Joint Forces Operation

On the 21st June of 2021, the Brockville Police Service’s Emergency Response Team arrested two suspects during a traffic stop on Broad Street in the City of Brockville. The suspects, Tanner WEST (29 yrs) and Nicholas ADAMS (31 yrs), both from Ottawa, were arrested and charged with a list of 20 charges which include Possession of Drugs for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds of Crime, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Breach of Release Conditions.  

The arrests are the result of a Joint Forces Operation between the Brockville Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police in regards to drug trafficking activity in the City of Brockville. Following the arrests, a search warrant was executed at a King Street apartment. Inside the residence, police located substantial quantities of Cocaine, Crystal Methamphetamine, Fentanyl, cash and a butterfly knife (prohibited weapon). Both suspects will be appearing before the Brockville Court for Bail Hearings on the 22nd June 2021.

Bail Violations

June 22, 2021 shortly after midnight, officers were dispatched to St. Lawrence Park for reports of a female screaming.  Officers were directed to an occupied site by park staff.  The officers located 24-year-old female who stated that she had an argument with her boyfriend.  She advised officers that the male was not at the site, but was now in the washroom at the campground.   A 31-year-old male located hiding behind a tent provided a false name to the officers.  As police continued to speak with witnesses in the area, the female attempted to leave the campground in her vehicle. As the female was leaving officers discovered the real identity of the male, who was on bail conditions to be in his residence and not to communicate with that female.  Officers stopped the vehicle and located the male hiding in the trunk.  The male was taken into custody after a struggle.  He is charged with 1) 2 counts of fail to comply with a release order 2) breach of probation and 3) Obstruct police.  He was held in custody for a bail hearing. The female was charged with obstructing police and released at the scene.

June 16 – 17, 2021 News Release

Suspicious Person

On June 17, 2021 at 5:30 PM, officers were dispatched to Chase Street for what the complainant described as suspicious activity.  On their arrival officers located a 25-year-old male that was wanted by our service for a breach of a release order.  The male was arrested, transported to the station and held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Warrants

On June 16, 2021 a 32-year-old male was arrested near Crosby Ontario by the Provincial Police for his warrants from Brockville.  The male was wanted by our service in relation to a mischief occurrence from 2019.  The male was arrested and charged at that time, but he failed to attend court as required.  The new charges were added and a warrant was issued.  He was returned to Brockville and held in custody for a bail hearing.

June 14 – 16, 2021 News Release

Break and Enter

On June 15, 2021 at 10:00 AM, the Brockville Police responded to a complaint of a suspicious male at a multi-level condominium on James Street West.  The complainant was in her unit when she noticed someone opening her front door.  She confronted a 34-year-old male suspect at the door who concocted an excuse for entering her apartment and then fled the area. Officers located the suspect a short distance away.  He was arrested for breaking in to the apartment.  He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Warrants

June 15, 2021 at 5:20 PM, A 37 year old male turned himself in to police for his outstanding warrant. The male was wanted for failing to attend court.  He was issued a new court date in the future.

 

Theft

On June 14, 2021 at 8:00 AM, the Brockville Police Service responded to a theft complaint on Wall Street.  The victim reported that he had lawn equipment stolen from two sheds on his property.  As this was being reported, a neighbour had witnessed a suspect pushing a lawn mower.  The officer approached the 33-year-old suspect and arrested him for being in possession of property obtained by crime.  Officers were able to link this suspect to other thefts of power tools from construction sites in the area that   He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Domestic

June 14, 2021 at 11:30 AM, officers arrested a charged a 29-year-old female for assault in relation to a domestic incident involving her 22-year-old male common law spouse.  The male was assaulted after a heated argument.  The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Warrants

  1. June 13, 2021 at 3:00 PM, officers were dispatched to a residence on Pearl Street West for an unwanted person(s) complaint. A 21-year-old male was arrested, as he was located at the residence contrary to his probation conditions.  He was released from custody with a new court date.
  2. June 12, 2021 at 3:26 PM, officers located a 33-year-old female on William Street who was wanted by our service for an outstanding warrant for mischief. The accused had reportedly slashed the tires of an acquaintances vehicle on the 3rd of June.  She was appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge.
  3. June 11, 2021 at 1:45 PM officers on routine patrol observed a 34-year-old female on Millwood Avenue. Officers recognized the female and were aware that she had a warrant for her arrest in relation to a bail violation. She was arrested and searched incident to that arrest.  Officers located powdered cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl. She released from custody with a new court date.
  4. June 12, 2021 at 1:25 AM, Brockville Police were called to assist paramedics who were responding to a call of a possible hypothermic male. A 31-year-old male located at the scene was not in need of medical attention, but was wanted by Gananoque Police.  The male was turned over to Gananoque Police.

Impaired

On June 11, 2021 at 12:26 PM, the Brockville Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Crocker Crescent and Waltham Road.  No injuries were reported in the three-vehicle collision.  A 31-year-old female driver arrested at the scene for impaired operation provided samples of her breath in excess of three times the legal limit.

Her vehicle was impounded and driver’s licence was automatically suspended for 90 days.

 

 

 

June 10 – 11, 2021 News Release

Warrants

  1. On June 10, 2021 at 11:30 AM, the Brockville Police Service arrested a 47-year-old male that had warrants for various offences from Gananoque Police and the Ontario Provincial Police. He was arrested on King Street East and turned over to officers from Gananoque.
  2. On June 10, 2021 at 8:50 PM, officers located a 54-year-old male on King Street West who had a warrant for a breach of probation. The male was held in custody and has been remanded to appear in court at a later date.

June 9 – 10, 2021 News Release

Domestic Assault

On June 9, 2021 at approximately 12:00 noon, the Brockville Police Service responded to a domestic complaint in the city’s north end.  A 29-year-old male was arrested for assaulting his 20-year-old partner after a heated argument.  The male was arrested without incident and charged with assault.  He was released from custody with a future court date.  The injuries sustained were not serious in nature.

June 3 – 7, 2021 News Release

Impaired:

 

On the 3rd of June 2021 at 11:25 AM, a call of a possible impaired driver on Perth Street was received.  The call was placed by an off duty police officer who had witnessed the erratic driving.  Officers located the vehicle on Central Ave and made a vehicle stop.  A 64-year-old male driver was arrested for impaired operation of a conveyance.  The male subsequently provided two samples of his breath to a qualified technician with levels of nearly 4 times the legal limit.  He was charged with impaired operation and drive with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in his blood.  He will appear in court at a later date.

 

Domestic Mischief:

 

On June 4th shortly before 1:00 AM, officers responded to a call of a domestic dispute in the city’s north end.  The two parties involved had an intense argument that ended with an 18 year old female kicking out a window of the residence.  The female was charged for mischief and released with a future court date.

 

Arrest on Warrants

  1. June 4th at 11:30 AM, an officer on routine patrol arrested a 34-year-old Brockville resident for an outstanding warrant from the Ontario Provincial Police. The male was arrested on Perth Street and promptly turned over to the OPP.
  2. June 4th at 12:56 PM, a 29-year-old male surrendered to police for his outstanding charges.  The male was wanted by our service for harassment from an incident on the 3rd of June.  He was released from custody with a future court date.
  3. June 4th at 5:20 PM, officers arrested a 39-year-old male on King Street West at Perth Street as a warrant had been issued for breach of probation. The male was held in custody for a bail hearing.
  4. June 5th at 2:38 PM, officers on bike patrol responded to a complaint of a suspicious person on the bike path. The officers located a 32-year-old female that was wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant.  She was arrested without incident and will appear in court at a later date to answer to her charges.
  5. June 6th at 11:52 PM, officers arrested a 22-year-old female for her outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. She was located by an officer on routine patrol on King St. West at John Street.  She was later released with a future court date.

Threats

On the 4th of June 2021 at 9:50 PM, officers responded to reports of a disturbance in the hallway of an apartment building on Kensington Parkway.  A 47-year-old male and 31 year old male had some sort of physical altercation in the hallway.  The 31 year old was eventually arrested for uttering a threat after a former girlfriend of his approached police reporting it.  That male was held in custody for his bail hearing.

 

Mischief / Neighbour Dispute

A neighbour dispute has led to charges against a 60-year-old male.  Over the weekend officers were called to a residence in the center of the city for several “neighbour dispute” type calls.  The male was charged on the 6th of June for mischief after he had ripped out part of a hedge that belonged to the complainant.  He will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge.

 

Bike Patrol

On Saturday June 5th two bike patrol officers conducted targeted enforcement in the downtown core. In their 6-hour patrol, those officers issued 4 tickets under the Highway Traffic Act, 1 under the Liquor License Act and made two arrests.  The patrols will continue throughout the summer.

 

Break and Enter

On June 6th at 6:23 PM, officers were called to a residence on Seven Oaks Avenue for reports of a break and enter.  The home owner confronted a male trying to enter his residence.  That male fled the area, but was located by officers and arrested for breaking and entering.  A search incident to his arrest led to the discovery of methamphetamine.  The male was charged for “breaking and entering” and possession of a controlled substance.  He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

June 2 – 3, 2021 News Release

Assault

On the 3rd of June 2021 at 2:17 AM, the Brockville Police Service responded to assault and theft of motor vehicle call on Eleanor St.  A male victim was struck in the head with a metal object several times causing significant injury.  The suspect then drove off in a vehicle belonging to a witness. 

The victim was transported to the Brockville General Hospital for his injuries.  The 35-year-old male accused was located today around 10:00 AM and arrested for assault with a weapon and theft of a motor vehicle.  He will appear in court for a bail hearing.

May 31 – June 1, 2021 News Release

Assault

On the 1st of June 2021 at 7:35 PM, officers responded to an assault complaint on Perth Street.  A 53-year-old male had been punched in the nose by his 32-year-old son.  The victim was intoxicated to the point officers were concerned for his safety.  He did not wish to complain about the assault.  He was arrested for his own safety and transported to the hospital for his injury.  He was released unconditionally when sober.

 

Mischief

On the 31st of May 2021 at 7:30 PM, the Brockville Police Service was contacted about a suspicious male.  The complainant had observed a 49-year-old suspect walking out of a back yard on Bartholomew St.  The complainant contacted police as he followed with his vehicle.  The suspect then took the bicycle he had and hit the complainant’s vehicle. Officers arrested the male on King Street West for the offence of mischief.  He was later released from custody with a future court date.
