Police were contacted to attend a north end residence for a domestic disturbance complaint. While at the residence, investigating officers spoke with the victim who disclosed other domestic related incidents which had occurred earlier this year between the couple.
As a result of the disclosure, attending officers arrested a 39 year old Brockville area man for domestic assault and mischief in relation to those previous occurrences.
Breach of Release Conditions
Brockville Police were called to the gazebo at Hardy Park at approximately 10:30 yesterday morning to assist EMS on a report of a male passed and unresponsive. When officers arrived, they learned EMS attended and was no longer required and the 22 year old man walking away from the park with a female whom he is on a release order not to communicate with. As a result he was arrested for breach of his release order and brought into custody pending a bail hearing later today.
Traffic Stop leads to Suspended Driver charges
At 3:20 a.m. this morning Brockville Police stopped a black Mercedes travelling at a high rate of speed through central Brockville for speeding. The driver identified himself as a 39 year old Brockville area man and it was learned he was a suspended driver.
As a result, he was charged with speeding as well as driving while under suspension. In addition the vehicle he was operating was towed from the scene and impounded for 45 days.
