The Brockville Police Service Emergency Response Team (ERT) is a specialized unit made up of Constables, Sergeants, and Detectives who provide tactical support during high-risk operations within the community. The team traces its origins back to 2003, when the Service began developing a more structured and consistent approach to executing search warrants. What began as an eight-member Warrant Service Unit evolved into a fully established Emergency Response Team in 2008. Today, the unit consists of nine highly trained members who are selected through an evaluation process and must meet ongoing annual physical standards.

ERT is trained and equipped to handle high-risk drug and arrest warrants, perimeter containment, tactical support, immediate-action entries, and active-threat response. Members are skilled in interacting with emotionally disturbed persons and are certified in several less-lethal intervention options. They also conduct missing-person searches, evidence searches, and may be called upon to secure or control crime scenes to assist investigative units. Each member is proficient in Immediate Rapid Deployment and contributes to training frontline officers so that the entire Service remains prepared for critical incidents.
