February 7 – 8, 2019 Incidents

Fire

On February 7, 2019 at 5:42 a.m., police along with the Brockville Fire Department responded to a very minor fire at the RBC on Parkedale Ave. Suspect(s) had lit a quantity of envelopes on fire in the lobby area by the automated tellers. There wasn’t any damage to the business as the fire was extinguished by a passerby. The CCTV footage will be reviewed in order to identify a suspect.

 

Domestic Assault

A 28 year old female has been charged with assault in relation to a domestic dispute that took place in the city’s south end. She has been released from custody with a future court date.

 

Prohibited Driver

On February 7, 2019 at 9:50 p.m., a vehicle was stopped for erratic driving on Central Ave. The driver was identified and it was discovered that he was a suspended driver. His vehicle was impounded and he was charged for driving while under suspension.

 

 

February 6 – 7, 2019 Incidents

Warrant Execution

The Kingston Police Service along with members of Brockville Police executed search warrant today at 78 Perth Street in relation to a fourth male involved in the shooting in Kingston on the 29th of January 2019. Public Intoxication

On Tuesday February 5th at 6:10 p.m., members of the Brockville Police Service were dispatched to the Travelodge on Kent Blvd. for an intoxicated male. The male was in the lobby area of the hotel causing a disturbance.   He was located by officers and arrested for the offence of being intoxicated in a common area. He was held in custody until sober and released with a $55 fine.

 

Water Main

The water main break on Parkedale Ave. between California Ave and Ormond St. continues. City staff are working to repair the issue. Parkedale Avenue will remain closed at that location until it is repaired.

 

February 4 – 5, 2019 Incidents

Breach of Court Conditions

A 45 year old male and a 32 year old female were observed together on Broadway Ave at 1:00 am this morning. Both parties were on conditions not to associate with each and as a result of the breach they were both arrested. The male was released from custody with a future court date and the female was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

Warrants

A 36 year old female was arrested on the 4th of February at 5:00 a.m. when police located her on Home St. The female had previously failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for her arrest. The female was also charged with being in possession of a controlled substance.

February 2 – 3, 2019 Incidents

Warrants

On the 2nd of February, 2019, Brockville Police attended a south end residence in relation to a disturbance, while there located a 34 year old male that was wanted for breach of probation. He was arrested and given a future court date.

 

Operation Door Knock

On the 2nd of February, 2019 the Brockville Police conducted a door knock for a 40 year old male who is on a curfew condition and to remain in his residence. He was found to be in breach and is currently wanted by our service.

 

Cannabis

In the early morning hours of February 3rd, 2019 a traffic stop was conducted in the City Of Brockville. A strong odour of Marihuana was smelt within the vehicle. Located within the vehicle was more than the allowable amount to be carried and was determined to be illicit marihuana. The driver was charged under the Cannabis Act and given a future court date.

 

Break and Enter

On the 27th of January 2019 at 10:35 a.m., a 39 year old male who had just been released from serving his intermittent sentence, broke into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment. Police were called and the male fled the area prior to police arrival. The male is now currently wanted for theft under $5000, mischief under $5000, break and enter, and 3 counts of breach of probation.

On February 3, 2019 that suspect was arrested at the Jail and surrendered back into custody to face the charges above. He will appear Monday for a show cause hearing.

 

January 31 – February 1, 2019 Incidents

Liquor Licence Act

Shortly after 9pm on January 31, 2019 a 58 year old was refused service at a local establishment, due to his level of impairment. He became belligerent with staff and subsequently police were contacted. He was located where he was arrested for Intoxicated in a public place contrary to the Liquor Licence Act, he was held in cells till sober and released with a $65 fine in the morning.

 

Warrants

On the 1st of February, 2019 police attended a residence in the north end for a call of assistance. Police located a 40 year old who had been wanted for several breach of probation charges, threats and weapons charges dated back to mid 2018. He was arrested for those offences and released with a future court date.

 

Warrants

On the 1st of February, 2019, Brockville Police along with the Kingston Police Force attended an address in the center of city to execute a search warrant in relation to an incident in Kingston. While there police located a 25 year old male who was arrested for the offence of Possession for the purpose of trafficking. He was released on a future court date.

 

Drugs/Warrants

On the 2nd of February, 2019 shortly after midnight police located an 18 year old female who was wanted for a breach of probation charges. She was arrested under the strength of that warrant and searched, which revealed her to be in possession of a quantity of drugs. She was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

 

January 29 – 30, 2019 Incidents

Fire

On January 29, 2019 at 2:30 p.m., the Brockville Fire Department and the Brockville Police Service responded to 209 Pearl St. West in response to a structure fire. There were not any injuries as a result of the fire and it is not deemed suspicious.

 

Assault

On January 29, 2019 at 7:30 p.m., the Brockville Police Service responded to a domestic dispute at the 1000 Island Mall. Callers indicated that a male had assaulted a female in the parking lot over keys to a vehicle. The female was knocked to the ground and the suspect left with the vehicle. The male was later located and arrested for assault. The female did not receive any significant injuries as a result of the assault.

January 28 – 29, 2019 Incidents

Warrants

On January 28th a 49 year old male was arrested by Kingston Police as he had a warrant of arrest from Brockville. The male had originally been arrested and charged with theft by our service. He then failed to show up for his court appearances and a warrant was issued. The male was returned to Brockville and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

Another arrest on the strength of our warrants, today a 29 year old male was arrested by police in Montreal. The male had warrants from our service dating back to 2011 for various offences stemming from an assault charge. The male then failed to show up for his court appearances and the warrants were issued. The male was returned to Brockville and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

January 27 – 28, 2019 Incidents

Break and Enter

On the 27th of January 2019 at 10:35 a.m., a 39 year old male who had just been released from serving his intermittent sentence, broke into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment. Domestic

On January 28, 2019 at 6:00 a.m. officers responded to a domestic dispute in the city’s south end. Officers arrived on scene and located a 35 year old male leaving the scene. The male had outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was arrested on the strength of the warrant. He has also been charged him with one count of assault in relation to the domestic occurrence. The male has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

January 24 – 25, 2019 Incidents

Motor vehicle collision

On January 25, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. the Brockville Police Service responded to a collision at 7712 Kent Boulevard.   A blue Chevrolet Equinox that was originally parked across the street at the Dollarama had hit another vehicle sending it into a local retailer. The driver of the vehicle lost control due to a medical crisis. The vehicle travelled from the Dollarama parking lot, mounting the curb travelling west, across Kent Blvd. into the lot of 7712 Kent Blvd, striking two vehicles before hitting the parked Ford sending it into Taylor Sewing Centre.  

The driver of the Equinox was transported to Brockville General Hospital for her injuries. Luckily no one else was injured in this incident. No charges are expected in this investigation.

 

Foot Pursuit

Officers on routine patrol observed a 20 year old male breaching his probation by associating with someone that he was prohibited from communicating with. Upon seeing police he attempted to flee, but was caught by the officer giving chase. The male attempted to resist his arrest, but officers were eventually able to handcuff the male. He has now been charged with two counts of breaching his probation and resisting arrest.

 

 

January 20 – 23, 2019 Incidents

Assault

On Sunday January 20th at 5:15 pm, police responded to a residence in the center of the city for a family dispute. The dispute involved two sisters that led to an assault and charges against a 28 year old female of assault. She was released from police custody with a future court date.

 

Public Intoxication

A 64 year old male was arrested on Tuesday evening when he was located at the corner of Perth Street and King Street to intoxicated to care for himself. The male was arrested for his own safety and held in custody until sober.

 

Parking Ban

A reminder that the city wide parking ban is in place tonight from 11:00 pm – 7:00 am. Vehicles left on the street will be ticketed and towed.
