Warrants

On April 27th 2021 at 12:30 PM officers stopped a vehicle on North Augusta Road for a routine traffic stop. A 31 year old male, who was wanted by our service for a bail violation, was arrested at the scene.  He was processed and issued a future court date.

 

Disturb the Peace

On the 26th of April just before 6:00 AM a 34 year old female was arrested in the area of King Street West and Buell Street after reports of her yelling on the street.  She was located, arrested and charged for failing to comply with a release order, breach of probation and possession of methamphetamine.  She was held in custody for a bail hearing where she was later released.

 

Drugs/Weapons

A RIDE program conducted on April 27th led to a several charges when a vehicle was stopped at 2:30 AM.  A vehicle coming through the RIDE program was occupied by a 31 year old male who had a warrant for his arrest for failing to comply with a release order.  He was recognized by the officers and arrested.  A search incident to arrest led to the discovery of a quantity of crack cocaine, morphine and a stun gun.  The two other occupants, a 27 year old female and a 32 year old male, were also arrested at that time for being in possession of those items.  The 32 year old male had provided a false identity to officers which led to him being charged with obstructing police.  That 32 year old male was held in custody for a bail hearing.  The other two involved were released with a future court date.

 

Warrants

A 19 year old male was arrested for his outstanding warrants when he was observed by officers on Brock Street on the 24th of April at 12:40 PM.  He was arrested without incident and searched.   Officers located a small quantity of methamphetamine on the male.  He charged and released with a future court date.

 

Breach of Probation and more

On April 25th at 2:00 AM officers observed a 47 year old male riding his bicycle in the area of Water street East.  The male did not have any lights on the bicycle and failed to stop for the officer.  The male tried to make an escape, but he was caught by the officer after a foot chase.  He was on probation with a condition of a curfew from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.  The male was charged with breaching his probation, failing to stop for police and failing to comply with an order made during an emergency.

 

April 22 – 25, 2021 News Release

Mental Health Apprehension

A 51 year old male was dealt with 5 times by officers on the 22nd and 23rd of April.  The last interaction at 10:50 PM resulted in an apprehension under the mental health act.  The male was eventually apprehended after he was observed falling head first into a window of a business on Water Street causing it to break.  The male then climbed onto the patio of Buds on the Bay where he was apprehended. The male grew increasingly agitated towards police asking to be shot. Officers displayed a conducted energy weapon, gaining compliance of the male.

He was brought to the Brockville General Hospital for treatment.

 

Mental Health Apprehension

On April 23rd at 4:35 PM officers responded to a disturbance at a residence in the city’s south end.  A 23 year old male was apprehended by police under the Mental Health Act.  The male had used a baseball bat to destroy furniture inside the house and threaten his mother.  Officers used a conducted energy weapon in a display mode to gain compliance and apprehend the male.  He was brought to the Brockville General Hospital for treatment.

 

Drugs

On April 24th at 2:00 AM officers conducted a routine traffic stop and arrested a 46 year old male for being in possession of Fentanyl.  He was charged and released from custody with a future court date.

April 19 – 20, 2021 News Release

Warrants

On the 19th of April, 2021 a 26 year old male surrendered himself into custody on outstanding warrants for missing court. He was arrested and given a new court date. Later in the day a 37 year old female was arrested for shoplifting, she as well had outstanding warrants for missing court. She was given a new court date, and a $65 fine under the Trespass to Property Act.

A 22 year old male was located downtown, a warrant was issued for his arrest in relation to a Fraud at a local Bank. He was arrested and found on him was a pellet pistol as well as a hunting knife. He was charged with the weapons offences as well as the fraud and given a new court date.

April 16 – 18, 2021 News Release

April 16 – 18, 2021 

On the 16th of April, 2021 a 33 year female was located as a result of a traffic stop. She was arrested and charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.  possession of property obtained by crime and breach of release order. She was released with a new court date.

On the 17th of April, 2021 a 51 year old male was located and arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

On the 18th of April, 2021 a 34 year old female was dealt with twice over 24hr period. First was at 5:30am where she was observed yelling and screaming on King Street, she was located and arrested for a curfew breach and released with a new court date. The second occurrence was in the area of Pearl Street at 1am where she was located causing a disturbance.  She was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing. Subsequent search revealed she was in possession of a small quantity of Crystal Meth.

April 15 – 16, 2021 News Release

The Brockville Police Service received 31 calls for service during the 24 hour period.

Mental Health / Addictions

On the 15th of April, 2021 police received a number of calls of a woman acting strange, yelling, screaming presenting as confused and demonstrating signs of drug use in the downtown area.  Police located the woman and she was subsequently transported, by EMS, to BGH for necessary evaluation and treatment.

April 9 – 11, 2021 News Release

Mischief

On April 9th at 9:29 PM officers responded to a family dispute at a residence on Reynolds Drive.  The victim reported that her 30 year old son was out of control and causing damage to her residence.  Officers located the male out front of the residence and placed him under arrest for Mischief.  The male was released from custody with several conditions and a future court date.

 

Fraud

Attentive staff at the RBC Brockville location detected suspicious activity demonstrated by two individuals on the 9th of April 2021.  Both parties attempted to cash stolen cheques in the amounts of $970 and $750.  A 27 year old female has been arrested for fraud and released with a future court date.

 

Motor Vehicle Collision

A 37 year old man caused damage to street signs at the intersection of Stewart and Central Avenue and fled from the scene.  Unfortunately for him, his licence plate was left at the scene.  Police located the man attempting to fix the damage to his vehicle and charged him with Careless Driving and Failing to Remain at the scene.

 

Warrants/Drugs

A 32 year old Brockville resident was located and arrested on three outstanding warrants.  While searching the female, officers located 6.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine.  The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.  A second female accused, 36 years of age, was arrested on an outstanding probation warrant where 0.5 grams of fentanyl was located.

 

Police Assistance

The Brockville Police Service assisted the Grenville County OPP in the arrest of a 25 year old man.  The man who was wanted by the OPP took off from officers on foot but was located a short distance away and taken into custody after resisting police.  He was turned over to the OPP but will also be charged by the Brockville Police for resist arrest, utter threats, and mischief after spitting in the cruiser and kicking cruiser doors.  The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.        

 

April 6 – 7, 2021 News Release

Missing Person Located

On April 6th shortly before 5:00 PM a report was made to the Brockville Police about a missing 68 year old female.  She was last seen as she left for her walk around 10:00 AM.  The complainant attempted to locate her on his own, but when he was unsuccessful he contacted the service.  A description and photo were obtained and released on social media.  Her normal route of travel was added to the post in attempts to gather witnesses or further information.  Information was provided to officers that she was last seen in the area of North Augusta and Reynolds Drive.  Officers began to focus their search in that area and located the missing person shortly after 9:00 PM.  She was found off of the roadway on Oxford Ave. and transported to the Brockville General Hospital. 

Thank you to the officers that worked so diligently to locate this missing person and thank you to all those that provided relevant information.

April 4 – 6, 2021 News Release

Stolen vehicle

On the 1st of April, 2021at 3:40 PM the complainant contacted the police to report his truck stolen from the Walmart parking lot.

The vehicle is a 2019 Super Duty F-350 King Ranch, black in colour with gold trim and had an Ontario licence plate AZ65982.  It has a small unicorn sticker on the right side of the tailgate.  The vehicle was taken while the complainant was shopping. 

Traffic Enforcement/Beat patrol

Two officers conducted targeted enforcement on Thursday April 1st from 1900-2300.  5 charges under the Highway Traffic Act and one under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act were laid.  The officers then conducted foot patrols on the Brock Trail.  These traffic/beat initiatives will continue.

Theft of bicycle update

“The Brockville Police Service is looking to identify two suspects of a theft occurrence that occurred March 30th between the hours of 6:30-7:00 PM.  Two unknown suspects were caught on camera riding away with the victim’s Cannondale Trail mountain bike, black.  The theft occurred on Brock Street. “

Both suspects have been identified with the assistance of the public.  One 51 year old male subject was arrested on April 5th at 2:30 PM when he was spotted by police on King St. West.  He was charged and released with a future court date.  The second suspect is still outstanding.

Warrants/Drugs

On April 2nd at 9:40 AM officers located a 31 year old male on George Street who had a warrant for his arrest.  The male was arrested by officers and searched.  The search led to charges of being in possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking.  Officers had discovered a quantity of cocaine and methamphetamine.  He was charged and released with a future court date.

Shoplift

On April 4th 2021 at 6:07 PM officers responded to a theft complaint at the 1000 Islands Mall Shopper’s Drug Mart.  A 28 year old male and a 26 year old female from the Toronto area were arrested and charged with theft.  Both subjects had fled on foot, but were located in the area by officers.  The two had warrants for their arrest from the Ontario Provincial Police who took custody of the subjects after they were processed for the theft charges.
