November 8 – 11, 2019 News Release

Flight from police:

On the 9th of November, 2019 at shortly after midnight officers on general patrol observed a vehicle west bound on King Street in the City of Brockville committing Highway traffic Act violation. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the vehicle fled from police and pulled quickly into a residence in the south end of the city. A 53 year old male was arrested for flight from police and was released with a future court date.

 

Domestics:

On the 8th of November, 2019 shortly after 2:00 pm a 40 year old female attended to the Police station to report a domestic that has been on-going for a couple months. The 25 year old male was arrested on the 9th of November, 2019 for the offences of Domestic Assault, Forcible Confinement, Overcoming resistance by attempting to choke, Utter Threats, Break and Enter and Mischief. He will be held for a bail hearing. The female received minor injuries.

On the 10th of November, 2019 at 7:30 am police received a call regarding a domestic in the center of town. Upon arrival it was learned that a 36 year old male had assaulted his 32 year old female partner and damaged some of her property. He was arrested for the offence of Domestic assault and mischief. He was released with a future court date. The female received minor injuries.

November 7, 2019 News Release

Traffic Stop/Drugs:

On the 6th of November, 2019 at 10:50 in the morning the Brockville Police conducted a traffic stop in the south end of town. Two men aged 31 and 38 were arrested. They will be charged with 6 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, various breaches and Highway Traffic Act related charges. The drugs included in the search were Fentanyl, Crack, Speed, Crystal Methamphetamine, Hydromorphone, and oxycodone. The street value of the drugs was estimated at over $8000. They will be held in custody for a bail hearing.

November 5th, 2019 News Release

Traffic Stop/Drugs:

On Monday the 4th of November, 2019 at approximately 8:45pm members of the Brockville police engaged a White Dodge pickup due to its driving habits in the south end of town. Two males fled from the vehicle into the Rexall where they were immediately arrested. One of the males was on bail conditions with a curfew; the second male was on probation with numerous conditions. As a result of the arrest a large quantity of various drugs including Fentanyl, Crystal Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Hydromorphone and Marihuana were seized which yield a street value of over $40,000. The vehicle also had weapons and ammunition inside it. A 54 year old male and a 41 year old male were charged with weapons offences, breaches of court orders, as well as possession of stolen property and Cannabis Act charges. The 54 will also be charged with 4 counts of possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking. They were both held for a bail hearing.

November 4, 2019 News Release

Warrants

On the 4th of November, 2019 police attended to a residence in the center of town for a call of a fight about to start. Upon arrival police located 2 individuals who were wanted by the Brockville Police.  A 46 year old male that was wanted from a Domestic Dispute, he was held in custody for a bail hearing. The second one was at 27 year old female for failing to appear for court. She was released with a future court date. There was no fight, and no injuries to report.

November 1 – 3, 2019 Incidents

Over the course of the weekend 144 calls for service were answered. These are some of the highlights:

Fraud/Personation

On the 1st of November, 2019 at 11:00 am police responded to a bank in the north end of town where a suspect was attempting to open an account with fake ID. The 65 year old male from Quebec was located. He will be charged with Identity Theft x 3, Fraud Under $5000, Proceeds of Crime, Fail to comply with undertaking, Personation x 2 and Utter forged document. He will be held for bail hearing.

 

Break and Enter

On the 1st of November, 2019 Brockville Police received a call regarding a break and enter into an apartment in the north end of town. Discovered was a window smashed as well as a cat missing from within. A 30 year old male was arrested on the 4th of November, 2019 where he was arrested for break and enter and fail to comply with probation. He will be held for a bail hearing.

 

Theft:

On the 1st of November, 2019 at 3:00 pm a 61 year old male and a 66 year old female were located at a north end store shoplifting items totally almost $200. They were both charged with theft under $500 and released with a future court date.

 

Stolen Vehicles

On the 2nd of November, 2019 shortly after 8:00 am, Brockville Police received information from the OPP in regards to a theft in Maitland and a suspect vehicle involved. Police located the vehicle at a residence in the centre of town. The 42 year old male was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property x 3, possession of counterfeit money and drive while under suspension. He was released with a future court date. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Ottawa in October.

On the 2nd of November, 2019 shortly after 2:00pm a second stolen vehicle was located at a residence in the centre of town (not the same one in the previous incident). This vehicle was stolen out of Gananoque. The two occupants a 23 year old male and a 21 year old female were arrested and charged. The 21 year old will face charges of possession of methamphetamine and was released with a future court date. The 23 year old will face charges of possession stolen property, operation while prohibited, possession of a weapon, and fail to comply with probation order. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

 

 

October 31 – November 1, 2019 Incidents

Warrants

On the 31st of October, 2019 a 47 year old female turned herself into the Brockville Police Station for an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with a recognizance and an undertaking. She was released with a future court date. Shortly thereafter a 33 year old female turned herself into the Brockville Police for an outstanding warrant of failing to appear to court on drug related charges. She was released with a future court date.

On the 31st of October, 2019 a 33 year old male was located where he was arrested from a break and enter investigation from an incident on October 15th at an apartment complex in the south end of the city. He was released with a future court date for the charges of use revoked credit card, break and enter, fail to comply with probation, and theft of a credit card.

Theft

On the 30th of October, 2019 a theft was reported to the Brockville Police from a south end construction site. A number of tools were stolen from a lock box that was broken into. These tools were located at a local Pawn Shop. The 35 year old female was identified as being responsible and has been charged with possession of stolen property and released with a future court date. 

October 30 – 31, 2019 News Release

Breach:

On the 30th of October, 2019 a 36 year old female was required to sign in to the Brockville Police Service between the hours of 8:00 am – 4:00 pm from charges where she was released on a recognizance of bail.  She had been late on several occasions prior to this date and was warned. She attended the station at approximately 5:00 pm and was arrested for the breach. She was held in custody pending a show cause hearing.

Warrant:

On the 31st of October, 2019 a 53 year old female was located downtown where a call for service was placed to the Brockville Police regarding a suspicious person. She was arrested on a warrant for failing to appear in court. She was held in custody pending a show cause hearing.

Hit and Run:

On the 30th of October, 2019 at approximately 3:30 pm in the parking lot behind Beattie Dodge there was a fail to remain accident involving a Grey Toyota 4×4. October 29, 2019 News Release

Curfew Breach:

On the 10th of September, 2019 the 45 year old male was released on charges with a condition that he remain within his residence between the hours of 10:00 pm and 6:00 am.  On the 28th of October, 2019 while officers were out on general patrol at 11:00 pm they observed the male not abiding by his curfew condition. He was arrested for the breach; upon searching the male officers located a small quantity of Methamphetamine. He was released with a future court date for the drugs as well as the curfew breach.

Weekend of October 25 – 27, 2019 News Release

Domestic:

On the 25th of October, 2019 at 4:00 pm the Brockville Police responded to a domestic dispute in the north end of town. The 46 year old that was within the residence was wanted out of Ottawa for a criminal code offence. He was located in the bedroom of the residence arming himself with a wooden board. Attempts were made to affect his arrest. A conducted energy weapon (taser) was used to assist officers in gaining control. Prior to police arrival he had swung the board at the victim which resulted in the original call to the police. He was arrested for assault with a weapon, and assault with intent to resist arrest.  He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.  The victim was not injured.

Obstruct/assault police:

On the 26th of October, 2019 at approximately 2:00 am officer on general patrol located a female on King Street operating her bike without proper lighting. Upon asking her for her identification she provided a false name. Officers attempted to arrest her for obstruct, she bit the officers arm as she was trying to flee however was quickly caught. While police were attempting to place handcuffs on the 22 year old she continued to resist and kick the officers as well as spit on them.  She will be charged with 2 counts of Assault a peace officer, obstruct police and fail to comply with undertaking. She will be held for a bail hearing, and the officer suffered minor injuries to his arm.

Shoplifter:

On the 26th of October, 2019 at 10:00 pm the Brockville Police received a complaint regarding a shoplifter at a store in the north end of the city. The 50 year old male was observed by loss prevention selecting several items and concealing them within his clothing. He was arrested by loss prevention and turned over to the police. He was released with a future court date for a charge of theft under $5000.

Mischief:

On the 27th of October, 2019 at approximately 9:00 am Brockville Police responded to a disturbance at a local Tim Horton’s regarding a suspicious 32 year old female who attempted to get into a customer’s car and demanding the keys from the driver. She was arrested and charged with Mischief as well as breach of probation. She was released with a future court date.
