News Release – August 10/11, 2025

Multiple Vehicles Stolen from a Local Dealership

On August 11, 2025, at approximately 2:00 am, Brockville Police responded to an alarm activation at Matt’s Auto Service on William Street. The alarm system reported multiple motion sensor triggers at the location.

Upon arrival, officers observed a suspect vehicle fleeing the scene. The vehicle, described as a light blue Audi, was last seen heading eastbound on Eleanor Street. Officers attempted to follow but temporarily lost sight of the vehicle. It was later determined that the Audi was registered to an individual from Etobicoke, Ontario.

Shortly thereafter, the vehicle was located after it had left the roadway at the east end of Eleanor Street, continued north through a field, and came to a stop in a creek. The suspect(s) fled the scene on foot before officers arrived. This vehicle is suspected to be connected to other criminal activity in nearby jurisdictions, which is currently under investigation.

During the same time frame, it was discovered that two additional vehicles had been stolen from Matt’s Auto. The suspects had broken into the building to access keys and fled northbound on William Street in the stolen vehicles. One of these vehicles was later recovered near Stewart Boulevard and Centennial Road after it collided with a road sign. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.

At this time, the investigation remains ongoing. Officers have recovered the original suspect vehicle (Audi) and one of the stolen vehicles (a Nissan). One vehicle remains outstanding: a 2012 grey Buick Regal.

Break and Enter at a Local Gas Bar

On August 10, 2025, at about 1:30am, police received a 911 call regarding suspects breaking into R&P Petroleum at 690 Stewart Boulevard.

Officers attended quickly to the scene and found that the suspects had left just prior to their arrival. Investigation revealed that the building had been entered and multiple food and beverage items were stolen. A full inventory of items is still being composed.

Video surveillance revealed that the two suspects had pulled up to the front of the store in a black 2021, Honda Pilot, that was reported stolen out of New Brunswick. The suspects covered their faces with masks and then exited the vehicle to make entry into the building. One suspect attempted to block the camera by discharging a fire extinguisher while the second suspect made entry. Within only a few minutes, the suspects exited the store activating the alarm and fleeing the scene.

Multiple items were seized for forensic identification purposes and the investigation is continuing. News Release – August 7th, 2025

Clarification of Brock Street Park Creek Incident

The Brockville Police Service has been made aware of issues circulating on social media regarding an incident on the Brock Trail on June 5th, 2025 where a 47-year-old, deceased male, was located in the creek near the Brock Street Park. 

The investigation conducted by the Brockville Police Service and the Office of the Chief Coroner has confirmed that the incident does not pose any threat to public safety, and that foul play is not suspected in the death. 

Three individuals have subsequently been charged with offences relating to the use of the debit card belonging to the 47-year-old, deceased male.  Investigators have confirmed that this activity is not connected to the cause of death.

Regarding information that is released to the public, the Brockville Police Service takes many factors into consideration and has the deepest concern for public safety. These various factors are not steadfast, routine, or appropriate in every case. The following are factors that are considered but not limited to; privacy and dignity of victims and their families, acts of a Good Samaritan, investigative integrity, empathy towards those with mental illness and/or addiction, the need to publicize information to identify potential victims of crime and give them courage to come forward, and most importantly, the level of risk to public safety.

The Brockville Police Service is passionate about the safety of our community and the information that is important to share. We will continue to do so with the utmost empathy and concern.

Arrests Made after Dug Trafficking Investigation

On August 7, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., members of the Brockville Police Service Intelligence Unit, along with uniformed patrol officers, conducted a motor vehicle stop on Kent Boulevard. The stop was initiated as part of an investigation into drug trafficking.

As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old, female and a 32-year-old, male were arrested. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the seizure of the following items:

  • 28 grams of methamphetamine
  • 0.5 grams of fentanyl
  • 5 grams of cocaine
  • Digital scales
  • Canadian currency
  • Packaging materials
  • A cellular phone

Charges:

  • The 26-year-old female was charged with:
    • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
    • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
    • Failure to comply with probation
  • The 32-year-old male was charged with:
    • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
    • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
    • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

Both individuals were released on conditions and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Intimate Partner Violence

On August 7, 2025, at about 3:45pm, police received a call in regards to a male pushing a female in the area of Giant Tiger on Park Street.

Investigation revealed that a female and a 36-year-old, male were near the train tracks at the rear of Giant Tiger while in a verbal altercation. While they were shouting at one another, the male shoved the female to the ground. She attempted to get back up and when doing so, the male shoved her back down to the ground again.

Officers located the involved subjects nearby and the male was placed under arrest. It was learned that the female received minor, non-life-threatening injuries the male was bound by a probation order with a condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He was held in custody for a bail hearing after being charged with assault and failing to comply with probation. 

 

News Release – August 1st – August 4th, 2025

Intimate Partner Violence Leads to Arrest

On August 1, 2025, at about 3:00pm, police received a 911 call reporting a dispute between a couple at their residence on Balmoral Place. Information was that a female had been assaulted.

Investigation revealed that the female victim and her 49-year-old, boyfriend, had been in an argument. This escalated to the point that the male grabbed the female by the hair and neck and threw her to the floor. The subject was arrested and the female received non-life-threatening injuries.

The subject was held for a bail hearing after being charged with assault and failing to comply with his probation conditions.

Life Saving Measures Implemented During Overdose

On August 4, 2025, at approximately 12:00 p.m., police officers were present at Lanark Leeds Grenville Mental Health and Addictions, located at 25 Front Avenue, when they were alerted to a male individual in medical distress.

Officers promptly responded and located the individual experiencing an apparent overdose. Staff members were already administering CPR when officers arrived. Police assisted by taking over CPR efforts and ensured Narcan was administered. A defibrillator was prepared but ultimately not activated, as the individual began to regain consciousness during these life-saving measures.

Paramedics arrived shortly thereafter and provided their expertise. The individual was transported to hospital for continued treatment.

This is a great story highlighting the efforts made by staff members and officers, in saving this individuals life.  

 

News Release – July 2025 Police Involvement

July 2025 Police Involvement

In July 2025, the Brockville Police Service received 1,701 calls for service. The following are just some of the results:

  • 70 arrests
  • 163 Criminal Code charges
  • 157 traffic related charges

 Out of the 70 Criminal Code charges, 19 are in relation to failure to comply with conditions of bail release or probation order.

News Release – July 18 – 20th, 2025

Impaired Operation by Drugs

On July 20, 2025, at about 7:00am, police received a 911 call in regards to two males passed out in a vehicle, with one behind the wheel, in the area of the Petro Canada on Stewart Boulevard. It was also learned that the driver was asleep with a bong in their lap.

Officers arrived and found the driver as described. The driver was identified to be a 44-year-old, male out of Cornwall. They were assessed with a Standard Field Sobriety Test, which resulted in him performing poorly. A search of the vehicle yielded firearm ammunition that was not properly stored. He was arrested and taken to the Brockville Police Service for additional testing by a Drug Recognition Expert. It was confirmed that the driver was in fact impaired by drugs. His driver’s licence was suspended after being charged with operation while impaired by drugs, careless storage of ammunition and released with a future court date. 

Assault on a City By-law Officer Results in Charges

On July 18, 2025, at about 12:15pm, police received a 911 call in relation to a Brockville City By-law officer being assaulted in the area of the Library.

Investigation revealed that the By-law officer approached a 48-year-old, male in regards to him parking his vehicle in an Accessible Parking space, without a permit. At that time, the subject became irate as he began to scream in the By-law officer’s face and pushed him, knocking his phone out of his hands after attempting to record the interaction. The subject then left the scene shortly after and was not seriously injured.

The 48-year-old, male was located a short time later and placed under arrest. He was released with a future court date after being charged with assault.   

News Release – July 15th – 18th, 2025

Impaired Driving Arrest Made

On July 15, 2025, at about 4:30pm, police received information about a driver who appeared to be intoxicated and struck cement barriers at the entrance of the Laurier Hill parking lot. It was described by witnesses on scene that the driver was attempting to leave the scene. He was fortunately partially blocked in the area and unable to flee.

Police arrived shortly after and arrested the 36-year-old, male driver for impaired driving. He was transported to the Brockville Police Service for testing, which confirmed he was impaired. As a result, his licence was suspended, vehicle impounded and charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80mg. He was released with a future court date.

Suspended Driver Arrested

On July 18, 2025, officers from the Brockville Police Service were conducted a motor vehicle stop shortly after midnight, and found the owner had unconfirmed status for insurance on the vehicle. The driver was spoken to and it was determined that they were giving a false name to police; however, the driver was recognized by one of the involved officers. It was determined that they were a 24-year-old, male with outstanding criminal charges. This subject was confirmed to be the owner of the vehicle.

Investigation revealed that the driver in fact had a suspended driver’s licence. The subject was placed under arrest for driving while suspended and obstruct a peace officer. The vehicle was towed and the subject was later released with a court date for the offences of obstruct peace officer, driving while under suspension, fail to change address on permit and fail to surrender insurance card.   

News Release – July 11th – 16th, 2025

Rider of Electric Dirt Bike Charged

The Brockville Police Service has received an increase of complaints regarding electric bikes, particularly dirt bikes, riding in a behaviour that is a nuisance and dangerous to pedestrians.

On July 11, 2025, at about 9:30am, a youth was operating an electric dirt bike in the area of Parkedale Avenue and North Augusta Road. The bike was found to be speeding and was not displaying licence plates. The officer stopped the bike and identified the rider, revealing that they did not have a valid driver’s licence nor insurance.

The bike was removed from the roadway and the youth was charged with unlawfully drive off road vehicle on a highway, drive off road vehicle – no insurance, drive off road vehicle – no number plate and drive motor vehicle – no licence. The driver was issued a future court date and parents notified.   

Arrest Made in Relation to Impaired Driving

On July 14, 2025, at about 1:00am, police received a complaint regarding a male who appeared to be intoxicated in the area of the Brockville General Hospital.

Investigation revealed that a 56-year-old, male and his girlfriend, were travelling out East from their home in the Pickering area. While on their way, they entered into Brockville to attend the hospital as the female was believed to be experiencing a medical emergency in relation to substance abuse. When officers arrived, they located the male in the vehicle while running. The subject was arrested for impaired driving and taken to the Brockville Police Service for further testing. There, it was confirmed that the male was impaired and driving with over 80mg of alcohol in his blood.

During his time in custody, the male was not cooperative with police. He proceeded to self-harm by striking his head off of the cruiser partition, door and scratching himself while in cells. Due to this he was taken to the Brockville General hospital for assistance. Once he stable, he was issued a future court date after being charged with impaired operation and impaired operation – blood alcohol concentration over 80mg. The vehicle was impounded and driver’s licence suspended.

Arrest Made After Assault with a Weapon

On July 13, 2025, at about 1:00pm, police received a call regarding a disturbance that took place at an apartment on King Street East. Information was that a person had been assaulted with bear mace.

Investigation revealed that two subjects were involved in an argument that escalated to the point that a 29-year-old, male sprayed the victim in the face with bear mace. After the assault, the subject fled the area. The victim received minor, non-life-threatening injuries.

On July 16, 2025, at about 6:00pm, the accused subject turned himself into police for arrest. He was held for a bail hearing after being charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and mischief – interfere with the lawful enjoyment of property.   

News Release – July 8th, 2025

Disturbance Leads to Multiple Arrests and Charges

On July 8, 2025, at about 9:00pm, police received multiple 911 regarding a disturbance in the area of James Street and Bartholomew Street. The initial information was that a male was being chased by at least one subject, possibly others, after threatening to stab him.

Officers attended the area and located all subjects involved spread within the area of Orchard Street and King Street East. Investigation revealed that one previous to the call, there was a group of youths ranging from the ages of about 13 to 21, years of age. Three males in the group engaged into an argument that escalated into a minor physical altercation. During that dispute, the 21-year-old, male subject had threatened to stab the 19-year-old, victim and then proceeded to slap him in the face. It was learned that around that same time, another 13-year-old, male subject threatened to stab the same victim and displayed a knife that was concealed in his waistband. This is when the victim fled the area with the two subjects giving chase. This sparked further commotion and other youths began to run within the area adding to the disturbance.

As a result, the two subjects responsible were arrested. The 21-year-old, subject was released on conditions and a future court date, after being charged with assault and uttering threats. The 13-year-old, subject was held for a bail hearing for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and uttering threats. Luckily, no one was seriously injured in this incident.   

Structure Fire

 On July 8, 2025, at about 8:00am, police received a call regarding a structure fire at a residence on Buell Street. When officers arrived on scene, they assisted with traffic control and keeping people back from the danger area to allow the Brockville Fire Department the space to complete their tasks.

The affected residence was a duplex and it was learned that the fire had actually spread from one half of the structure and into the attached side. All residents were removed form the building and Brockville Fire was able to gain control and prevent the fire from spreading further. The fire was later deemed not to be suspicious and luckily, no one was injured.

 

News Release – June 27th – July 7th, 2025

Impaired Driving Leads to Arrest

On June 27, 2025, at about 8:00am, police received information that a 63-year-old, male, who was a construction worker, showed up to a worksite that morning and appeared to have been drinking. It was confirmed that the worker was operating a vehicle on the way to the worksite.

Officers located the male and demanded a breath sample for testing. That testing resulted in a fail, and the subject was arrested. They were taken to the Brockville Police Service for additional testing, which confirmed he had been operating the vehicle while impaired. The subject’s driver’s licence was suspended and he was charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration over 80mg. He was released with a future court date.

Intimate Partner Violence

On June 28, 2025, at about 11:00pm, police received a 911 call indicating that an assault had taken place in a common area of the 80 Water Street apartment building.

Investigation revealed that a woman and her 65-year-old, boyfriend were involved in an argument in a hallway of the building. This dispute was witnessed by another resident in the building who observed the subject strike his girlfriend across the face with an open hand. The witness attempted to step in and intervene, which resulted in the subject attempting to strike them as well. Luckily, the witness was able to move out of the way to avoid harm and the victim who was struck received non-life-threatening injuries.

The 65-year-old, male was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and held for a bail hearing.

Intimate Partner Violence

On June 30, 2025, at about 6:30pm, police received a 911 call where it was believed a female could be heard describing a dispute taking place. It was learned that the location was in the area of Macodrum Drive.

Investigation revealed that a female and her 26-year-old, husband were involved in an argument that turned physical. At that time, the male subject had struck the female in the side of her head with his hand. She received non-life-threatening, injuries.

The male was arrested and charged with assault. He was released with conditions and a future court date.   

Arrest Made Regarding Impaired Driving

On July 2, 2025, at about 1:15am, a motor vehicle stop was made in relation to a traffic violation in the area of Stewart Boulevard and Jefferson Drive. The driver was identified to be a 19-year-old, male and it was believed that they had been consuming alcohol.

A roadside screening breath sample was taken and the testing resulted in a fail. At that time the subject was placed under arrest and taken to the Brockville Police Service for further testing. There it was confirmed that the driver was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. The vehicle was impounded and the subject’s driver’s licence was suspended. Additionally, they were charged with two Highway Traffic Act offences in addition to operation while impaired and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80mg. They were released with a court date.

Arrest Made After an Investigation into a Disturbance

On July 6, 2025, at about 3:45pm, police were notified of a male who was attempting to kick in a door to a residence at an apartment building on Fairknowe Drive.

Investigation revealed that a 24-year-old, male had previously been in a relationship with one of the female tenants in the building. He had been asked to leave the property and not return earlier in the morning on the day of the call to police. However, the male had returned in the afternoon and began kicking the door in an attempt to break in and enter the apartment. The subject was found to be on probation as well with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The male subject was located quickly by officers on their arrival and placed under arrest. He was held for a bail hearing after being charged with break and enter and failing to comply with probation.

Arrest Made After Stolen Vehicle was Recovered

On July 7, 2025, at about 12:00pm, an officer attempted a motor vehicle stop in the area of James Street West and Victoria Avenue, on a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of the Toronto area. The suspect vehicle did not stop and continued travelling in an attempt to evade police. The officer did not pursue the vehicle for public safety reasons; however, it was noticed that the vehicle entered a secluded area, off the roadway, at the rear of Tim Horton’s on William Street.

The officer attended shortly after to that area and observed that the suspect vehicle had been abandoned and suspects fled on foot. Officers gave chase on foot and arrested a 40-year-old, female; however, officers were unable to locate any other involved suspects. The subject arrested was found to be currently bound by two separate probation orders.

The 40-year-old, female was held for bail after being charged with possession of property obtained by crime and two counts of failing to comply with probation.    

News Release – June 27th, 2025

Male Arrested on Multiple Outstanding Charges

A 31-year-old, local male, was wanted by the Brockville Police Service in relation to many charges. These charges revolved around intimate partner violence and included, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assault
  • Uttering threats
  • Harassing communications
  • Unlawfully in a dwelling
  • Mischief under $5,000.00
  • Fail to comply with release order (bail)
  • Fail to comply with probation

The subject had been arrested on multiple occasions and released on bail, where he would continue to commit offences in complete disregard for his court-imposed conditions. Police made many attempts to locate the subject, and he repeatedly evaded police.

On June 24, 2025, at about 7:15am, police located the subject at a residence on Central Avenue. He was placed under arrest for the variety of outstanding charges and additionally charged with two counts of fail to comply with release order and two counts of failing to comply with probation. This brings the subject’s outstanding charge count to 49 criminal charges, since March this year. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Two Subjects Arrested After a Sword Fight *photo attached*

On June 24, 2025, at about 11:00pm, police received a report of a 33-year-old, male and a 49-year-old, male who had been involved in a sword fight. The incident took place at an apartment building on King Street East.

Investigation revealed that the two were roommates and they were involved in an altercation. As it escalated, the two resorted to a physical confrontation with swords. After the altercation ended, one subject locked themselves in back room of the apartment.

Officers found both subjects to have received multiple injuries and wounds. These were considered non-life-threatening; however, did require medical attention. Both males were arrested for their actions and held for bail. Below are the charges:

33-year-old, subject.

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Uttering threats
  • Two counts of fail to comply with probation

49-year-old, subject.

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

Wanted Male Arrested After Altercation with Officers

A 40-year-old local male, who was wanted on an arrest warrant for multiple offences and was not complying with his bail conditions, was taken into custody following a series of incidents involving flight from police and assault.

Officers from the Brockville Police Service had made several previous attempts to locate and arrest the individual, during which he repeatedly fled from police. On June 24, 2025, he evaded officers in a vehicle, resulting in additional charges for flight from police.

On June 26, 2025, officers again attempted to apprehend the suspect. He was located on the outskirts of Brockville, where officers attempted to contain his vehicle. The suspect fled once more, ramming police vehicles in the process and returning to Brockville. He then went to a family member’s residence, stole another vehicle, and fled the scene.

At approximately 9:00 p.m., officers located the stolen vehicle unoccupied in the Walmart parking lot on Parkedale Avenue. The subject was seen approaching the vehicle on foot. Upon noticing the officers, he attempted to flee into the store. Officers intercepted him at the entrance, where he threw a can of spray paint at one of them, striking the officer in the face and causing an injury that required medical attention.

The suspect was arrested and taken into custody. He was held for a bail hearing and is now facing the following charges related to the events of June 26, 2025:

  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Dangerous operation of a conveyance
  • Flight from police
  • Fail to stop after an accident
  • Resist arrest
  • Assault a peace officer
  • Two counts of failing to comply with a release order
