Impaired Driving

On November 22, 2022 at about 2:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a fail to remain motor vehicle collision that took place in the area of Oak St. There were multiple witnesses to the incident and also debris left at the scene. Investigation revealed the registered owner of the vehicle through which the driver was identified. Shortly after, officers located the driver and learned that he was a 47-year-old, local male. It was determined that he was intoxicated, on bail and previously prohibited from driving. He was arrested and later the male also refused to provide breath samples. After further investigation the suspect vehicle was impounded and he was charged with impaired operation, refusal to comply with breath demand, failure to stop after accident and fail to comply with release order. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.   

Bail Violation

On November 24, 2022 at about 10:15AM, members of the Brockville Police Service attended to a residence on Perth St., in an attempt to serve court documents to the resident. While there, a male answered the door who was identified to be a 36-year-old male. The male was believed to be on bail conditions to abstain communication with the resident of the home and not attend that location. Investigation confirmed this information and the male was arrested. He was held for a bail hearing for the offence of fail to comply with release order.

Warrants

On November 24, 2022 at about 5:30PM, an officer from the Brockville Police Service located a 38-year-old, wanted male, in the area of Kensington Pkwy. The warrant was in relation to a fail to comply with probation charge. The male was placed under arrest and released on paperwork with a future court date.

Fire

On November 25, 2022 at about 4:00AM, the Brockville Police Service and the Brockville Fire Department, attended a location on Perth St. regarding a possible fire. It was discovered that the fire was due to a mattress that had ignited. Residents in the building had slowed the spread of the fire with an extinguisher. The Brockville Fire Department confirmed that the fire was out. The exact cause is unknown at this time and further investigation into safety is being conducted at the building. Luckily, no one was injured during this incident nor was anyone displaced.   

Domestic Dispute

On November 19, 2022 at about 1:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received a call regarding a domestic dispute. Information was that a 55-year-old male was in an argument with his girlfriend in the area of Broadway Ave., over taking care of a dog. During the argument, the male threw his cellphone at the female striking her in the face. The male was agitated with officers investigating the incident. He also made comments that he was going back to his residence to kill himself in front of her. The male was arrested for assault with a weapon. Further investigation revealed a historical incident from earlier in the year. As a result he was additionally charged with assault cause bodily harm. He was held for a bail hearing.

Bail Violation

On November 19, 2022 at about 9:30, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint regarding a male not abiding by his bail conditions. It was discovered that a 47-year-old male had attended to the Youth Arena on Broadway Ave. While there, he made contact and communicated with a female he was on undertaking conditions to abstain from communicating with. Officers located the male at a later time and placed him under arrest for fail to comply with undertaking. He was charged and released with a future court date.

Shoplifting and Drugs

On November 20, 2022 at about 8:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a shoplifter at the Super Store on Parkedale Ave.  Loss Prevention Officer observed a 27-year-old male, concealing items in his jacket and then enter into the washroom. Officers located the male in the washroom and found him to be in possession of fentanyl as he was about to use the substance. He was arrested for theft under $5,000.00 and possession of fentanyl. He was charged and released with a future court date.

Warrant Execution for Large Amount of Stolen Property

On November 13, 2022 the Brockville Police Service began an investigation in relation to a theft of a large amount of power tools. With assistance from the OPP Leeds, Grenville and Lanark Community Street Crime Unit, as well as the OPP Emergency Response Team a search warrant was executed at a residence in Augusta Township on November 15, 2022. As a result Police seized in excess of $50,000.00 worth of stolen power tools, firearms, and methamphetamine. Subsequently two local men were charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, carless storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order, and theft over $5000.00, and possession of a controlled substance.

Fire

On November 11, 2022 at about 2:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received information from the Brockville fire Department, of a fire set under a play structure at Victoria Park. Both services attended and made sure that the fire was out. The fire had been put out by other witnesses in the area. It was stated that approximately 6 youths were at the location and believed to be responsible. Luckily, there was no damage caused. We thank those who assisted prior to emergency services attending. We ask the public to please make sure you call the appropriate services if activity like this is observed.

Structure Fire

On November 12, 2022 at about 4:30AM, the Brockville Police Service received information of a structure fire in the area of Buell St. and Church St. The Brockville Fire Department attended and the appropriate buildings were evacuated for safety. The buildings affected were 20, 22 and 24 Church St. Any residents who were displaced due to the evacuation were provided shelter and other assistance. The fire was believed to have started in one of the units in the 22 Church St. building. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation with the Brockville Fire Department and the Ontario Fire Marshal. 

Harassment

On November 11, 2022 at about 11:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received information from a female who resides in the Bridlewood area, that she was being harassed by her ex-boyfriend. Officers attended and investigation revealed that her 29-year-old, ex-boyfriend was harassing her. He was arrested and charged with criminal harassment. He was released with conditions and a future court date.

Drug Possession

On November 13, 2022 at about 5:00AM, the Brockville Police Service received information of a suspicious male, sitting in a vehicle at the Esso Gas Station at 578 Stewart Blvd. The male had been there for approximately an hour. Officers arrived and identified the suspicious person to be a 45-year-old male. The officers determined that he was in possession of a quantity of crystal meth. He was arrested and charged with possession of crystal meth and fail to comply with probation. He was released with a future court date.  

Drug Possession Arrest

On November 10, 2022 at about 9:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received reliable information regarding a 56-year-old male, in possession of drugs. In collaboration with the Kingston Police Service, it was determined that the subject was on a Via train and would be attending Brockville. Officers attended to the train when it was stopped. The male subject was identified and placed under arrest. Upon searching the male, officers located a quantity of fentanyl and methamphetamine. The total street value of the drugs is estimated at approximately $6,000.00. He was charged with possession of fentanyl and methamphetamine for the purposes of trafficking and fail to comply with probation. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Stunt Driving

On November 10, 2022 at about 3:30PM, an officer was monitoring traffic in the area of Parkedale Ave. While there, they observed a vehicle travelling at the speed of 128km/h in the 50km/h zone. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as a 17-year-old male. As a result the vehicle was impounded, driver’s licence suspended and the driver was charged with stunt driving. We receive many complaints from the community regarding speeding. Needless to say, speeds like this are absolutely unacceptable as they are extremely dangerous.    

Break and Enter Leads to Arrest

On November 8, 2022 at about 9:00AM, the Brockville Police Service received a report of a break and enter that had taken place at the Meow Town animal shelter on Stewart Blvd. Animals were previously brought to the shelter and they were being kept at this location for their well-being. On November 7, 2022, the owners had been advised that the animals were there and they could attend the following day to retrieve them. Investigation revealed that one of the owners attended after hours and broke into the business. The owner did cause damage and then took the animal. A 35-year-old male was identified as the owner and one responsible. He was arrested and charged with break enter. He was released with conditions and a future court date.   

Warrant

On November 8, 2022 at about 3:00PM, a 43-year-old male turned himself into the Brockville Police Service, as he was aware of an outstanding bench warrant for failing to attend court. The court date was in relation to a charges of dangerous driving and impaired operation. He was later released with documents and a future court date. 

Robbery with a Weapon and Threats

On October 31, 2022 at about 7:15PM, the Brockville Police Service received information regarding a robbery. The incident took place outside the Beattie Dodge dealership on Chase St. A staff member of the dealership observed a male sitting near his vehicle while he was leaving for the day. The male subject then pulled a knife out of his pocket and approached the staff member. He demanded his phone, told him to mind his own business and threatened to stab him. Officers quickly attended the area, located and identified the 36-year-old male subject responsible. He was placed under arrest and charged with robbery with a weapon, possession of weapons for dangerous purpose, uttering threats and two counts of fail to comply with probation. He was held for a bail hearing. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

Domestic Assault

On October 30, 2022 at about 12:30AM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a domestic dispute in the area of Wellington St. Investigation revealed that a male and female couple were engaged in an argument when the 27-year-old male, struck his girlfriend in the back of the head. The injuries did not require medical attention. He left the residence prior to police arriving. The male was later contacted and he turned himself into to police. He was arrested on October 31, 2022 at about 9:00AM. He was later released with conditions after being charged with domestic related assault.

Uttering Threats

On October 31, 2022 at about 9:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received a report of a disturbance that was taking place at BGH emergency. It was learned that a 20-year-old male was waiting in the waiting room for assistance. He became agitated and would not comply with remaining calm for staff at the hospital. During the time dealing with officers, the male began making threats to harm his ex-girlfriend and expressed having a plan. At that time he was placed under arrest. After speaking to the medical staff, he was held in custody for a bail hearing for the offences of uttering threats and two counts of failing to comply with probation.

Mischief

On November 2, 2022 at about 3:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a disturbance at The Beer Store on Central Ave. Information was the a 22-year-old male was agitated out front of the store and began screaming at another male and kicked his truck causing a dent. The male subject began to flee the area but was followed but other witnesses. Officers attended the area and located the 22-year-old male. He was placed under arrest and charged with mischief under $5,000.00. He was released with paperwork and a future court date.

Warrants

Between November 1^st and 2^nd, 2022, the Brockville Police Service arrested four individuals in relation to various outstanding arrest warrants. They are as follows;

• 27-year-old male was arrested in relation to a bench warrant for failing to attend court and released with a future court date.
• 29-year-old female was arrested during a disturbance on Church St. in relation to a bench warrant for failing to attend court and released with a future court date.
• 20-year-old male was arrested in regards to a mischief investigation and held for bail.
• 44-year-old male arrested on a probation warrant and released with a future court date.

Impaired Driving

On October 29, 2022 at about 12:30AM, officers from the Brockville Police Service observed a 23-year-old male, operating a silver car at a high rate of speed, in the area of Parkedale Ave. A traffic stop was initiated and it was determined that the driver had been consuming. A roadside screening test was administered which resulted in a fail. At that time he was placed under arrest for operation while over 80mgs. He was transported to the Brockville Police Service for further breath sample testing. It was confirmed that he was operating over 80mgs. His driver’s licence was suspended, vehicle impounded, charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80mgs and operation while impaired. He was later released with documents and a future court date.

Warrant

On October 28, 2022 at about 2:15PM, officers from the Brockville Police Service observed a 27-year-old male, known to be wanted on multiple warrants. The male was observed on King St. W. where he attempted to evade police. He was located nearby and arrested without incident. The warrants were in relation to charges of fail to comply with release order, theft over $5,000.00 and theft under $5,000.00.  There was also a bench warrant for failing to attend court on previous court appearance dates. Those previous charges are for uttering threats, fail to attend for fingerprinting and breach of probation. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Assault Cause Bodily Harm

On October 27, 2022 at about Noon, the Brockville Police Service engaged into an investigation of an assault that had taken place involving two teens. It was learned that the two teens were in an altercation stemming from the possession of a vape pen. The altercation became physical and a 15-year-old male was identified to be responsible for the assault. It was later determined that the injuries to the victim were significant enough that the teen would be charged with assault cause bodily harm. No further details on the exact injuries will be released for the sake of the victim. They can be described as non-life-threatening. The teen responsible was contacted and turned himself into police on October 28, 2022 at about 8:00PM. He was released with conditions and a future court date.   

Domestic Dispute

On October 27, 2022 at about 5:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received information of a physical altercation between a male and female couple, in the area of Perth St. A witness had called police advising they observed a male throw a female to the ground and throw a punch at her. Officers quickly attended and identified the subject to be a 16-year-old male. He was placed under arrest and charged with assault. The female did not sustain lasting injuries. He was later released on an undertaking with conditions.

Domestic Dispute

On October 23, 2022 at about 11:00AM, the Brockville Police Service conducted an investigation into a domestic assault incident in the area of Perth St. The incident was reported on the 23^rd however, it had taken place a several days previous. Investigation revealed that the female victim in the incident was kicked and punched by her 36-year-old boyfriend. Officers made contact with the male and made arrangements for him to turn himself into police. He was arrested on October 27, 2022 at about 5:30PM. He was charged with assault and later released on an undertaking with conditions.

Warrants for Sex Assault

On October 27, 2022 at about 6:30PM, the Brockville Police Service arrested a 21-year-old male who was wanted for two counts of sexual assault. The assaults were previously reported and involved two different female victims. Officers attended a residence in the Center area of the city. Officers had the previously received warrants to effect the arrest. There was an altercation that took place at the residence, however, the male was taken into custody and no one was seriously injured. The male was held for a bail hearing on the above charges. No further details will be given in respect of victim privacy.

Break and Enter

Over the past few days the Brockville Police Service has received several reports of B&E’s to various commercial and residential properties. There has been a variety of property taken from these locations including various tools and food and beverage items. Police are currently investigating the incidents. This is a reminder to the community to ensure all valuables are secured on your property and any other security measures are functional.

Bail Violation

On October 24, 2022 at about 4:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received information that a 44-year-old male, was at the residence of a person who he was on conditions to abstain communication with. Officers attended the residence and the male in question answered the door. The male was on a release order with the non-communication condition due to a previous incident with safety concerns. The male was arrested for failing to comply with release order and held in custody for a bail hearing. 

Bail Violation

On October 25, 2022 at about 11:30AM, a 21-year-old male attended the Brockville Police Service to turn himself in on an outstanding arrest warrant. The warrant was in relation to a charge of failing to comply with his release order bail conditions. He was not to be outside his residence unless in the presence of his surety which he failed to comply with. After turning himself into police, he was arrested and held for a bail hearing.

Warrant

On October 25, 2022 at about 3:00PM, the Brockville Police Service located a 29-year-old male in the area of Central Ave., known to be wanted. This was a bench warrant for failing to attend court and it was in relation to a previous charge of assault. The male was placed under arrest and when searched officers located a small amount of crystal meth. He was held in custody for a bail hearing on the warrant and additionally charged with possession of crystal meth.

Shoplifting

On October 25, 2022 at about 4:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a theft from the Canadian Tire on Parkedale Ave. Loss prevention at the store observed a 38-year-old male, selecting items and concealing them on his person. The male left the store making no attempt to pay for the merchandise and was confronted by Loss Prevention. The male was not cooperative and made it to his vehicle. Officers arrived shortly after and placed the male under arrest. The items were recovered and the total value was approximately $275.00. It was also found that he was on an undertaking with a condition to not occupy the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle. This condition was imposed due to previous safety concerns. He was charged with theft under $5,000.00 and fail to comply with undertaking. He was then held for a bail hearing.
