Domestic Assault
On June 9, 2021 at approximately 12:00 noon, the Brockville Police Service responded to a domestic complaint in the city’s north end. A 29-year-old male was arrested for assaulting his 20-year-old partner after a heated argument. The male was arrested without incident and charged with assault. He was released from custody with a future court date. The injuries sustained were not serious in nature.
Impaired:
On the 3rd of June 2021 at 11:25 AM, a call of a possible impaired driver on Perth Street was received. The call was placed by an off duty police officer who had witnessed the erratic driving. Officers located the vehicle on Central Ave and made a vehicle stop. A 64-year-old male driver was arrested for impaired operation of a conveyance. The male subsequently provided two samples of his breath to a qualified technician with levels of nearly 4 times the legal limit. He was charged with impaired operation and drive with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in his blood. He will appear in court at a later date.
Domestic Mischief:
On June 4th shortly before 1:00 AM, officers responded to a call of a domestic dispute in the city’s north end. The two parties involved had an intense argument that ended with an 18 year old female kicking out a window of the residence. The female was charged for mischief and released with a future court date.
Arrest on Warrants
Threats
On the 4th of June 2021 at 9:50 PM, officers responded to reports of a disturbance in the hallway of an apartment building on Kensington Parkway. A 47-year-old male and 31 year old male had some sort of physical altercation in the hallway. The 31 year old was eventually arrested for uttering a threat after a former girlfriend of his approached police reporting it. That male was held in custody for his bail hearing.
Mischief / Neighbour Dispute
A neighbour dispute has led to charges against a 60-year-old male. Over the weekend officers were called to a residence in the center of the city for several “neighbour dispute” type calls. The male was charged on the 6th of June for mischief after he had ripped out part of a hedge that belonged to the complainant. He will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge.
Bike Patrol
On Saturday June 5th two bike patrol officers conducted targeted enforcement in the downtown core. In their 6-hour patrol, those officers issued 4 tickets under the Highway Traffic Act, 1 under the Liquor License Act and made two arrests. The patrols will continue throughout the summer.
Break and Enter
On June 6th at 6:23 PM, officers were called to a residence on Seven Oaks Avenue for reports of a break and enter. The home owner confronted a male trying to enter his residence. That male fled the area, but was located by officers and arrested for breaking and entering. A search incident to his arrest led to the discovery of methamphetamine. The male was charged for “breaking and entering” and possession of a controlled substance. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Assault
On the 3rd of June 2021 at 2:17 AM, the Brockville Police Service responded to assault and theft of motor vehicle call on Eleanor St. A male victim was struck in the head with a metal object several times causing significant injury. The suspect then drove off in a vehicle belonging to a witness.
The victim was transported to the Brockville General Hospital for his injuries. The 35-year-old male accused was located today around 10:00 AM and arrested for assault with a weapon and theft of a motor vehicle. He will appear in court for a bail hearing.
Assault
On the 1st of June 2021 at 7:35 PM, officers responded to an assault complaint on Perth Street. A 53-year-old male had been punched in the nose by his 32-year-old son. The victim was intoxicated to the point officers were concerned for his safety. He did not wish to complain about the assault. He was arrested for his own safety and transported to the hospital for his injury. He was released unconditionally when sober.
Mischief
On the 31st of May 2021 at 7:30 PM, the Brockville Police Service was contacted about a suspicious male. The complainant had observed a 49-year-old suspect walking out of a back yard on Bartholomew St. The complainant contacted police as he followed with his vehicle. The suspect then took the bicycle he had and hit the complainant’s vehicle. Officers arrested the male on King Street West for the offence of mischief. He was later released from custody with a future court date.
Unwanted Person
On the 28th of May at 10:30 the Brockville Police responded to an unwanted guest call from VIA Rail. When the train arrived in town officers attended and escorted 20-year-old male off the train. He had not purchased a ticket for the ride. The male further complicated matters by providing a false name to the officers. He was arrested and charged with transportation fraud, obstruct police and breach of probation. He will appear in court at a later date.
Bail Violations
On the 28th of May at 9:30 PM officers responded to a complaint of a bail violation at a Church Street address. Officers arrested a 36-year-old male for breaching his release conditions for being at that address. He will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge.
Drugs
An alert citizen has recovered a large quantity of Fentanyl. Earlier this week a Brockville resident watched an unknown person bury a container off of the Brock Trail in the downtown area. The citizen found this odd and later returned to the area and discovered the drugs. He immediately contacted our service to turn over the property. Police are investigating potential suspects.
Fentanyl is an opioid that is much more toxic than other opioids, such as heroin, morphine, methadone, or codeine. This makes the risk of accidental overdose with fentanyl much higher.
Illicit or “bootleg” fentanyl is being made illegally and sold on the street. It is being cut into other drugs like heroin, cocaine, ecstasy, and also in counterfeit pills that are made to look like other prescription pills (like ‘OxyContin’ or ‘Percocet’).
The estimated street value of the drugs recovered is in excess of $100,000.
Theft
On May 25th at 10:24 AM, the Brockville Police were called to the Pawn Shop on Stewart Blvd. as it was it had been discovered that a 30-year-old male had attempted to pawn stolen items valued at $260. The male was located later that day and arrested for being in possession of property obtained by crime. He will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges.
Domestic Assault
On the 27th of May at 1:00 AM the Brockville Police responded to a domestic complaint in the city’s south end. Hearing the argument a neighbour exited his residence and was confronted by the male involved in the domestic. The two exchanged words, which led to the suspect pulling a knife. The suspect put the knife away. The suspect and the victim continued to argue leading to a physical confrontation. Officers arrived on scene and separated the combatants. A 36-year-old male was charged with assault with a weapon (for pulling the knife) and weapons dangerous to the public. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Bear
As reported on social media a black bear has been spotted in the city. Do not approached the animal, as we would like his safe return to the wild. Police were first made aware of the bear when it was seen on Tupper Street. Officers were able to coax the bear to the north end believing it had crossed to the Mac Johnson wildlife area. A second call was received about the animal being observed on the Brock Trail north of Laurier Blvd.
City staff have closed the section of the Brock Trail from Laurier to Centennial Road. The Ministry of Natural Resources was contacted. Given space and time the bear should return to the wild on his own.
Dangerous Driving / Harassment:
On the 23rd of May at 7:20 PM the Brockville Police Service received several traffic complaints about a Red Dodge SUV driving at a high rate of speed and failing to stop for traffic signals. The initial complainant described the driving behavior as “trying to run me off the road”. Several more calls were received about the vehicle with various locations given. Concerned for her own safety the complainant/victim attended the station. The complainant advised police that the driver was an ex-boyfriend. The vehicle was eventually located on King Street West at St. Lawrence Park where police arrested a 26-year-old Brockville resident for harassment and dangerous driving. The male was released with a future court date.
Domestic:
On May 22nd shortly before 4:00 PM the Brockville Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the center of the city. Officers arrived at the residence and arrested a 35-year-old female for assaulting her husband. The male suffered minor injuries. The accused was charged and released with a future court date.
911 call for help:
On the 20th of May at 5:00 AM a 46 year old male called 911 for assistance reporting he had been chased by unknown parties and had fallen off a cliff. The male stated that he was unable to climb out and needed assistance. He could not provide an accurate location, but described his surroundings. The male was located at the Lafarge Pit off of Highway 2 East. Firefighters were called to assist and used a ladder so the male could climb out of the pit. The male was arrested at the scene as he had a warrant for his arrest from the Ontario Provincial Police. He was turned over to the OPP after being treated for minor injuries.
Neighbour Dispute:
On the 20th of May at 6:20 PM, the Brockville Police responded to a neighbour dispute on MacOdrum Drive. A 26-year-old male was arrested as a result of the incident and charged with causing a disturbance. He was released from custody with a future court date.
Drugs:
A traffic stop led to several criminal charges on the 20th of May at 11:37 PM. Officers conducted a traffic stop on Stewart Blvd. near Front Avenue. An unlicensed 23-year-old male driver and a 37-year-old male passenger occupied the vehicle. As result of the stop, both subjects were arrested for being in possession of a controlled substance. A search incident to arrest led to charges for possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine and possession of a prohibited weapon (stun gun). The subjects were also in possession of a replica handgun. They will appear in court at a later to answer to the charges.
Weekend Road Safety:
On Friday May 21st an officer was dedicated to traffic enforcement. That officer laid 17 charges for speeding and improper exhausts. He also had time to help a stranded motorist, pushing their broken down vehicle off the roadway.
On Saturday afternoon May 22nd from two officers were dedicated to bike patrol with their focus on the downtown core for traffic and community patrols along the bike paths. Those officers issued fines for seat belts, drive with hand held communication devices and driving without any insurance. They also charged one person for having open alcohol in a public place.
Theft:
On May 19th at 1:50 PM officers responded to the Metro on King Street West for reports of a 57 year old male that had been arrested by the loss prevention officer for shoplifting. The male was cautioned for the theft and trespassed from the property. The value of the theft was under $20.00.
Disturb the Peace:
On May 19th at 7:30 PM officers responded to a family dispute at an address in the center of the city. One of the involved parties was a 29-year-old male. He was on bail from previous charges, but his surety had since withdrawn. The male was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing. He is not facing any new charges.
Disturbance:
On the 19th of May at 10:47 PM the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a fight that had taken place on King Street at Apple Street. Two male were reported to have been involved in an altercation. The caller stated that one subject struck in the stomach and fell to the ground. Officers attend the area shortly after the call, but did not locate the involved parties.
Unfortunately, the caller was not able to provide a description of those involved.

Road Safety Week:
Canada Road Safety Week is an enforcement-driven initiative led by the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP), and more specifically by the CACP’s Traffic Safety Committee. It is designed to increase public compliance with safe driving measures in order to save lives and reduce injuries on our roads.
This road safety awareness campaign is part of the broader Canada’s Road Safety Strategy 2025, which aims to make Canada’s roads the safest in the world. To this end, the campaign is focused on behaviours that put drivers, passengers, pedestrians and other vulnerable road users most at risk:
The Brockville is committed to road safety. There will be extra traffic patrols this weekend.
Stabbing Update
On May 10th 2021 the Brockville Police investigated a stabbing at King Street West and Apple Street where a 23-year-old male was stabbed in the abdomen by a known suspect. The victim was transported to Kingston General Hospital for treatment of his serious injuries. Since that time the male has been released and is recovering at home.
On May 17, 2021 around 9:00 AM the 20-year-old accused male surrendered to police for the offence. He will appear in court for a bail hearing later today.
Impaired
On May 16th at 6:23 PM the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a fail to remain traffic collision on Dana Street. A parked vehicle had been struck and the suspect vehicle fled the scene. The suspect vehicle was located a short distance away. The 79-year-old male driver was spoken to in regards to the accident. The officers detected an odour of an alcoholic beverage on the driver’s breath. The driver failed a roadside exam and was arrested for impaired operation of a conveyance and drive with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol. The driver later provided two samples of his breath of more than twice the legal limit. He has been charged and will appear in court at a later date. He faces an automatic driver’s license suspension of 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
Assault with a Weapon
On May 16th at 9:00 PM the Brockville Police Service responded to Garden Street between James St. and Pearl St. for reports of a 33-year-old male that had been stabbed. The victim received several wounds to his hands and was transported to the Brockville General Hospital with non-life threatening wounds. Two suspect reportedly had run into a residence on Garden Street. Officers later cleared the residence with the use of the Emergency Response Team, but did not locate the suspects.
There is no threat to the public. The suspects and the victim are known to each other. The assault was the result of an argument that escalated to a physical altercation. The investigation is ongoing at this time. Mischief
A 33-year-old male was arrested for mischief after officers investigated a complaint of property damage to Wall Street resident. The original complaint occurred on May 14th at 10:00 AM when the accused damaged the front door of the residence. Officers received another complaint about the male on 15th at 8:00 AM. The male had returned to the residence and was asleep on the front porch. He was arrested for the offence of mischief and released from custody with a future court date.
Bike Patrol
May 14th – 16th the Brockville Police Service had an officers on bike patrol. The officers were focused on patrolling the Brock Trail and downtown core. This was in response to complaints that the service has had over noise, unruly behavior on the bike path and erratic driving. Over the weekend they issued a total of 30 tickets and warnings,
– 2 Warnings issued for stop sign/ red light violations
– 2 Warnings issued for smoking in a public park
– 2 Warnings issued for Drive with hand held communication devices
– 1 ticket and 2 Warnings for failing to surrender documents
– 1 ticket for failing to display 2 plates
– 1 summons for drive with no insurance
– 1 summons for driving while under suspension
– 2 tickets and 4 warnings for failing to wear seatbelts
– 4 tickets and 2 warnings for muffler related offences
– 2 tickets for open liquor in a public place
Fire
On the 12th of May at 11:31 AM Brockville Fire Department and the Brockville Police Service responded to a vehicle fire on Bramshot Ave. The fire was contained to the vehicle and is not considered suspicious. It is believed that the fire started in the back seat of the vehicle.
Bail Violations
On May 12th at 2:50 PM a 19-year-old male was arrested for breaching his bail conditions. The Brockville Police Service had received a complaint that the male was not abiding by his bail conditions. He was located by officers at Perth Street and King Street West. The male was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Bail Violations
On May 12th at 3:30 PM officers located and arrested a second male for breaching his bail conditions. The service had received a complaint about this 51-year-old male breaching his release conditions. He was also located at Perth Street and King street West. The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Fire
On May 12th at 4:00 PM the Brockville Fire Department(BFD) and the Brockville Police Service responded to a structure fire at Harold’s Demolition on Georgina Street. The fire was contained to the basement and controlled by BFD. It is unknown what caused the fire at this time.
Bail Violations
On May 12th at 8:30 PM officers responded to complaint of a suspicious person on Reynolds Drive. Officers located a 30-year-old male that was breaching his bail conditions by being near a residence that he was prohibited from being at. He was released from custody with a future court date.
Public Intoxication/mischief
A 24-year-old male was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. The male was first dealt with at 9:30 PM for being intoxicated and causing issues at a residence on Buell Street. The male was brought to his residence and left in the care of relatives. Police then received a second call for the male shortly after 10:00 PM as he was now causing issues at that residence. He was located a short distance away on Stuart Street and arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. The male then caused damage to a light in the cell area of the station and is now charged with mischief. When he was sober he was released from custody with a future court date.
Warrants/assault police
A 25-year-old female was arrested shortly after 1:00 AM on May 13th, 2021. Officers were called to an apartment on Central Avenue for an unwanted person. When the officers attended the address they discovered that the female had warrants for her arrest from Brockville and the Ontario Provincial Police. She was arrested and processed on the warrants and was going to be released with a future court date when she assaulted an officer and threatened to kill them when they were off duty. She was then held in custody after a bail hearing.
