On January 8, 2014 at 11:33 am a loss prevention officer observed a male suspect in the electronics department of the Brockville Walmart. The suspect selected merchandise, concealed it in his clothing and left the store without paying. The loss prevention officer apprehended the suspect in the store lot however the suspect broke free and fled the scene. Minutes later the suspect was located and arrested on Parkedale Avenue by the Brockville Police.
It was later learned that the suspect was on 3 probation orders. A 22 year old male from the Prescott area has been charged with theft and 3 counts of breach of probation. He was released from custody to appear in court at a later date. The merchandise was valued at $119.66.
