Warrants

On the 22nd of October, 2019 a 34 year old male was arrested at court in relation to charges for breaching his recognizance by not attending to a bail supervision program appointment.  He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

On the 22nd of October, 2019, two Search Warrants were executed at a residence and a business in the south end of the city. This was done with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police, the Biker Enforcement Unit, the Belleville Police service and our local Emergency Response Team. A 38 year old male was arrested in the residence and has been charged with Commission of offence for Criminal Organization, Robbery with violence, Break and Enter, Assault cause bodily harm, Assault with a weapon, and careless storage of a firearm. He will remain in custody for a bail hearing this afternoon. These charges are a continuation of the ongoing police investigation, titled Project Charlie which began as a joint forces initiative into organized crime and the local drug trade.  The following photograph depicts some of the items seized from the warrants which include; several Motorcycle club vests, long guns, ammunition and a panel to a bullet proof vest.

 

October 21, 2019 News Release

Weekend Arrests

On the 20th of October 2019 at 9:53 a.m. a 34 year old male attend the Brockville Police Service to turn himself in on a warrant. The warrant was issued for the male after he failed to attend court in answer to a fraud charge in August of 2019.  The male had allegedly deposited altered cheques for the initial charge of fraud.  He was released from custody with a future court date.

In the afternoon on October 18th, 2019 officers were made aware of persons trespassing on CN property near Havelock Street.  The officers attended the area and located a 35 year old female on the property.  The female was wanted by our service for breaching her bail conditions.  She was arrested without incident and held in custody for a bail hearing.

On October 19th 2019 at 6:19 p.m. officers were on routine patrol when they spotted a 20 year old local female.  The female was known to the officers who were aware that she had an outstanding warrant for her arrest for failing to attend court.  The female was arrested and searched.  She was found to be in possession of a counterfeit $20 US bill.  She was cautioned for being in possession of the bill and released with a future court date.

 

October 18, 2019 News Release

Speeder

The Brockville Police Service received a complaint that one particular vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed on Kensington Parkway.  The vehicle had been observed by the complainant speeding in excess of 90 km/h through a school zone.  The complainant knew the speed of the vehicle as he would watch it travel through a digital speed sign that had been erected in the area. 

On Thursday night officers went out and setup to observe traffic in the area.  At 11:26 p.m. the officers observed an older dark green Toyota Corolla travelling north bound past Ange-Gabriel School at a high rate of speed. They clocked the vehicle on radar at 111 km/h (61 km/h over the posted limit). The vehicle was followed and stopped at the driver’s residence. The driver was a 17 year old male.  He was charged with stunt driving, license was seized and vehicle impounded for 7 days.

 

Fraud

A 33 year old male was arrested and charged with using a stolen credit card and theft.  The male who is well known to police was observed using the card that had been reported stolen earlier in the week.  He was located this morning, arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing.

October 17, 2019 News Release

Breach of Conditional Sentence

The 39 year old female that was involved in the accident reported on October 15, 2019 has been found to be breaching her conditional sentence.  A conditional sentence is an imprisonment (jail) sentence, except that the offender serves the sentence outside of jail, under strict, jail-like conditions. Conditional sentences are sometimes called “house arrest” because they often require an offender to spend all or part of the sentence in their house. The female was found to be in possession of non-medically prescribed drugs during that investigation.  Part of her conditional sentence was not to be in possession of drugs.  She was held in custody for a bail hearing yesterday.

October 15, 2019 News Release

Motor Vehicle Collision:

On the 15th of October, 2019 at approximately 3:15 pm the Brockville Police as well as Brockville Fire, and Paramedics received a call regarding a Motor Vehicle Accident that occurred on James Street East involving a black GMC pickup truck. The 38 year old female driver was taken to the Brockville General Hospital for assessment on her minor injuries. She was arrested for Dangerous Operation and breach of recognizance. October 15, 2019 News Release

The Brockville Police Service had a total of 132 calls for service over the course of the weekend.  There were a couple of minor disturbances at a downtown local establishment, a couple of individuals that were wanted and were located by mobile Patrol Officers.

A couple of RIDE (Reduced Impaired Driving Everywhere) check points were set up over the weekend where approximately 150 vehicles were checked by police. Issued were a couple minor Highway Traffic Act tickets issued, and no Criminal Code Charges.

 

Warrants

Located over the weekend was on Friday October 11th a 25 year old male turned himself into courts for outstanding charges of flight from police, and several breach charges. This stems from an incident in June where he fled from officers who were conducting a RIDE check.

 

Drugs/Traffic Stop

On the 12th of October, 2019 shortly after 10:00 pm our K9 officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for improper tail lights. Investigation revealed, and with the assistance of his partner Diesel resulted in the occupants being arrested for possession of a controlled substance. A quantity of hydromorphone and methamphetamine was located in the vehicle. A 21 year old female and a 47 year old male were charged with possession and released with a future court date.

 

Warrants

On the 13th of October, 2019 at 3:30 pm an officer on general patrol located a known 34 year old male that was wanted for a domestic related incident from the beginning of October. He was arrested for break and enter, assault, mischief and breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing.

On the 15th of October, 2019 at 2:40 am a local 40 year old male was located while officers were on general patrol. He was wanted for failing to attend for court in late September. He was held for a bail hearing.

October 11, 2019 News Release

Breach of Probation

On October 9th, 2019 at 11:15 in the morning the Brockville Police received a complaint from a local 66 year old female reporting that she had seen her ex-husband down town. At that time it was reported that he yelled out at her contrary to being on a no-communication condition with her.  The 66 year old male was located and arrested for the breach; he was released with a future court date.

 

Driving Complaint/Breach

On October 10th, 2019 an officer on general patrol located a vehicle operating without a proper licence plate light in the area of Brockville Collegiate. A traffic stop was conducted of the vehicle which determined the driver did not have a valid licence, it had been suspended for various reasons. He was also on a police issued undertaking that he not operate a motor vehicle. The 33 year old male was arrested for the breach. Further search of the vehicle located a small quantity of Cannabis. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

Warrants

On the 10th of October, 2019 the Brockville Police received a call from the Kingston Police Force advising they had 38 year old female in custody on a failing to appear in court warrant that was issued out of Brockville. Officers attended to Kingston and returned her back to court to attend a bail hearing on October 11th, 2019. The original charges are breach of recognizance that she was appearing in court for.

October 8, 2019 News Release

Drugs/break and enter tools/breach of probation

On Saturday October 5, 2019 at 1:20 a.m. a 35 year old male was observed walking on Parkedale Ave. with two mountain bikes.  One of the bikes was still in its original packing material.  When officers questioned the male as to the ownership of the bikes, he could not provide any information.  He was arrested for being in possession of property obtained by crime.   A search incident to arrest led to the discovery of a small quantity of methamphetamine, over 100 keys and tools.  The keys had been taken from a downtown building apartment and were returned to the owner.  He was charged with being in possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a controlled substance and breach of probation.  The male was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

Theft

On the 7th of October 2019 at 11:50 a.m., a 32 year old male has been charged with theft after he was identified through security footage from the public library.  The male had taken a quantity of cash from the victim when they were distracted.  The victim contacted police and the suspect was identified.  He was later arrested and charged with theft.

 

Charges for fire

At 12:37 a.m. on the 2nd of October 2019 the Brockville Police Service along with the Brockville Fire Department responded to a fire at the rear of the Second Time Around store on Parkedale Ave.  The fire was contained to a trailer parked at the rear of the building. 

The investigation has led to charges of mischief and arson against a 12 year old male and a 14 year old male.  The will appear in court at a later date.

October 4, 2019 News Release

Public Intoxication

On the 2nd of October 2019 at 2:00 p.m. officers were called to the area in front of the United Counties building on Front Avenue for an intoxicated male.  Officers located a 48 year old male in an intoxicated state.  He was arrested for his own safety and held in custody until sober.

 

Other news

In a 48 hour period from October 2nd – October 4th, officers from our service responded to 93 calls for service.  The calls included 4 motor vehicle accidents, 3 mental health apprehensions, 3 arrests for outstanding warrants and several landlord tenant disputes.
