February 19 – 20, 2023 News Release

Unwanted Person Leads to Arrest

On February 19, 2023 at about 7:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received a call of an unwanted person at a residence on Hastings Drive. Officers arrived and found the unwanted person to be a 43-year-old female. Further investigation revealed that the female also had a bench warrant for her arrest in relation to failing to attend court. The female was arrested and released shortly after with a new court date.

 

Probation Condition Breach

On February 20, 2023 at about 6:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received information regarding a 24-year-old male, breaching probation conditions in the area of Ormond St. The male was on conditions to abstain from communicating with or attending the residence of a female. Officers attended and located the male in the area. He was arrested and charged with three counts of failing to comply with probation. He was released on an undertaking with a future court date.

 

Warrants

On February 19, 2023 at about 4:30AM, officers from the Brockville Police Service located a 55-year-old male, in the area of Pearl St. E. The male was known to be on a Conditional Sentence Order with a condition of house arrest. Also, a warrant had been issued in relation to him failing to attend for fingerprinting.  The male was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing.

Further;

On February 19, 2023 at about 5:45AM, the Brockville Police Service responded to a report of a disturbance in the area of Perth St. and Brock St. While there, officers did not find a disturbance but did locate a 49-year-old female, who had a warrant for her arrest. The warrant was issued as a result of failing to attend court. The female was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

 

February 16 – 17, 2023 News Release

Warrants

The following is information regarding arrests on various warrants.

On February 13, 2023 at about 7:30AM, the Brockville Police Service received a call for two unwanted people at an apartment building on Water St. Officers attended and spoke to the parties involved. Police identified a 40-year-old female, who had a warrant for her arrest in relation to charges of break and enter and possession of stolen property. The charges were stemming from an investigation from January, 2023. She was arrested and released with a new court date.

Further;

On February 6, 2023 at about 11:00PM, the Brockville Police Service conducted an investigation regarding damage to the property at the Royal Brock Retirement Home, on Stewart Blvd. A 39-year-old male and 48-year-old female, were identified as the ones responsible for the damage and arrest warrants were issued. On February 15, 2023 at about 4:30PM, the female was arrested at the Ontario Court of Justice, for the offence of mischief under $5,000.00. On February 16, 2023 at about 3:30PM, the male was located and arrested in the area of Strowger Blvd., for the offences of mischief under $5,000.00 and fail to comply with probation. They were both released with future court dates.

Further;

On February 16, 2023 at about 10:00AM, the Brockville Police Service arrested a 22-year-old female, who had an outstanding bench warrant for failing to attend court. The warrant was held by the Grenville County OPP. She was arrested and held for a bail hearing on behalf of the OPP. 

 

Theft and Fraud

On January 14, 2023 at about 9:30AM, the Brockville Police Service investigated the theft of a debit card from a victim’s vehicle in the area of King ST. W. It was also revealed that the debit card was then used to make multiple small purchases at convenience stores. Investigation determined that three males were primarily responsible for this incident. They have been identified as 14, 16 and 19-year-old males. Officers reached out and have now located the males. Each one has been arrested and charged with the offences of fraud under $5,000.00 and possession of stolen property. They were all released with future court dates.

 

Threat of a Weapon

On February 16, 2023 at about 11:00AM, the Brockville Police Service received a call for assistance regarding a 24-year-old male, out front of the Brockville General Hospital, threatening with a knife. Officers responded quickly and located the male. He was causing a disturbance at the hospital but when officers checked him, no knife could be found. However, a quantity of crystal methamphetamine was located on him. After speaking with him further, it was determined that no threats were made but he needed to be at the hospital for assistance with his mental health. He was released into the care of the Brockville General Hospital.  

 

February 11 – 13, 2023 News Release

Break and Enter and Possession of Stolen Property

On February 11, 2023 at about 4:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received a call at a residence on Brock St. in relation to a break and enter. The home owner attended the residence to perform renovations. When they did, they found that the locks had been tampered with and believed someone was inside. Officer’s attended and located a 39-year-old female, inside the residence. She was placed under arrest for break and enter. It was learned that she was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Once processed, she was released on an undertaking with additional conditions. She was also given a future court date for the offences of break and enter and fail to comply with probation.

Further;

While officer’s were investigating the break and enter incident above, there was a 16-year-old, male, riding his bicycle in the area. This male was known to be wanted for fraud and possession of stolen property. These charges were as a result of an investigation reported on January 14, 2023, where a victim’s car had been entered, debit card stolen and the card was used to make small purchases. The male was arrested for fraud under $5,000.00 and possession of stolen property. He was charged with those offences and released with a future court date.  

 

Warrants and Drug Possession

On February 12, 2023 at about 11:00PM, officers from the Brockville Police Service, observed a 21-year-old, male, known to be wanted for failing to attend for fingerprinting. The male was arrested for the warrant and when searched, the officers located a quantity of methamphetamine. The substance was seized and the male was additionally charged with possession of methamphetamine. He was released on an appearance notice for all charges with a new court date.   

 

Warrant

On February 10, 2023 at about 6:15AM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint regarding an unwanted person at a residence on James St. W. Officers attended and during the investigation, located a 29-year-old, female, who had a bench warrant for their arrest for failing to attend court. She was arrested for that offence and held for bail. 

 

February 7, 2023 News Release

Theft and Fraud

On February 7, 2023 at about 1:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received a call about a male who attempted to steal an e-bike from the Real Canadian SuperStore on Parkedale Ave. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with Loss Prevention. They identified a 26-year-old male, from the Scarborough area, who was responsible for the theft. The male was placed under arrest for theft under $5,000.00. Further investigation revealed that in his vehicle was an electric scooter that had also been stolen from the SuperStore.  It was then discovered that there were various other items such as Milwaukee power tools, spools of wire, plumbing accessories and fragrances. The investigating officer determined that some of these items had come from the Peavey Mart, on Waltham Rd. There, it was learned the male attempted to change pricing tags, pay for and fraudulently return items. The male was also found to be on an undertaking with bail conditions to abstain from attending any Peavey Mart store. All of the identified stolen property was seized and the male was charged with theft under $5,000.00, fraud under $5,000.00 and fail to comply with undertaking. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Domestic Disturbance

On February 7, 2023 at about 12:30AM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint regarding a domestic dispute on James St. W. Officers attended the scene and spoke to the couple. Investigation revealed that the male and female had both been consuming alcohol. An argument ensued that resulted in the female choking the male. Neither party were cooperative with police at the time. The 42-year-old, female, was arrested and charged with assault. She was later released on conditions and a future court date.  

 

February 3 – 5, 2023 News Release

Domestic Related Bail Violations

On February 4, 2023 at about 7:30PM, the Brockville Police Service had been on the lookout for a 34-year-old male, wanted for multiple domestic related bail violation charges. In mid-January, this male subject was charged with assault with a weapon and assault on his female partner. Since that time, he has been charged with uttering threats and four counts of failing to comply with release order across four separate dates, post release on bail. The male continues to communicate with his former female partner, who he is on strict release order conditions to abstain communication with, due to safety concerns. On the above date, officers located him at a residence just outside of Brockville. He was arrested and cooperative with police. He was held in custody, again, for a bail hearing.

 

Traffic Stop and Drug Possession

On February 3, 2023 at about 1:00PM, officers from the Brockville Police Service conducted a traffic stop in the area of Kensington Pkwy. In the vehicle officers located a 46-year-old male, who was already wanted for a variety of charges including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, operation while prohibited and flight from police. He was placed under arrest and searched. In his possession officers located falsified Corrections Canada ID among other cards, two scales, bags, quantities of anabolic steroids, methamphetamine and cocaine. The street value of the methamphetamine was approximately $4,500.00 and the cocaine value was approximately $17,000.00. He was additionally charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking methamphetamine and cocaine. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.      

 

Mischief to Property

On February 5, 2023 at about 7:15PM, the Brockville Police Service received a call regarding a 35-year-male outside of the Giant Tiger store on Park St. He was described as banging on the windows and appearing in need of distraught. The store was closed at the time and the male was continuing to bang on windows and attempting to open the doors. Shortly after, the male used a chunk of ice and shattered the large front window to Giant Tiger. As a result, the male received a cut to his leg, which, Paramedics attended and assisted with. The male was placed under arrest for mischief under $5,000.00 and two counts of fail to comply with probation. He was taken to the Brockville General Hospital for medical assistance while in custody. Once released from the hospital, he was held in custody for a bail hearing.

February 1, 2023 News Release

Weapons Possession

On February 1, 2023 at about 10:00AM, the Brockville Police Service received a call regarding a male in the area of Pearl St. W. and Chancery Lane., in possession of a sword and acting suspicious. It was described that the male was stabbing snowbanks. Officers attended the area and located the 24-year-old male. With excellent tactics used by the officers, the male was arrested without injury to anyone involved. Once arrested, the male was searched. In his possession was the sword mentioned above along with two 12 gauge shotgun shells, a knife and a quantity of fentanyl. He was held in custody for a bail hearing for the offences of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of ammunition contrary to prohibition, possession of fentanyl and fail to comply with probation.

 

Warrants

Between the hours of 2:00PM on February 1, 2023 and 3:00AM on February 2, 2023, officers from the Brockville Police Service made three arrests on wanted individuals. They are as follows;

A 27-year-old female was arrested on an outstanding Bench warrant for failing to attend court. This warrant was in relation to a missed court date for the offences of mischief under $5,000.00, criminal harassment and personation. She was processed and released on paperwork with a new court date.

A 34-year-old female was arrested on an outstanding warrant for three counts of break and enter, two counts of disguise with intent and mischief under $5,000.00. She was held in custody for a bail hearing.

A 46-year-old male was arrested on an outstanding Bench warrant for failing to attend court in relation to charges of possession of stolen property and fail to comply with probation. He was processed and released shortly after on paperwork and a new court date.  

 

January 28 – 31, 2023 News Release

Aggravated Assault

The Brockville Police Service is currently investigating a serious assault that is believed to have taken place on Saturday morning, the 28th of January 2023.

The 48 year old male victim remains in hospital in critical condition as a result.

Warrant

On January 31, 2023 at about 9:45AM, the Brockville Police Service located a 17-year-old female, who was wanted for failing to attend court in relation to charges of assault, mischief under $5,000.00 and other bail violation charges. She was arrested and released after being issued a new court date.

 

Disturbance Leads to Charges

On January 31, 2023 at about 4:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received a report of a disturbance at The Bar, on King St. W. There was a customer at the establishment who was intoxicated and causing issues. While staff was attempting to deal with the male, he brandished a knife and also threatened to come back and shoot one of the staff. Officers did locate the male in the area and placed him under arrest. He was charged for the offences of assault with a weapon and uttering threats. Once sober, he was released on conditions and a future court date.  

 

January 23 – 28, 2023 News Release

Assault

On January 23, 2023 at about 12:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received a 911 call from a residence on Edgewood Ave. The call was placed as a result of a female being struck in the head with a juice container by her 16-year-old son. The young male’s father attempted to intervene which resulted in the father being assaulted as well. He also threatened to harm his mother and caused damage to property in the residence. Officers arrived and located the male. He became agitated and challenged officers. He was arrested for assault and taken into custody without injury. He was taken to the Brockville Police Service and continued to lash out at officers and attempted to clog the toilets with his clothing. He eventually did calm and was held for a bail hearing for the offences of two counts of assault, two counts of mischief under $5,000.00 and uttering threats.

 

Theft, Bail and Probation Condition Violations

On January 24, 2023 at about 11:15AM, the Brockville Police Service received information of a theft of a cell phone. A female called reporting that a 29-year-old male, had stolen her phone. Investigation confirmed that this male actually stole the cell phone while sleeping at a mutual friend’s residence. It was also learned the male subject was bound by various conditions as he was on a bail release order, undertaking and had previously been sentenced and placed on probation. Shortly after, the male was located and arrested for theft and various breaches. He was held for a bail hearing for the offences of theft under $5,000.00, fail to comply with release order, fail to comply with probation and two counts of fail to comply with undertaking.

 

Bail Violation

On January 25, 2023 at about 8:15AM, the Brockville Police Service received a report of a 31-year-old female, who is failing to comply with undertaking bail conditions. Investigation revealed that the female had been in communication with a male she was to abstain communicating with. Later that afternoon at about 2:00PM, the female was located and arrested for the offence of fail to comply with undertaking. She was held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Shoplifting

On January 27, 2023 at about 9:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint regarding a 36-year-old female, shoplifting at Winners. Officers arrived and learned that the female had selected and concealed approximately $200.00 worth of merchandise, without attempting to pay. She was found to be on a term of probation as well. She was charged with theft under $5,000.00, fail to comply with probation and released with a future court date. 

 

Refusal of Roadside Breath Sample

On January 28, 2023 at about 3:00AM, officers from the Brockville Police Service were on patrol and observed a vehicle traveling on Stewart Blvd., after the driver had just left a downtown establishment. The vehicle was stopped and the 30-year-old, male driver, was given a demand to provide a breath sample. Even after being given the demand, the male refused. As a result the male was charged with refusing to provide a sample and issued a future court date. Also, his vehicle was impounded and driver’s licence suspended.

 

Probation Violation

On January 28, 2023 at about 2:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received information regarding an unconscious male at the library. Officers arrived and located a 24-year-old male, known to be sentenced to probation. He had a condition to not attend to the Brockville Library due to many past occurrences. He was placed under arrest and when searched, officers found a quantity of crystal meth. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine and two counts of fail to comply with probation. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

  

News Release January 21 – 24, 2023

Domestic Disturbance

On January 21, 2023 at about 4:15AM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Abbott St. Officers attended and investigation revealed that female and her 39-year-old, male partner, had been engaged in an altercation. It was learned that at one point during the altercation, the female was dragged across the living room by the male. After this was learned, the male was placed under arrest for assault. It was also learned that he was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Once the investigation was complete, he was charged with assault and fail to comply with probation. He was released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date.

 

Bail Violation

On January 21, 2023 at about 3:15AM, an officer from the Brockville Police Service was on patrol in the area of Central Ave. The officer had observed the vehicle, belonging to a male, known to be wanted for the offence of failing to comply with release order bail condition. This was in relation to a previous domestic disturbance investigation.  She observed the area and located the male entering into a Taxi cab shortly after. The vehicle was stopped and the male was placed under arrest. He was then held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Domestic Disturbance

On January 21, 2023 at about 8:00AM, the Brockville Police Service received multiple dropped 911 calls from a cell phone. Police identified the owner of the cell phone in which the calls came from. Officers attended the residence of the female owner, but found she was not there. Investigation revealed there were other locations that the female would frequent. Officers attended those locations to check for concerning emergencies. Officers arrived at one of the locations on Briarwood Cres. There, they observed a pick-up truck running in the driveway. Inside the truck was a 24-year-old male, who is the boyfriend of the female believed to be calling 911. The female was then located in the rear seat of the truck and was visibly upset with obvious injuries. These are described as non-life-threatening injuries. It was learned that the female was being held in the truck against her will. She was taken to the Brockville General Hospital for medical attention. The male was arrested, charged and held for a bail hearing for the offences of assault cause bodily harm x 2, forcible confinement, utter threats and was also in breach of a conditional sentence order. Fortunately, the officers located the female when they did and prevented any further risk to her safety.

 

Warrant Execution

On January 21, 2023 at about 9:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received information regarding a 28-year-old male, known to be wanted for domestic related assault, uttering threats and mischief under $5,000.00. He was observed attending a residence on George St. Officers made attempts to speak to someone from within the residence, but were not receiving cooperation. There was a vehicle outside the residence that was found to be stolen. It was believed someone from inside this residence was responsible. Members from the Brockville Police Service Emergency Response Team, attended to assist. Officers did make contact with people from within the residence and investigation revealed that a 19-year-old female, was responsible for the stolen vehicle. She was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. Officers did receive consent to enter the property. The residence was entered and searched. There was a 39-year-old male, located within the residence, found to be in violation of his release order conditions. He was placed under arrest and removed from the area. Officers continued to search the building and the 28-year-old male, wanted for the domestic related offences, was located hiding in the attic. He was placed under arrest as well.

The 19-year-old female was released after being charged with possession of stolen property and issued a future court date. The 39-year-old male, was charged with two counts of fail to comply with release order. He was also released with a future court date. The 28-year-old male was arrested on the outstanding warrant for the above mentioned domestic related charges. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.     

 

January 13 – 15, 2023 News Release

Warrant Executed for Domestic Related Assault and Threats

On January 13, 2023 at about 8:00PM, the Brockville Police Service performed a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle on Stewart Blvd. Officers located a 34-year-old male in the vehicle who was known to be wanted for domestic related assault and assault with a weapon. The male was wanted in relation to an investigation that initiated on January 12, 2023. While the male was in custody, he continued to make threats towards the female victim to police. He was additionally charged with utter threats and held in custody for a bail hearing. The male has since been released on bail conditions.

 

Domestic Disturbance

On January 13, 2023 at about 10:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint regarding a domestic disturbance at an address on Bartholomew St. Officers arrived and located the male and female involved. Investigation revealed that the 36-year-old male, had caused damage to some furniture during the argument and assaulted the female on two recent, but previous occasions. The male was arrested and held for a bail hearing for the offences of two counts of assault and mischief.    

 

Wanted Person Located

On January 15, 2023 at about Midnight, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint regarding a suspicious person outside a residence on James St. W. Officers arrived and located the 27-year-old male on the property. This male was wanted in relation to a Break and Enter and theft investigation from the previous day. That incident occurred at a residence within the same vicinity on James St. W. He was taken into custody and later released with a future court date after being charged with break and enter, mischief and breach probation.
