Bail Violation

 

On Tuesday, the Brockville Police commented on a local 25 year old male who failed to sign in at the Police station as required when released on charges. On September 7th at 2:30 pm, the subject turned himself into Police. He was arrested and charged with breaching his recognizance. An appearance in bail court will take place.

 

Rent Fraud

 

On September 7th at 2:55 and 5:32 pm, Brockville Police took complaints of fraud in relation to a house rental.

 

A residence on Front Avenue was advertised online for rent. The first complainant forwarded money to the fraudster and the second one held off after doing some investigating.

 

This is becoming a more popular scam. Police remind the public to be careful when responding to rentals online and never forward monies until comfortable that everything is legitimate.

 

Bail Violation

On September 7th at 12:27 pm, Brockville Police attended a disturbance within a city high school.

A local 12 year old male was causing problems for another male student. The youth was already on conditions for an outstanding charge of assault and breaching his conditions on the weekend. He was arrested and charged for breaching his release terms by failing to be of good behaviour as well as causing a disturbance by fighting.

The youth was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

Domestic Dispute / Warrant

On September 7th at 3:07 pm, Brockville Police attended a domestic dispute at a south end residence.

The dispute was verbal in nature and parties had calmed down. However, the female resident, 25 years of age, was wanted on an outstanding warrant from the Leeds OPP area. She was arrested in regards to the warrant and released to their custody later in the afternoon.

 

Bail Violation

On September 7th at 9:39 pm, Brockville Police stopped a vehicle on Stewart Blvd. for a traffic violation.

The local, 18 year old, male driver was on probation for offences in relation to child luring. One condition of the order required he not be alone with any female under 16 years of age. His female passenger was 15 years old. On August 20th, the accused was found in the company of the same female. He was arrested and charged at that time with the probation breach and released on conditions. A charge of breaching those conditions was laid as well. He was held in custody and will appear in bail court.
