Drugs

On the 4^th of April 2020 at 1:50 a.m. officers from the Brockville Police Service stopped a vehicle travelling on Hislop Ave.  As a result of the traffic stop a 40 year old female was arrested and charged with being in possession cocaine, oxycodone, morphine and Xanax.  The female was charged with 4 counts of being in possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking.

Bail Violations

On the 5^th of April 2020 at 1:40 a.m. a 35 year old male was located as a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped on Park St.  The male was on conditions not to be away from his Brampton residence.   He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Mischief

On the 5^th of April 2020 at 12:30 p.m. police were called to an address on Reynolds Dr. for a complaint of mischief.    A female had attended the residence of a previous domestic partner, forced her way in and damaged a window in the process.  Police were contacted and later located the accused that had fled the scene. The 24 year old female was arrested and charged with mischief along with break and enter.  She was released from custody with a future court date.

Break and Enter

On the 2^nd of April 2020 at 8:00 a.m. the Brockville Police Service responded to a call for a “break and enter” on King St. West.  Officers located a 30 year old male that had broken a window and gained access to “Crazy Cowboy Music World”.  He was arrested and charged with B&E and breach of probation.  He was transported to the hospital as he had a previous untreated injury.  He was released from police custody with a future court date.

Arrest

Officers responded to an alarm at the Brockville Public Library on the 2^nd of April 2020 at 10:41 a.m.  On their arrival they located a 21 year old male.  It is unknown at this time what caused the alarm, but the male located had a warrant for his arrest from the Cornwall Police Service.  The male was processed on those charges and released.

Disturbance

On April 3^rd 2020 shortly after midnight officers responded to a disturbance at a residence in the center of the city.  The call came in as some sort of family dispute that was spiraling out of control.  When officers arrived on scene they were met by a 22 year old female in a state of crisis.  The female was holding a knife to her throat.  Despite the officer’s attempt to defuse the situation through verbal interaction they were forced to deploy a conducted energy weapon to disarm her.  She was taken into custody and transported to the Brockville General Hospital for treatment.  There were no charges in this incident.

Warrants

On April 1^st 2020 at 4:50 p.m. police received a call about a 48 year old female that was observed hiding in some bushes near a residence on Water St. East.  The caller was calling more out of concern for the well-being of the female.  She was located by an officer who discovered that she had a warrant for her arrest for failing to attend court.  She was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing.

Mischief

On the 2^nd of April, 2020 at 2:30 a.m. the Brockville Police Service responded to a residence on Buell St. for reports of a male who was yelling, screaming and had broken a window. The 23 year old male was located by police and arrested for mischief.  He was held in custody for a bail hearing

Update Richards Street Investigation

Brockville Police and Ontario Provincial Police Forensic officers along with Brockville Police Criminal Investigation members remain on scene at Richards Street.  The Brockville Police Service can confirm that a 44 year old male and a 33 year old female are deceased.  The matter is being investigated as a homicide and suicide and the police can confirm that the two deceased were involved in a domestic relationship.  Police personnel continue to work with both families of the deceased and will provide further updates as they are available.

Richards Street Investigation

The Brockville Police Service is currently involved in an active investigation on Richards Street in the City of Brockville.  The area is closed to vehicular traffic and we ask the public to avoid the area if possible.   Police were contacted in the early morning hours of April 1^st, 2020 to check on the welfare of a person residing within a residence.  Officers were required to make a forced entry into the residence and located a female and male deceased.  A young child was also found in the residence and we can confirm the child was unharmed.  The Brockville Police are working closely with families and would ask that their privacy be respected at this time.  We will provide further details as they become available.

Stabbing

On March 31^st 2020 at 7:45 a.m. the Brockville Police Service responded to reports that a 50 year old male had been stabbed and was requiring ambulance.  The male had been stabbed in the hand early in the morning at an apartment on King St. West.  He returned to his residence in the center of the city and attempted to treat the wound on his own. 

The investigation led officers to an address on King St. West.  One 49 year old suspect was located outside of the building and arrested without incident.  A second 41 year old male was arrested in the building and arrested.  Charges have not been laid at this time as the investigation is ongoing.

Warrants

On the 29^th of March 2020 at 1:00 p.m. a 34 year old male was arrested on a warrant for failing to attend court.  The male had failed to attend court in January and the warrant was issued.  He was located at a Louis St. residence and arrested.  He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Bail violation/theft

On March 28^th, 2020 at 9:40 a.m. a 36 year old female was arrested and charged with a breach of recognizance of bail for failing to report to the Brockville Police Service as required.  She was released from custody with a future court date.

At 4:40 p.m. that female was arrested for shoplifting from Dollarama on Parkedale Ave.  A search incident to arrest led to the discovery of property from Canadian Tire that was also stolen. She was then charged with two counts of theft and another additional count of breaching her recognizance.  She was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Shoplifting

A 22 year old male was arrested yesterday at 4:30 pm for shoplifting.  The male was at Wal-Mart on Parkedale Ave. when he was observed by staff committing the offence of theft.  Police were contact and charged the male with theft under $5000.

Fail to Remain

On the 24^th of March at 5:30 am, police responded to a report of motor vehicle collision.  It was reported that a vehicle had struck a tree and street sign on King St. West.  The vehicle was described as a black Chevrolet Impala.  That vehicle left the scene and has not yet been located.  The vehicle has front end damage.   If anyone has information they are asked to contact Cst. Assault/weapons

Officers were dispatched to a Victoria Avenue residence on March 24^th at 6:50 pm for an unknown disturbance.  A 46 year old local male was arrested and charged with assault, threats and weapons offence.  The male had confronted neighbours over noise issues and had armed himself with a knife.  The male threatened to kill his neighbours during this confrontation and pushed the victim to the ground.  He did not use the knife in the assault.  He was held in custody for a bail hearing.   

Warrants:

On the 21^st of March 2020 at 1:30 pm, the Brockville Police Service located and arrested a 37 year old female that had a warrant for her arrest for failing to comply with a probation order.  She was located on King St. West by officers on routine patrol. She was released with a future court date.

Bail Violations:

A 34 year old male was arrested on the 21^st of March at 4:30 pm, for breaching his bail condition.  The male was not to be out of his residence without a surety.  He was located at Pearl St. and William St.  in breach of that condition.  He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Warrants:

On March 20^th at 11:00 am, a 46 year old male was arrested on his outstanding warrant.  The male had a warrant issued for his arrest when he failed to attend for court.  He was also located by officers on routine patrol. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
