Nuisance Phone Calls

On August 6th, Police responded to King St. address in regards to an assault complaint.

The 48 yr. old male complainant was unhappy about the incident and was repeatedly calling 911 and tying up emergency lines.

Subject was eventually arrested for Nuisance Phone Calls. He was later released when sober.

On August 6th, Police responded to a south end park in regards to a male party who was causing a disturbance.

A local 42 yr. old male was arrested to Prevent a Further Breach of the Peace.

He was released from custody when sober.

SCAM – Microsoft Security Office

The Microsoft Security Officer scam has again re-appeared locally. In this version of the scam a caller pretending to represent Microsoft Security calls and tells the victim their security software is out of date and needs to be upgraded against new potential threats. The caller then asks for the victim

Movie Night!

Movie Night was held last night at #12 Central Ave. Police were very happy with the turn out!!

Theft from Boats

Since the 1st of July the Brockville Police Service has received a number of complaints from boat owners at the Brockville Yacht regarding persons entering their boats causing minor damage and stealing items from inside the boats.

Since this time with the assistance of a number of tips from the public the responsible parties have been identified and as a result 3 Youths have been charged with a number of offences including Break and Enter and Mischief with regards to these incidents and have been released to their parents with a future court date.

Brockville Police are reminding boat owners to not leave valuables in plain view on your boats when it is unattended, arm your alarm systems if your boats are equipped and to contact the Brockville Police to report any suspicious activity around the waterfront.

Hit and Run

Brockville Police are investigating an incident that occurred in the Tim Hortons parking lot located at Jefferson Drive shortly after 2100 hrs on the 5th of August 2014. A green GMC Jimmy or Chev Blazer of unknown plate had words with a technician who was working in the drivethru on equipment when the driver of the green Jimmy yelled at the technician to get out of the way and then drove by the technician striking him in the right arm with his mirror, collapsing the mirror into the vehicle. The driver then yelled at the technician and fled.

The male is described as being early 50’s, white hair and white moustache. He had a female passenger. The service is treating this occurence as a fail to remain and ask the publics help in identifying this driver and the vehicle.

Disturbance

On the 4th of August 2014 at 12:45 am officers attended a disturbance on Bisley Crescent. At this time a 59 year old male was charged with Breach of Undertaking x 2, and a 54 year old male was apprehended in order to prevent a further breach of the peace. Both males were later released.

Liquor Licence Act

On the 3rd of August 2014 at 12:40 am officers dealt with 4 males on King Street West. At this time one male was charged with having open liquor. He was issued an offence notice at the scene.

On the 3rd of August 2014 at 1:15 am officers conducted a traffic stop on William Street. At this time a 17 year old female was charged with having open liquor. She was issued an offence notice at the scene.

On the 3rd of August 2014 at 1:35 am officers located an intoxicated male on King Street at Broad Street. The 26 year old male was lodged until sober and released with an offence notice.

On the 3rd of August 2014 at 1:37 am a 26 year old male was located at King Street and Broad Street with open liquor. He was issued an offence notice and released at the scene.

On the 3rd of August 2014 at 3 am officers located an intoxicated male on King Street West. The 21 year old male was lodged until sober and released when sober with an offence notice.

On the 1st of August 2014 at 8:15 pm a 38 year old male was located on Perth Street. The male was extremely intoxicated and was subsequently charged with breach of recognizance x 4 and breach of probation. He was held for bail.

On the 2nd of August 2014 at 2 am officers located an intoxicated male on King Street East. The 20 year old male was lodged until sober and released. He was issued an offence notice for being intoxicated in a public place.

Possession of Stolen Property

On the 17th of July, Police took a complaint of a stolen IPAD.

On July 31st, the suspect in this theft was located. A local 17 yr. old male was arrested and charged with Theft Under.

He was released with a future court date.
