The Brockville Police will have a display at the Street Eats Sidewalk Sale on Saturday. Our new K9 handler Cst. Dan Hall along with is partner Diesel will be in attendance from 11:00 – 12:00. We will also have our Emergency Response Team, Ident officer Det/Cst. Steve Rogers and other displays set up. Our new event trailer will be open for business selling mini-donuts to support our youth programs.
Fire
The Brockville Fire Department along with the Brockville Police Service responded to a working fire at 61 Bartholomew St. The roof of the residence was being replaced and the fire started shortly after workers finished for the day. Brockville Fire worked for several hours to control and extinguish the blaze. There were no injuries reported and the residents were provided with alternative lodging.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it is not believed to be criminal in nature.
Theft
A 35 year old male and a 19 year old female were arrested for theft after they left Wal-Mart with a grocery cart full of camping equipment valued at $600. Both parties were charged with theft and released with a future court date.
Drugs
A 49 year old male was observed by officers on King St. at 1:00 pm and found to be breaching a condition of his probation. The male was arrested by officers and found to be in possession of property obtained by crime and methamphetamine. He has been charged and released with a future court date.
Warrants
On Saturday evening a 32 year old male was arrested for a warrant of committal. He had been released from court on court imposed conditions. His surety rescinded their bail and a warrant was issued.
Disturbance
A 33 year old male is facing charges from an incident Saturday night. Police were called to a King St. address for reports of an altercation. It was discovered that the male involved was on conditions not to be at that address. He is now charged with breaching his recognizance and his probation order.
Theft
A 50 year old male that is well known to police was arrested Saturday after he was observed removing 5 steaks from the Metro on King St without any attempt to pay. He was arrested without incident and charged with theft under $5000.
Warrants
Police were called to assist paramedics with a medical call on King St as they were having difficulty with the patient. Police assisted the paramedics with a 33 year old female. When she was cleared medically she was arrested for an outstanding warrant. She was later released with a future court date.
Break and Enter
On Sunday at 1:00 am police respond to an alarm at “EVAPE” located at 125 Stewart Blvd. Upon their arrival they located a 14 year old suspect inside the store with his pockets filled with merchandise. He was arrested, charged and turned over to his parents.
Public Intoxication
While on routine patrol Sunday at 3:00 am police observed a male passed out on the grass in the area of King St. and Clarissa St. The 33 year old male was discovered to be intoxicated. He was providing lodging until sober for his own safety.
A 24 year old Brockville man has been arrested and charged with numerous firearms related offences. The accused was held for bail and remanded into custody. He will appear in court on the 22nd of May. For any further information, please contact A/S/Sgt. Harvie or A/S/Sgt. Fournier.
Cartier Court Incident
The Brockville Police responded to reports of a shooting at a Cartier Court apartment building. Officers arrived as a male was being attended to by paramedics. He has been transported to a local hospital and treated for his injuries that have been described as nonlife threatening.
A 24 year old male has been taken into custody and further details will be released as they come in.
Break and Enters
The Brockville Police Service is investigating reports of two separate break and enters to garages in the downtown core. It appears that the garages were entered during the night with the suspects removing several items.
Warrants
An 18 year old female was arrested for an outstanding probation warrant when officers located her at the 1000 Islands Mall. She was also wanted by the OPP for a separate investigation to whom she was turned over to.
Public Intoxication
Officers were called to a licenced establishment on King St. at 7:00 pm yesterday for a disturbance. A 29 year old female was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. She was held in custody until sober and released.
Public Intoxication
Police were called to another disturbance on Garden Street which can also be attributed to alcohol. A 55 year old female was arrested after she attempted to throw a brick at the complainant. Due to her intoxicated state she was unsuccessful in her attempt. She was arrested and remained in custody until she was sober.
Drive Disqualified
Officers stopped a vehicle on Broad St. at 11:30 pm last night. The vehicle was initially stopped for having expired validation. The vehicle was also being operated without insurance and by a disqualified driver. A 41 year old male is now facing charges of driving while disqualified, operating without insurance and drive without a currently validated permit.
Shoplifting
A 42 year old female was arrested and charged for shoplifting after staff at Metro on King St. observed her conceal several items and leave the store not making any attempt to pay. She was arrested and released at the scene with a future court date.
Dogs in a vehicle
With the weather getting warmer we are asking people not to leave their pets in vehicles.
Police were called to the intersection of King St and Market St. for a large dog that was left in a vehicle. When the owner was eventually located he was charged under a by-law for not ensuring the well-being of the animal.
Warrants
A 43 year old male was arrested last night after police were called to an apartment on Reynolds Drive. The complainant had a house guest that had overstayed his welcome and was asking police for assistance in removing them. It was discovered that this male had a warrant for his arrest. The male was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing.
Threats
The Brockville Police Service responded to a road rage incident in the area of Parkedale Avenue in the early afternoon hours. A brief interaction took place where an unknown male suspect threatened two victims while holding a weapon in hand. The suspect fled in a dark coloured convertible. The victims did not receive any injuries due to the event. Break & Enter
Witness at the Tall Ships observed two unknown people enter a boat, throw something in the water and walk away. Investigation determined approximately $200 damage was caused to the boat and $500 worth of property was taken. Dog Stolen from outside Circle K on King Street
Officers were called to the King Street Circle K convenience store at 9:15 Sunday morning after the owner of a Black Mastiff Cross reported to police that his dog had been stolen from in front of the store while he was inside paying for his order.
The dog’s owner, a 26 year old Brockville man, went into the store for a short period of time to make a purchase and tied the dog up in front of the store. When he returned the dog was gone and he contacted the police.

Counterfeit Arrest
A 39 year old Brockville man is facing charges after he was caught passing a counterfeit $50 bill.
Shortly before 4 p.m. yesterday afternoon Brockville Police responded to a complaint of a young man passing a counterfeit $50 bill at a downtown convenience store. The store owner had a video of the suspect and when he showed it to police the responding officers they immediately recognized the 39 year old man.
He was later located by officers and charged for uttering counterfeit currency and released with a future court date.
Motor Vehicle Collision leads to arrest
A 35 year old Smiths Falls man is facing charges after police responded to a motor vehicle collision late last evening at the intersection of Kensington Parkway and Centennial Road.
Just after 11:30 pm Brockville Police received a call of a black Ford Ranger pick-up truck which was north bound on Kensington Parkway cross Centennial Road and crash into the ditch on the north side of Centennial Road striking a pole. A young male was observed by residents fleeing the vehicle described as wearing blue jeans and blue t-shirt walking south bound on Kensington Parkway who was confronted by area residents. A physical altercation ensued before police arrived on scene.
When officers arrived the 35 year old man was found to be under the influence of alcohol but denied being the driver of the pick-up truck. He was placed under arrest for assault and mischief as a result of the altercation and taken into police custody.
The Ford Ranger pick-up truck was found to have a quantity of grocery items inside the truck when taken from the ditch.
