Shoplifter

On September 21st at 2:30 pm, Brockville Police attended a north end box store in regards to a male shoplifter.

The 40 year old suspect, from the Hawkesbury area, removed a large quantity of razor blades and hid them on his person. While Officers were obtaining details from store security, the accused ran out another exit and a foot pursuit began. After running through the lots of several businesses, the man was caught in the front lawn of a facility on California Avenue.

Investigation revealed the same party had been charged by the Russell area OPP for similar offences and there was a dated warrant for theft as well out of Quebec. The accused was released later in the day after being charged with theft. He was given a future court date and had to deposit $400.00 before leaving Brockville.

 

Shoplifter

On September 21st at 3:30 pm, Brockville Police attended a second box store on Parkedale Avenue in regards to a female shoplifter.

The local 49 year old was approached by store security after leaving with numerous items and making no attempt to pay for them. She was released soon after from the scene and given a future court date.

 

Shirt Required

On September 21st at 9:02 pm, Brockville Police attended a downtown bank after a report of a man behaving strangely.

Police spoke with a local 48 year old who was wearing flipflops but nothing else. He was resting on a bench outside the bank and appeared in great spirits. Officers learned he was a resident of a south end mental health group home. The subject was in no danger so he was returned to the home and given advice about covering up bathing suit areas when venturing out in public.
