September 4 – 7, 2015 Incidents

Breaching Conditions

On September 4th at approximately 1:40 am, Brockville Police on general patrol in the King Street West area.

Police observed a female party, known to Police, who was on numerous release conditions. While speaking with her, Police noted a smell of alcohol on her breath. The local, 19 year old, was arrested and charged with breaching her conditions. She will appear in bail court.

 

On September 4th at approximately 11:00 pm, Brockville Police were on general patrol in the south end of town.

Observed two parties walking together who were both on bail conditions with conditions not to associate with one another. The local, 21 year old male and 18 year old female now face charges of breaching their release conditions. They have yet to be dealt with by Police.

 

Assistance Call

On September 4th at approximately 7:20 pm, Brockville Police received a complaint of a female yelling for help at the rear of a north end restaurant.

Police located a parrot in the back shed of the building that was mimicking different human expressions. An employee from the restaurant had left the parrot in the shed while finishing their shift.

 

Unlawfully at Large

On September 4th at approximately 9:00 pm, Brockville Police attended the Brockville Jail for an inmate that failed to show for his weekend sentence.

The local, 46 year old, was located and arrested later in the weekend. He was charged with being unlawfully at large and will appear in bail court.

 

Family Dispute

On September 5th at approximately 8:00 am, Brockville Police attended a residence in the south end of the city for a family dispute.

Police spoke to a female resident who was complaining of an assault and threats from her brother. The local, 59 year old, is now wanted for assault and utter threats. At the time of this report, he had not been located. There was no medical attention required for the victim.

On September 5th at approximately 6:25 pm, Brockville Police were on general patrol on Buell Street.

Police observed a male party, known to Police, who was on probation conditions. The local, 15 year old, was with a group of youths, one of which he was to have no contact. He was arrested and charged with breaching his probation and released to a parent with a future court date.

 

Disturbance

On September 6th at approximately 1:50 am, Brockville Police responded to a disturbance at a bar on King Street East.

Two local males, 21 years of age, were drawing attention to themselves and failing to follow direction. One of the males was arrested for public intoxication and the other male was arrested to prevent a further breach of the peace. The latter male, while in cells, decided to try to damage lighting systems and cut himself. He was informed of a new charge of mischief and released later with a future court date.

 

Impaired Driving

On September 6th at approximately 2:30 am, Brockville Police dealing with a complaint on James Street East when they noticed a vehicle being driven in a strange manner.

The vehicle was stopped and the male driver failed a roadside screening device after supplying a breath sample. He was arrested for operating a motor vehicle over the legal limit and taken to the Police station to provide further breath samples. The samples taken at the station, fell below the threshold for laying charges. The local, 28 year old, was issued a three day licence suspension when released and his vehicle was towed from the scene.

 

Theft

On September 6th at approximately 1:50 pm, Brockville Police attended the Yacht Club for a theft complaint.

The owners had items taken from the boat sometime overnight. This incident is still under investigation.

A local, 19 year old male, had a curfew condition as part of his conditions. He was out of the home beyond his curfew while attending a local store. A future court date was issued when Police located the male and he was released from custody.

 

Break and Enter

On September 7th at approximately 2:30 am, Brockville Police responded to a break and enter at Hemp Heaven on Perth Street.

Three males were observed running from the scene, all wearing hoodies. Brockville Police K-9 attended and searched the area with negative results. It is unknown at this time what is missing and the investigation is ongoing.

Warrant

On September 8th at approximately 4:00 pm, Brockville Police received information from Provincial Courts that a warrant was in existence for a local, 28 year old male.

The male was on bail conditions for outstanding charges and another individual had signed on to act as his surety which allowed for his release from custody. The surety attended court and indicated she was no longer interested in acting on his behalf. Police then attended her residence and informed the male of his arrest, taking him into custody. He will appear in bail court.
