Arson Investigation – Follow-up
The Brockville Police Service has continued the arson investigation into the multiple dumpster fires from September 3, 2022. We are now reporting that a 30-year-old, local male, has been identified and arrested in relation to this incident. He has been released with a future court date for seven counts of arson. We would also like to thank those from the community who became involved and assisted in this incident. Without your involvement and willingness to work together, these crimes would not have been solved.
Impaired Operation
On September 6, 2022 at about 8:00AM, the Brockville Police Service received a call for service in the area of Kent Blvd., regarding an apparent unconscious female in the driver seat of a running vehicle. Officers arrived and located a 59-year-old female as described. Investigation revealed that the female had consumed multiple pills and was under the influence of drugs. She was placed under arrest for impaired operation. She was then required to perform testing by a Drug Recognition Expert and it was confirmed that she was impaired by drugs. Her licence was suspended, vehicle towed and charged with operation while impaired by drugs. She was issued a future court date.
Domestic Disturbance
On September 7, 2022 at about 1:30AM, the Brockville Police Service received information of a domestic disturbance in the area of Church St. Officers arrived on scene and spoke to the individuals involved. While officers were investigating it was learned that the 37-year-old male in the relationship had struck his girlfriend twice during their dispute. The female’s injuries are considered non-life-threatening. The male was placed under arrest for the offence of assault. He was later released with conditions and a future court date.
Domestic Disturbance
On September 7, 2022 at about 7:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received information about a domestic disturbance that took place on Kensington Pkwy the day previous. Investigation revealed that on September 6, 2022, a 21-year-old male was engaged in a dispute with his female partner. It was determined that during the dispute the male had assaulted the female by striking her, striking her with a object, shoving her into a wall, threatening her life, throwing her to the ground and choking her and forcibly confining her as he would not allow her to leave. He had attempted to lock her in the residence. The male also began threatening to kill family members of the female if she made any attempts to leave the residence. The female was not seriously injured in the incident however, there is a significant safety concern for the victim and her family. Once the evidence was gathered, officers did locate the 21-year-old male. He was placed under arrest for the offences of two counts of forcible confinement, two counts of assault, two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of uttering threats and fail to comply with probation. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

On September 8, 2022 at about 5:30PM, the Brockville Police Service learned that the 21-year-old male above, had breached his release order bail conditions. He did so after being released from custody once completing his bail hearing. He was on a condition to abstain from being within 50 meters of the victim’s residence. It was discovered that he failed to comply with that condition. It was also found that he had made his way into the residence of a neighbour in the area and threatened them as well. The male was arrested and held for another bail hearing for the offences of fail to comply with release order, uttering threats and unlawfully in a dwelling.
