August 22nd Incidents

Mischief

On August 22nd, at approximately 11:20 am, Brockville Police responded to a north end residence for a mischief complaint.

Unknown person(s) had spray painted the side of the garage. The words, “MERK ONE” made up part of the graffiti. Police also took a similar type of complaint later in the day from Vanier Public school.

Public Intoxication

On August 22nd at approximately 11:35 pm, Brockville Police responded to the area of City Hall for an intoxicated male.

Police located a 46 year old male, from the Ottawa area. He was arrested and charged with public intoxication and released when sober with a fine.

Fail to Attend

On August 21st at approximately 9:25 pm, Brockville Police attended the Brockville Jail for a male party who failed to attend for his weekend sentence.

The local, 47 year old, turned himself into Police the next day. He was arrested and charged for being unlawfully at large. He was remanded into custody and will appear in bail court later today.

August 20th Incidents

Weapon and Drug Charges

On August 20th at approximately 7:00 am, Brockville Police attended a south end street for a suspicious male.

Calls had been received reporting the party was going through garbage bags and mailboxes in the area. The local, 33 year old, was located and found to be in possession of a sock with a can in the end of it, a quantity of cocaine and other pills. He was arrested and charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of a controlled substance and breaching conditions of an outstanding recognizance for charges still before the courts.

He was held for a bail hearing and was remanded back into custody.

 

Drug Offence

On August 20th at approximately 5:30 pm, Brockville Police located the male wanted for the incident earlier this week in which a window was smashed out of a pick up truck.

When the local, 37 year old, was arrested, he was found in possession of a small quantity of cocaine. He now faces five counts of breaching his probation order and possession of a controlled substance.

A bail hearing will be held on August 21st.

 

Threat

On August 20th at approximately 8:45 pm, Brockville Police attended the Brockville Jail for a threatening complaint.

A local, 18 year old male, threatened staff with bodily harm. He now faces charges of uttering a threat and two breaches of his probation order.

He will appear in court on August 21st.

Accident

On August 20th at approximately 12:10 am, Brockville Police attended Perth Street near VIA rail for a noise complaint.

An unknown male party drove by Police on a four wheeler. Subject was not wearing a helmet and took off south bound on Perth Street.  While the subject was trying to negotiate a left hand turn onto Brock Street, he lost control and struck a parked car.  He then fled on foot east bound on Brock Street and could not be located.

Investigation revealed the four wheeler was stolen from a residence in the Tincap area early Tuesday morning.

August 18th Incident

On August 18th at approximately 4:20 pm, Brockville Police attended St. Lawrence Park to assist paramedics with a male having medical issues.

The local, 19 year old, was checked out medically and then arrested and charged with breaching five different release documents for outstanding charges before the courts.  He was resistive and spit in Officer’s faces as well as causing mischief in his cell.

A bail hearing will take place later today. He faces charges of ten breaches of his recognizance, assault Police and mischief.

August 17 – 18, 2015 Incidents

Community Service

On August 17th at approximately 9:00 pm, Brockville Police attended a residence in the center of town in regards to a suicidal male.

The local, 19 year old, informed family members that he didn’t want to live anymore and left the residence. Police located the male on a nearby street and took him to hospital for any help he required.

 

Accident

On August 17th at approximately 9:45 pm, Brockville Police responded to a motor vehicle versus pedestrian accident at Central Avenue and Ormond Street.

A local, 44 year old female, was struck in the intersection while walking. She is currently in Kingston hospital being treated for her injuries. The driver of the vehicle, a local 70 year old female was not hurt.

This incident is still under investigation and no information is being released in regards to possible charges at this point. Brockville Police are seeking witnesses to the accident. If you have any information, please the Brockville Police 613-342-0127.

 

Disturbance

On August 18th at approximately 1:50 am, Brockville Police responded to a disturbance at an apartment complex in the center of town.

A local female was in the process of moving when her ex-boyfriend attended the area. He proceeded to break a window out of the pick up truck being used for the move. The victim nor the female wished to co-operate with Police in the investigation.

The accused, a local, 37 year old male, still faces possible charges and the investigation continues.

August 17th, 2015 Early Morning Incidents

Breach of Conditions

On August 17th at approximately 12:10 am, Brockville Police attended a noise complaint at a south end residence.

While dealing with parties at the house, a local, 21 year old male was spoken to by Police. He was on release conditions for outstanding charges and had a condition that involved no consumption of alcohol. Police noted the male had been consuming alcohol and he was charged with breaching his undertaking. He was released at the scene with a future court date.

 

Warrant

On August 17th at approximately 2:50 am, Brockville Police were in the area of King Street West, looking into an unrelated matter and ended up dealing with a 20 year old from the Ottawa area.

Turns out, there was a warrant in effect for his arrest out of the Ottawa area. It appears the male breached conditions of his probation order. He was arrested on the strength of the warrant and was picked up by their Service.

August 16th, 2015 Incidents

Break and Enter

On August 16th at approximately 3:00 pm, Brockville Police attended a downtown restaurant in regards to an attempted break and enter.

About 11:30 pm. the evening prior, witnesses observed three parties in the area who fled when noticed. Later, a screen to the location was found damaged however, entry was not made. The incident is still under investigation.

 

Threat Complaint

On August 16th at approximately 3:10 pm, Brockville Police attended the Brockville Jail in regards to a threatening complaint.

A local, 26 year old male, had threatened the well being of an employee of the institution. He now faces a threatening charge and will face processing of same when making his next court appearance.

 

Theft

On August 16th at approximately 5:00 pm, Brockville Police attended a north end department store for a theft complaint.

A 50 year old Kingston resident was arrested and charged with theft. Store employees recognized the male from a theft earlier this year. He was also facing outstanding charges from Gananoque and was breaching two different release documents. A bail hearing will take place on August 17th in regards to whether or not he gets released from custody.

 

Domestic Disturbance

On August 16th at approximately 10:30 pm, Brockville Police attended a domestic dispute at a residence in the center of town.

A 26 year old, local male, attended the residence of his ex-girlfriend. While there, he damaged her vehicle, threatened people in the residence and Police discovered he had been bothering her for a while. He was arrested and charged with mischief, utter threats and criminal harassment. A bail hearing for the male will be held on August 17th.

August 15th, 2015 Incidents

Public Intoxication

On August 15th at approximately 1:00 am, Brockville Police attended the rear of a business on Perth Street to deal with an intoxicated, local male.

Witnesses described the male as yelling and banging on objects, basically drawing lots of attention his way. The 22 year old, was arrested for public intoxication and issued a fine when being released after sobering up.

 

Mischief

On August 15th at approximately 11:50 am, Brockville Police attended the Jefferson Drive area for a mischief complaint.

A local, 19 year old male, had punched his girlfriend’s vehicle, causing a dent as a result. Police arrested and charged the subject with mischief. He was released later on conditions and given a future court date.

 

Theft

On August 15th at approximately 12:50 pm, Brockville Police attended a north end store for a theft complaint.

A local, 65 year old male, was arrested and charged with theft. He was released at the scene with a future court date.

 

Drug Offences

On August 15th at approximately 3:25 pm, Brockville Police attended several streets in the east/central area of the city in regards to pushy, door to door sales people.

Police located two males, 20 and 22 years of age, in the area. One was from Mississauga and the other from North York. Marijuana was located on the males during their interaction with officers. Both males now face charges involving possession of a controlled substance. They were arrested and later released on conditions with future court dates.

 

Bail Violation

On August 15th at approximately 6:25 pm, Brockville Police attended a south end residence for a complaint of a bail violation.

A local, 54 year old male, was on conditions from outstanding charges with one of those conditions being no communication with certain individuals. He interacted with one of the named parties verbally. He was arrested and charged with the breach and released later with a future court date.

 

Breach of Conditions

On August 15th, at approximately 9:20 pm, Brockville Police attended a residence in the center of the city for another bail violation complaint.

A local, 25 year old female, was contacted by her 27 year old ex-partner. The local male, was on release conditions which included not contacting her. He was arrested and charged with breaching his conditions. An appearance in bail court will take place on August 17th.

August 14th, 2015 Incidents

Mischief

On August 14th at approximately 5:30 am, Brockville Police responded to the Buell Street Bistro for a mischief complaint.

One of the windows in the front of the establishment had been smashed. Witnesses saw four youths in the area at the time of the incident.

 

Breach of Probation

On August 14th at approximately 10:10 am, Brockville Police on general patrol and observed a 23 year old male, known to the officers, breaching his probation.

The local male, was on a conditions which included, not associating with anyone having a record for criminal or drug related offences. The subject was with another male known to have a record.

He was arrested and charged with breaching his probation and released shortly afterwards with a future court date.

 

Shoplifting

Brockville Police responded to a north end store for a shoplifting complaint.

An 18 year old, local male and a 15 year old, local female were arrested and charged with theft. They were released later with a future court date.
