September 16 – 17, 2020 News Release

Dispute

On September 16th, 2020 at 5:30 PM the Brockville Police received a report of a road rage incident at Stewart Blvd. and Parkedale Ave.  The caller stated that they had observed a physical confrontation between a driver of one vehicle and a passenger of another vehicle.  A 46 year old male was identified as confronting a car load of young people. A minor physical altercation takes place between him and a passenger from the second vehicle.  As a result of this incident officers discover that the 46 year old is a suspended driver.  He is charged with driving while under suspension.

Drugs

On the 17th of September 2020 at 2:00 AM an officer on patrol observed a male in the area of Chelsea St.  The 21 year old male was recognized by the officer who had reasonable grounds to arrest the male from an incident that occurred on the 2nd of September.  On the 2nd of September a complaint was made about the male being in possession of property that he had obtained by committing thefts from vehicles. 

The male was not located until the 17th when he was arrested.  A search incident to arrest led to the discovery of a quantity of methamphetamine, marijuana and cash.  He was charged with possession of property obtained by crime from the September 2nd incident and possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking.

He will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges.

Weapons

On the 15th of September 2020 at 3:15 PM a 39 year old male attended a business on William Street.  The male was in possession of a full size wooden baseball bat, which he used to confront employees of the business regarding alleged identity theft.  Police were called and arrested the accused.  He has been charged with weapons dangerous and failing to comply with a probation order.  He will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge.

September 11 – 14, 2020 News Release

Bail violations

A 52 year old male was arrested for breaching his release condition on September 12th at 1030 PM.  The male was found to be in breach of his curfew and arrested when officers located him on Park Street.

Indecent Exposure

On September 11th at 3:45 PM the Brockville Police responded to complaints of a male causing a disturbance at the VIA Rail station.  The male exposed himself to the public and continued to yell and scream prompting the call to police.  He was arrested and charged with mischief, indecent acts and breach of a probation order.  He was charged and released with a future court date.

September 9 – 11, 2020 News Release

Bail violations

A 38 year old female was arrested by Kingston Police on September 10th.   The Brockville Police had a warrant for her arrest for failing to comply with a release condition from an incident in July.  She was arrested and returned to Brockville where she was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Assault Police

On the 9th of September 2020 at 7:22 PM officers were called to the Henry St. area for a male that was reportedly climbing on vehicles, acting in a bizarre manner.  Officers located a 50 year old male in the area and identified him as the suspect.  While conversing with the suspect he struck one of the officers in the groin.  He was arrested for assault police and released with a future court date.

 

September 4 – 8, 2020 News Release

Assault

On September 7th 2020 shortly after 6:00 PM the Brockville Police responded to a complaint of an assault on an 85 year old female.  The victim had contacted police after she was assaulted by her 60 year old son.  The injuries were not serious in nature.  The male was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing.

Bail violations/drugs

A 51 year old male was arrested on the 7th of September shortly before 5:00 AM.  Officers were dispatched to a noise complaint on Laurier Blvd.  On their arrival the officers located a 51 year old male and arrested him of a bail violation.  A quantity of methamphetamine was discovered on the male at the time of his arrest.  The accused was charged with breaching a bail condition and possession of a controlled substance.  He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Bail violations

A 42 year old female was arrested and charged with breaching a bail condition on September 5th, 2020 at 9:05 AM.  The Brockville Police were called to reports of a suspicious person at the rear of the Days Inn on Stewart Blvd.  When officer attended and identified the female they discovered that she was on court ordered conditions not to be around a 43 year old male that was present.  She was arrested and charged with that breach.  She will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge.

Mischief

On July 12th 2020 the Brockville Police began an investigation in regards to mailboxes being pried open at a King St. West apartment building.  A 39 year old was captured on video damaging the mail box.  That male was arrested on the 5th of September 2020 when he was located by officers on Perth St.  He was released from custody with a future court date.

Public Intoxication

On the 5th of September 2020 at 6:26 PM the Brockville Police responded to a complaint of an intoxicated male on Charles Street.  A 44 year old male was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and held in custody until sober.  He was released from custody with a $55 fine.

Theft

A 14 year old male and a 13 year old female were located on the 6th of September shortly after midnight for going through vehicles in the city’s south end.  Both were returned to their families and had their cases diverted to a youth program rather than being charged criminally.

Theft

A 41 year old male was arrested for theft of a package that occurred on the 5th of August 2020 in the city’s south end.  The male was identified in that occurrence through security footage.  He was located by officers on the 4th September in the afternoon when he was observed by officers on King St. West.  A search incident to arrest led to the discovery of several credit cards that were also stolen.  He now faces additional charges of being in possession of property obtained by crime.  He will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges.

 

August 31 – September 2, 2020 News Release

Assault

On the 1st of September at 9:23 PM Brockville Police responded to reports of a large fight on Broadway Avenue.  Police arrived on scene in time to witness the combatants.  A 19 year old female was arrested at the scene by officers for an assault on another female.  A 23 year old male was arrested for weapons offences as he was waving a sword.  The fight was the end result of a dispute between several parties with alcohol being a factor. Both parties were released from custody with a future court date. 

Assault

On August 31st shortly after 7:00 PM Brockville Police responded to a complaint of an assault at Centeen Park.  The caller indicated that they witnessed a violent assault and that the involved youths were fleeing the area.  Officers that arrived on scene located a 14 year old victim.  He was transported to the Brockville General Hospital for treatment.  The victim was injured in the assault, but he is expected to make a full recovery.   A 14 year old youth was identified as the primary suspect in the assault.   Several videos of the assault have been circulating on social media.  The video is graphic and shows a group of youth encouraging the assault and taunting the victim. 

The 14 year old male was arrested and charged with assault and theft.  He will appear in court at a later date.

 

August 28 – 31, 2020 News Release

Weapons/threats

On the 28th of August at 9:50 AM the Brockville Police responded to a complaint about a person with a weapon and threatening to kill someone.  Officers were dispatched to an apartment building on Kensington Parkway as it was reported that the 25 year old female had entered the building armed with a shovel threatening to kill a resident.  She was located by officers who disarmed and arrested her.  She was then held in custody for a bail hearing. 

Impaired

On Friday the 28th of August at 2:40 PM the Brockville Police responded to a complaint about an erratic driveron Stewart Boulevard.  The caller then stated that the vehicle had now driven off the highway and into the ditch.  Officers arrived on scene and discovered signs of impairment by alcohol on the driver.  The 32 year old female driver was transported to the Brockville General Hospital for treatment.  A qualified breath technician attempted to obtain samples of her breath at the hospital, but the she refused to provide them.  She was charged with impaired operation of a conveyance and failing to comply with a demand.  Her licence was automatically suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for 7 days.

Fail to remain accident

On the 30th of August at 11:49 AM a large Dodge Ram grey pickup truck entered the drive-through of Starbucks located at 1981 Parkedale Avenue.  The vehicle had entered the drive-through the wrong way.  As the vehicle attempted to back out it struck the building.  The vehicle then fled the location.  The vehicle should have significant damage to the passenger side.  We are asking for any witnesses to contact Mike Noonan at 613-342-0127 ext. 6089 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Fail to remain accident

On the 30th of August at 12:37 PM the Brockville Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Oxford Avenue involving two vehicles.  There were not any reported injuries in the collision, but one vehicle fled the scene.  That vehicle along with the driver were later located.  Both vehicles had significant damage.  A 57 year old female was charged with failing to yield from a private drive under the Highway Traffic Act and failing to stop at the scene of an accident under the Criminal Code.  She will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges.

Break and enter

On the 30th of August shortly after 9:00 PM the Brockville Police were contacted by a homeowner on Comstock Crescent about a male they had discovered in their residence.  The male had entered the residence while the complainant was away.  When he returned home he discovered the 30 year old male inside the residence.  The male was on the homeowners couch eating their food.  The suspect had also gone through the residence and had collected numerous items.  He was escorted out of the residence and police were contacted.  The male was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing.  Sean Liam Kinghorn 30 years of age has been charged with breaking and entering and 4 counts of breaches of probation.

Suspicious male

On the 28th of August just before 4:00 AM the Brockville Police responded to reports of a suspicious male on Garden Street.  The male was located by officers and arrested for various criminal code offences.  The male had provided several false names to officers in order to avoid arrest as he was on release conditions from other incidents.  A search incident to arrest led to the discovery of a small quantity of methamphetamine.  The 29 year old male has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, breaching a probation order, failing to comply with an undertaking and obstructing police.  He will appear in court at later date to answer to the charges.

August 26 – 27, 2020 News Release

Impaired

On the 26th of August 2020 shortly after 11:00 PM the Brockville Police Service received a call about a suspected impaired driver.  A description of the male and vehicle was provided to our police dispatch.  Officers attended the area of King St. West in search of the vehicle.  It was located on Church Street travelling at a high rate of speed until it was stopped near Oak Crescent.  The 55 year old driver was found to be intoxicated and was arrested.  He later provided samples of his breath to a qualified breath technician with results of three times over the legal limit.  The male was charged with impaired operation of a conveyance and operate a conveyance with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol.  His licence was automatically suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for 7 days.  He will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges.

Stolen Boat

The Brockville Police are investigating the theft of a 14 foot aluminum fishing boat and motor that was taken on the 26th of August 2020 around 5:00 AM.  Video of the incident has been released on our social media.  The two suspects can be seen using a black SUV to hook up to the trailer and commit their theft on Aspen Drive.  Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Cst. August 24 – 25, 2020 News Release

Threats

On the 24th of August 2020 shortly after 4:00 PM police were called to an apartment building on Pearl Street East for a neighbour dispute.  The 32 year old male victim had contacted police advising that a neighbour had confronted him about garbage being left in the building.  The 29 year old accused threatened the victim with bodily harm.   The investigation led to the arrested of the 29 year old male and charges of uttering a threat to cause bodily harm.  He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Robbery arrest

Previous release: “On the 23rd of August 2020 at 9:30 PM the Brockville Police responded to reports of a fight between two female combatants on Buell St.  Officers located one female at the scene that was identified as a victim in this occurrence.  She was also wanted by the Ontario Provincial Police for an outstanding warrant.  The second 42 year old female had left the area prior to police arrival.  She is known to police and will be charged with robbery when she is located.  There was an allegation of theft with violence made by the victim.  She had minor injuries as a result of this incident.  The victim was turned over to the OPP for the outstanding warrant.”

The 42 year old female suspect in this incident was arrested on the 25th of August 2020 shortly after 3:00 AM.  She was held in custody for a bail hearing. 

August 21 – 23, 2020 News Release

Breach of Probation

On the 23rd of August 2020 at 3:50 PM police observed a 39 year old Brockville resident on Cartier Court.  The male was bound by a probation order not to be at that location.  He drew attention to himself by yelling at unknown people while officers were there dealing with other matters.  He was arrested without incident and will appear in court at later date to answer to the charge.

Disturb the Peace

On the 23rd of August 2020 at 9:30 PM the Brockville Police responded to reports of a fight between two female combatants on Buell St.  Officers located one female at the scene that was identified as a victim in this occurrence.  She was also wanted by the Ontario Provincial Police for an outstanding warrant.  The second 42 year old female involved had left the area prior to police arrival.  She is known to police and will be charged with robbery when she is located.  There was an allegation of theft with violence made by the victim.  The victim had minor injuries as a result of this incident.  The victim was turned over to the OPP for the outstanding warrant.

Public Intoxication

On the 22nd of August at 4:00 PM a local 47 year old male contacted the Brockville Police asking that he be arrested due to his level of intoxication.  He was located by officers on King Street and provided with lodging for the night.

Drug offences

On the 21st of August 2020 shortly after 4:00 PM officers responded to a complaint of possible drug use by two individuals sitting in a vehicle at Part Source on Parkedale Avenue.  Officers attended and located a 29 year old male and a 37 year old female in a vehicle.  The attending officers conduction a standard field sobriety test on the driver.  While dealing with the driver the officers located “purple fentanyl” in possession of the male passenger.  The male was charged with being in possession of the controlled substance and released from custody with a future court date. The female was not charged with any offence.

Unwanted person

On the 21st of August at 9:50 PM officers responded to a King Street West apartment as the complainant had contacted police stating that his guest had over stayed his welcome and wished him removed from the premise.  The caller did not know the last name of his guest.  When the officers arrived at the apartment the male was identified as a 30 year old local male.  He was on probation and prohibited from possession of any weapons.  The male was arrested and officers located brass knuckles in his possession.  He was charged with breach of probation, breach of a prohibition order and possession of a prohibited weapon.  He was released to a family member to appear in court at a later date.

August 18 – 19, 2020 News Release

Break and Enter

A 33 year old male was arrested on the 18th of August shortly after 5:00 PM. The male was arrested in relation to a break and enter to a south end residence on the 17th of August in the afternoon.  The male had entered the residence through an unlocked door and removed a credit card from a wallet that was nearby.  The home owner was alerted to the intrusion by their pet parrot greeting the thief with a “hello”.  The home owner did not pay the parrot much attention to the bird as he isn’t always a reliable source of information.  The male was photographed by a neighbour as he left the residence and police were contacted.  The male was then captured by security cameras using the cards at a local store.  He was identified and arrested.

The male was held in custody for a bail hearing facing charges of “break and enter”, theft and using a stolen credit card.

Bail Violations

On the 18th of August at 9:50 PM officers stopped a rented U-Haul truck on George Street.  The Brockville Police were contacted about the vehicle as it had been spotted by the complainant cruising around storage lockers at a location outside of the city.  The driver was identified as a 27 year old Ottawa resident who was on court ordered conditions not to be out of his residence.  The male was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing.

Trespass by night

A 41 year old male was arrested in the city’s north end as residents from the area reported to police that a male was trying to gain access to vehicles.  The male was arrested when officers attended the area and charged with trespassing by night.  The male will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge.
