April 18 – 19, 2018 Incidents

Warrants

On the 14th of April 2018 the Brockville Police Service investigated a break and enter on Front St. Officers were able to identify one of the males involved in the incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

On the 18th of April at 5:00 pm officers responded to a disturbance call where they located the above suspect. The 32 year old male was arrested on the strength of the warrant for the break and enter charges.

 

Impaired Driving

A 66 year old male is facing charges of impaired driving and driving with almost double the legal limit of alcohol. Officers observed the accused operating his vehicle in an erratic manner on Wall St. at 8:00 pm. The male was charged and released with a future court date. His license will also be automatically suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for 7.

April 17 – 18, 2018 Incidents

Drugs

At 8:30 pm on Tuesday night officers observed a vehicle commit a Highway Traffic Act infraction on Parkedale Ave. There were two occupants of the motor vehicle being a 27 year old male driver and 27 year old female passenger. The vehicle as stopped and police discovered that the driver was breaching a bail condition. He was arrested which led to the discovery of a large quantity of methamphetamine and cocaine. The male driver and female passenger are now facing charges for the possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. Both have been held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Motor vehicle collision/Refusal

Officers responded to the east end of Parkedale Ave. in response to a traffic collision at 10:26 pm. During the course of their investigation the officer attending detected an odour of an alcoholic beverage on the breath of one of the drivers involved. A demand was made by the officer that the driver provide a sample of his breath into an approved screening device. The male refused and was subsequently charged with refusal to provide a breath sample. The driver was then issued a 90 day suspension for failing to provide a sample as well as having his vehicle impounded for 7 days. He was issued a summons to attend court at a later date.

April 16 – 17, 2018 Incidents

Warrants

A 41 year old male was arrested by Kingston Police for our outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. He was returned to Brockville and held for a bail hearing.

 

Warrants

Belleville Police also arrested a 31 year old male on a warrant from Brockville for failing to attend court. This male was also returned to Brockville and held for a bail hearing.

 

Domestic

At 1:00 am this morning, police were called to a downtown address in regards to a domestic dispute. Their investigation led to charges of assault with a weapon and mischief against a 28 year old female.

Police Auction

Police Auction will be held on Thursday, May 17th,  at the Memorial Centre.

Viewing time will be 6pm and the auction will start at 7pm.

Bikes, 2 wedding ring sets, pocket watches and various items.

 

 

April 12 – 13, 2018 Incidents

Bail Violations

While on patrol late yesterday morning a Brockville Police officer observed a 24 year old woman and her 26 year old boyfriend in a vehicle together contrary to their release conditions.

At 11:20 a.m. yesterday morning the officer spotted the couple in a vehicle together in the parking lot on Parkedale Avenue east. The couple was known to the officer and further investigation showed the 24 year old woman was released from custody in February on a Recognizance of Bail, the result of a domestic incident, with a condition that she has no communication with the 26 year old man.

As a result, the woman was taken into custody and charged with breaching her recognizance and released from custody with several conditions and a future court date.

 

Domestic Charges

Shortly after 7 p.m. last evening, officers responded to a complaint of a domestic disturbance at a Stewart Boulevard residence. 

The victim told police she and her husband had been arguing about a family matter when a physical altercation took place prompting the police to be called. When officers arrived the couple was separated and no longer arguing. Both were spoken to and it was confirmed the argument had turned physical.

As a result a 74 year old Brockville man was taken into custody and is now facing charges of domestic assault in relation to the incident. He was briefly held in custody before being released with a future court date. The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.

 

April 11 – 12, 2018 Incidents

Warrants

A 35 year old male was arrested by the OPP on our outstanding warrant in Spencerville. He was returned to our service and held for a bail hearing.

 

Warrants

A 29 year old female was arrested for her outstanding warrant at court. She was also held for a bail hearing.

 

Theft

A 25 year old male was arrested by the on duty sergeant as he observed the male on William St. and Church St. The sergeant was on routine patrol and recognized the male as he was wanted on reasonable and probable grounds for a theft from a north end box store.

April 10 – 11, 2018 Incidents

Warrants

A 28 year old male was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Kingston. He was turned over to their custody.

 

Ride

Officers conducted a RIDE program last night. We are happy to report that there were not any arrests for impaired driving, but one subject was charged with having an open container of alcohol.

 

 

April 9 – 10, 2018 Incidents

Bail violations

A 42 year old male was arrested for breaching his bail conditions yesterday at 7:00 am. Callers in the area of Broadway Ave. reported a male running through the woods without shoes or a shirt. He was located a short distance away after attempting to remove a screen from a window to a residence. The male was arrested for breaching his bail conditions.

 

Other news

Officer also investigated several other incidents that lead to arrests. A 34 year old male was arrested in a domestic incident for mischief. Two other adults were arrested and charged with shoplifting.

 

April 6 – 8, 2018 Incidents

Disturbance/fight

On Friday in the lobby of the court building, two males engaged in an altercation for some unknown reason. Both males are known to each other. They were separated by court staff and are now facing charges of causing a disturbance by fighting.

 

Domestic

On Friday evening a 37 year old male was charged with threats and a breach of his bail conditions. Police responded to a call for a domestic disturbance and their investigation lead to the charges. It was discovered that the male was consuming alcohol contrary to his conditions and had threatened the victim.   He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Break and Enter

Police are investigating a break and enter to the GNC store located on Parkedale Ave. The investigation is continuing at the time of this release.
