Domestic Dispute

On December 9, 2021 at about 1:00AM, the Brockville Police Service responded to a complaint of a domestic dispute on Bisley Cr. Information was that a male and female couple were in an argument where the male was making threats to kill the female. Officers attended and the investigation revealed that there was reasonable grounds to arrest the 41-year-old male for uttering threats and assault. The male had been drinking at the time. He did not comply with the arrest but luckily, officers were able to gain control of the male without injury. The male was released on an undertaking with a future court date for the offences of utter threats to both persons and property, domestic related assault, mischief under $5,000.00 and resist arrest.

Threat at St Mary Catholic High School

A Brockville youth is to appear in court this morning after making a verbal threat of a school shooting toward St. Mary Catholic High School in Brockville.

Just after 12pm yesterday afternoon, school administration contacted the Brockville Police when students had alerted them of the verbal threat made by the youth. In addition, videos and images were sent from the youth to other students and began circulating online. School administration followed necessary protocol and placed the school in a hold and secure mode for a short period of time until officers with the Brockville Police were able to locate the individual. A short time later the youth was taken into custody without incident.

The police investigation is continuing at present and interviews are still being conducted with regard to the situation. The board is also initiating the Violent Threat Risk Assessment Protocol (VTRA) and counseling supports are being provided onsite to students at St. Mary CHS. The Brockville Police and the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario wish to assure staff, students and parents there are no further concerns for safety at the school as a result of this incident.

December 5, 2021 News Release

Pedestrian Death

 

On December 5, 2021 at approximately 1:15AM, the Brockville Police Service received information regarding a pedestrian who was struck by a freight train. The incident took place in the area of Perth St. in Brockville along the Westbound CN railway tracks. The incident did result in the death of a youth. The investigation is currently ongoing between CN Police, OPP Forensic Identification and Brockville Police Service Detectives. Due to the ongoing investigation, no further details will be released at this time. On behalf of the Brockville Police Service and everyone involved in this incident, I would like to share my deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the person lost.

November 29 – December 1, 2021 News Release

Assault:

On November 29, 2021 at about 9:00AM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint at the apartment building of 26 William St. regarding yelling and screaming. Officers arrived and discovered that a 37-year-old, local male had been assaulted. He is currently in hospital receiving medical care for his injuries, which are considered serious in nature. The Brockville Police Service is asking for anyone with information to contact Det. Graham Coe at 613-342-0127 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

 

Warrants:

On November 30, 2021 at about 9:45AM, a 43-year-old local male turned himself into the Brockville Police Service as he had learned of an outstanding Bench warrant for failing to attend court. The male was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Further;

On November 30, 2021 at about 11:00AM, the Brockville Police Service located a 53-year-old male who had an outstanding arrest warrant for criminal harassment, two counts of fail to comply with undertaking conditions and two counts of fail to comply with release order conditions. He was arrested on the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

 

Unwanted Person Leads to Assault:

On November 30, 2021 at about 9:00PM, the Brockville Police Service was called to a residence on Bartholomew St. regarding an unwanted person in the residence. The complainant called advising that a male who is temporarily residing with her is causing problems and no longer welcome. Officers arrived and the investigation revealed that the 35-year-old male had assaulted the complainant and caused damage in the residence. The male was arrested and charged with assault, mischief under $5,000.00 and three counts of failing to comply with probation conditions. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

November 26 – 29, 2021 News Release

Domestic Dispute:

On November 26th, 2021 at about 11:15PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a domestic dispute on Cunningham Cres. Officers attended the scene and spoke to the couple involved. Investigation revealed that an assault had taken place. A 39-year–old female was arrested and charged with domestic related assault and assault with a weapon. The injuries are not life threatening. She was later released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date.

 

Warrants:

On November 27th, 2021 at about 7:30AM, the Brockville Police Service attended to the Area of Tim Hortons on Jefferson Dr. to check on the well-being of a female. Officers located the female in question and identified her to be a 37-year-old female from Brockville. It was found that there was a warrant for her arrest for breach of probation. The warrant was executed and she was later released with a future court date. 

Further;

On November 27th, 2021 at about 4:00PM Brockville Police Service officers located a 48-year-old male downtown during the Christmas Parade who was known to be wanted. Officers executed the warrant and arrested the male. The warrant was in relation to allegations that the male had breached his release order bail conditions. He was charged with breaching his release order released with a future court date.    

 

Assault:

On November 27th, 2021 at about 11:30PM the Brockville Police Service received a complaint to attend a residence on Cartier Court regarding a male attempting to gain entry into an apartment. Once officers arrived, it was found the male had left prior to arrival. Investigation revealed that this male had been to the residence on a previous date where it was alleged a separate assault had occurred. Any injuries discovered are not life threatening. Shortly after, the 24-year-old male responsible was located and arrested for two counts of assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, carrying concealed weapon, possession of cocaine and two counts of breach probation. The subject was also breaching his Conditional Sentence order. He was held in custody for a bail hearing. 

November 24 – 26, 2021 News Release

Warrants:

On November 24, 2021 at about 1:00PM, the Brockville Police Service located and arrested a 27-year-old male with an arrest warrant obtained by the Gananoque Police Service. The arrest warrant was for a breach of probation conditions. Once he was arrested and the warrant was executed, it was then found that the male was in possession of stolen property. He was additionally charged with possession of stolen property and released on an appearance notice with a future court date.

 

Breach of Release Order:

On November 24, 2021 at about 3:15PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of an unwanted person in the area of King St. West in Brockville. The complainant was calling about his 32-year-old ex-girlfriend who was on bail conditions to abstain communication with him. The female had jumped into his vehicle while intoxicated when she observed him downtown. She was arrested, charged and held for bail for breaching her release order.

 

Counterfeit Money:

On November 25, 2021 at about 8:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint from the Wendy’s restaurant on Stewart Blvd. regarding the use of counterfeit money. Two males were involved in the incident and both located a short distance away from the restaurant. The first suspect is a 50-year-old local male who was identified as the individual attempting to use the counterfeit money. The second suspect is a 44-year-old male who was also found to be in possession of counterfeit money and many other fraudulent related documents. The second suspect also had two arrest warrants for breaching his release order conditions and theft under $5,000.00. Both were arrested and taken into custody. The first suspect was charged with utter counterfeit money, breach probation and then released with a court date. The second suspect was charged with breaching his release order, theft under $5,000.00, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, possession of counterfeit money, 11 counts of possession of a forged document and 23 counts of possession of an identity document. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Impaired:

On November 23, 2021 at approximately 11:45pm, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a possible impaired driver in the area of Windsor Dr. Officers located the vehicle in the area Stewart Blvd. and Laurier Blvd. The driver was a 64-year-old local male. He then provided a roadside sample, which he failed. The male was then arrested for operating with over 80mg of alcohol. He was taken to the Brockville Police Service where he provided further samples indicating a blood alcohol concentration at double the legal limit. He was charged with operating while impaired and operating over 80mg. He was later released once sober with a future court date.

 

Warrants:

On November 23, 2021 at approximately 9:00am, a 37-year-old local male turned himself into the Brockville Police Service for arrest. He was aware of an outstanding arrest warrant for breaching his release order conditions. The male was arrested and held for a bail hearing.

November 19 – 22, 2021 News Release

Warrants:

On November 19, 2021 at approximately 11:00am, a 28-year-old male was arrested on an outstanding warrant by the Brockville Police Service.  The warrant was issued as a result of an investigation that found the male in breach of his release order bail conditions. He was released with a future court date. 

On November 19, 2021 at approximately 5:00pm, a 42-year-old male was located and arrested on an outstanding warrant by the Brockville Police Service. The warrant was a result of a sexual assault investigation. The male was located in the downtown area of Brockville. He was processed and released on an undertaking with conditions. He has a future court date to answer to the allegations.

 

Domestic Dispute:

On November 21, 2021 at approximately 1:00pm, the Brockville Police Service responded to a complaint of a domestic dispute on Dowsley Cr. Investigation revealed that the couple were engaged in an argument and during that time, the male had damaged his partners cell phone. The 64-year-old male was arrested and charged with mischief. He was later released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date. No one was injured during this dispute.

 

  

November 14 – 18, 2021 News Release

Drug Offences:

November 18, 2021 at 4:10 am, officers conducted a traffic stop on Stewart Boulevard.  The traffic stop led to the arrest of three local males for possession of a controlled substance (cocaine).  Two 19-year-old males and a 21-year-old male will appear in court at a date in the future to answer to the charges.

 

Unwanted Person:

November 16, 2021 at 10:20 pm, officers responded to a Cartier Court residence for a complaint of an unwanted guest.  The complainant reported that 26-year-old female was located inside her residence.  The accused fled the scene prior to police arrival.   The accused was on conditions not to attend the residence having previously been charged with mischief.  She was located by police a short distance away and arrested.  She was held in custody, charged with failing to comply with a release order and being unlawfully in a dwelling.

 

Suspicious Person:

November 14, 2021 at 4:17 am, officers arrested a 39-year-old Brockville resident in relation to a two complaints about a person attempting to break into a motorhome.  Police initially received a call shortly after midnight about an individual attempting to break into the vehicle.  A second call was received by the same complainant around 4:00 am reporting that the male had returned.  He was arrested by the responding officers for two counts of failing to comply with a probation order, failing to comply with a release order, mischief and possession of B&E tools.  He was held in custody for a bail hearing.  His next court date is November 24, 2021.

 

 

 

 

 

November 10, 2021 News Release

TISS Hold & Secure

 

On the morning of November 10, 2021 a witness observed a group of 3 male youth walking in the area of Tupper Street in the North end of Brockville.  The witness observed one of the youths to be carrying what appeared to be a small handgun.  Police checked the area without success and continue to make efforts to identify the youth.  The information regarding the firearm has not been confirmed and the youth was not observed threatening or pointing the alleged gun.  Thousand Islands Secondary School entered into a hold and secure as a precaution and there is no specific threat to public safety.
