Weapons offences and Robbery:

On March 25, 2022 approximately 5:00 pm, Brockville Police received a call about an assault that had occurred in the area of 12 Central Avenue. The victim was reporting being struck with a firearm (handgun) on the head as well as with a bat or club. The assault was carried out by two male attackers who were seen fleeing into a nearby unit.

Police responded to the area and set up containment, eventually clearing the residence and arresting two male parties from within. One of the arrested males was found to be uninvolved in the assault and was later released from custody with a court date unrelated criminal matters. The other male was held in custody and is facing charges of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.

Brockville Police continue to search for the second, 41-year-old male, who is wanted for numerous charges including robbery with a firearm, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, multiple firearm prohibition breaches and multiple probation order beaches. This is believed to be an isolated and targeted incident.

Warrants:

On March 24, 2022 at about 11:30AM, an officer observed a 32-year-old male on Pearl St. W. who immediately started running once he observed the officer. A foot pursuit ensued where the officer ended up locating the male hiding in the rear of the Rexall pharmacy. Once the male was located, it was learned that he had multiple arrest warrants. There was a bench warrant for fail to attend court, two warrants for mischief under $5,000.00 and a witness warrant out of London, ON. The male was given a new court date for the Brockville related charges and London Police attended and took custody of the male regarding the witness warrant.

Further;

On March 25, 2022 at about 4:00PM, an officer from the Brockville Police Service located a 34-year-old male on Perth St., known to be wanted for breach probation. Officers arrested and charged the male. He was released on an undertaking with a future court date.

Further;

On March 27, 2022 at about 5:00AM, a 44-year-old male turned himself into the Brockville Police Service on an outstanding bench warrant for fail to attend court. The male was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Further;

On March 28, 2022 the Brockville Police Service received information from the Kingston Police Service, that a 24-year-old male was wanted and is a resident in Brockville. He was wanted for domestic related offences. Officers from the Brockville Police Service located the male outside his residence at about 2:30AM on Water St. The male was co-operative and placed under arrest. He was turned over to Kingston Police and they took custody. 

 

Domestic Disturbance:

A male and female were both charged for drug possession after reports of a possible domestic dispute. On March 25, 2022 at about 8:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a male and female yelling in a residence on Central Ave. Officers arrived and located a 33-year-old female and a 24-year-old male. Investigation revealed that the two were in a verbal argument and that there were some concerns for the female’s mental health regarding self-harm. It was also found the they were both in possession of a quantity of fentanyl. Both individuals were charged with possession of fentanyl and the female was taken to BGH regarding concerns for her mental health.  

 

Impaired Driving:

A male was charged with impaired driving after a single motor vehicle collision. On March 27, 2022 at about 9:45PM, the Brockville Police Service received a report of a single vehicle collision, in the area of Stewart Blvd. just south of Front Ave. Information was that a vehicle had lost control and struck the guard rails. As officers arrived to the area, they located a 27-year-old male, who was walking away from the scene of the collision. He was identified to be the driver of the vehicle. It was quickly determined that he was impaired by alcohol. He was arrested for impaired driving and brought to the Brockville Police Service for the purposes of breath samples. The male provided samples which were more than twice the legal limit. The driver was not injured in the collision, the debris was cleaned up and the vehicle was towed and impounded. He was also charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired and operating with over 80mgs of alcohol in his blood. He was released with a future court date.

 

March 18 – 24, 2022 News Release

Drug Possession

Traffic stop leads to drug possession charges. On March 18, 2022 at about 1:00AM, an officer from the Brockville Police Service performed a traffic stop on Laurier Blvd with concerns for the driver’s sobriety. There were three occupants in the vehicle. Investigation revealed that one of the occupants was an 18-year-old female, who had an arrest warrant, which was issued by the Grenville OPP. The driver was a 25-year-old female, who was found to be in possession of crystal meth and fentanyl. Both females were arrested. It was determined that the driver was not intoxicated. The 25-year-old female was arrested and charged with possession of crystal meth and fentanyl and the 18-year-old female was turned over to the OPP on their warrant.

 

Warrants

Three people were arrested on various arrest warrants. On March 21, 2022 at about 9:45AM, officers from the Brockville Police Service located a 33-year-old female on King St. W. It was discovered that the female had a warrant for her arrest for fail to comply with probation and fail to attend for fingerprints. She was arrested and released with a new court date.

On March 21, 2022 at about 9:30PM, the Brockville Police Service learned that the OPP had a 31-year-old male in their custody. It was learned the male had a bench warrant, which was issued by the Brockville Police Service for fail to attend court. The male was turned over to the Brockville Police Service and was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Further;

On March 21, 2022 at about 11:00PM, the Brockville Police Service learned that the OPP had a 57-year-old male in their custody. It was learned the male had a warrant, which was issued by the Brockville Police Service for theft under $5,000.00. The male was turned over to the Brockville Police Service and was released on documents with a future court date.

 

Domestic Assault

Charges were laid as a result of a domestic dispute. On March 22, 2022 at about 8:00AM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a domestic disturbance in the area of Reynolds Dr. Officers attended the scene and spoke to the victim. The investigation revealed that her 24-year-old boyfriend assaulted the female victim. He had left the scene prior to officers arriving. After reviewing the scene, it was determined that the male had struck the female with a piece of footwear leaving minor injuries, shoved furniture in a manner to strike her, threw and broke a glass, threw a knife at the wall and while leaving, he threatened to come back with a gun. On March 23, 2022 at about 12:15, officers from the Brockville Police Service located the 24-year-old male in the area of Perth St. He was arrested and charged with assault, assault with a weapon, utter threats to cause death, mischief under $5,000 and breach probation. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

March 16 – 19 News Release

Firearm Seized

Three people are in custody after police locate and seize a loaded 9mm handgun. On March 16, 2022 at about 10:00PM, officers from the Brockville Police Service located a suspicious vehicle parked on Tunnel Ave. Associated with the vehicle were a 39-year-old female and two males, 48 and 24 years of age. Investigation revealed that there were multiple alcohol containers open inside the vehicle and the 48-year-old male was breaching a curfew bail condition. That male was arrested and the vehicle was searched. Under the driver seat of the vehicle, officers located a loaded, 9mm Taurus G2s handgun. All three were arrested and further searching found quantities of cocaine and fentanyl. The three were held for bail hearings for various offences including, but not limited to; possession of a loaded restricted firearm, carry firearm in a careless manner, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, possession of cocaine and fentanyl. Luckily no one was injured in the incident and this firearm is in police custody.

Public Mischief

A female was charged with public mischief after falsifying information to police. On March 4, 2022, the Brockville Police Service engaged in an investigation into a complaint made by a 30-year-old female. The female has made multiple complaints to the police regarding various family matter issues. Police found that the female was fabricating evidence to cause the police to engage into an investigation. These false reports cause a significant drain on resources which, can be better allocated to those in the community who require assistance. Once this information had become known, the 30-year-old female was arrested for public mischief. She was charged and released on an undertaking with a future court date.

 

Credit Card Offences

A male has been charged after attempting to use a credit card that did not belong to him. On March 18, 2022 at about 4:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received multiple complaints on King St. regarding a male who had caused a disturbance. Officers attended the area and also received further information that this male was causing issues at the CIBC on King St. W. Investigation revealed that the male  was a 36-year-old male, who was attempting to get cash from a card that belonged to someone else. He was also found to be in possession of falsified T4 documents. He was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a credit card and fail to comply with probation. He was released on an undertaking with a future court date.

March 13 – 14, 2022 News Release

Assault

A male has been charged with assault. On March 8, 2022 at about 10:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of an assault from a residence on Church St. Officers spoke to the victim who is the resident at that address. He advised that he had a longtime friend over for the afternoon where they were drinking together. Later in the evening, he thought it was time for his friend to leave as it was getting late. His 42-year-old friend became agitated that he was being asked to leave and an argument ensued. It escalated to the point that the 42-year-old male, struck the victim in the face multiple times and also strangled him for a short period. The victim did seek medical attention however, the injuries can be described as non-life-threatening.

The investigation continued and on March 13, 2022 at about 12:30AM, the 42-year-old accused male, was located and arrested for assault. He was later released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date.

 

Transportation Fraud

A male has been charged after refusing to pay for a taxi fare. On March 11, 2022 at about 1:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint from a taxi driver out Cornwall. Officers attended to the taxi’s location and learned that a 46-year-old male, had taken a taxi from Cornwall to Brockville. The arrangement was made in Cornwall that the fare would be approximately $200.00. When they arrived in Brockville, the male disclosed to the driver that he had no way to pay for the fare. Officers attempted to resolve the issue without success. The male was charged with transportation fraud and issued a future court date.

 

Warrant

A male was arrested on an outstanding warrant. On March 12, 2022 at about 3:30AM, the Brockville Police Service located a 52-year-old, wanted male, in the area of Brock St. It was known that the male had an outstanding bench warrant for fail to attend court. He was arrested and issued documents with a future court date.

 

Assault / Disturbance

A reported disturbance leads to two people charged with assault. On March 12, 2022 at about 8:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received multiple 911 calls in regards to a fight at Boston Pizza on Parkedale Ave. Officers quickly responded to find a group of people out front of the restaurant. Investigation revealed that a fight ensued between three males, after one male confronted a 20-year-old male, regarding him vaping inside the restaurant. Also at the table was another 49-year-old male, who took exception to the victim questioning them. Shortly after, the 49-year-old male grabbed the victim by the neck and the 20-year-old began striking him. The victim fell to the ground where both males continued to punch and kick the victim. The fight was partially broken up by staff and others present. Both the 20 and 49-year-old males were arrested for assault. Once the investigation was complete, they were released on an undertaking with conditions and future court date, for the offence of assault. The victim was not seriously injured in the incident.

 

 

 

March 7 – 11, 2022 News Release

Assault

A 44-year-old woman has been charged with assault and breaching conditions. On March 7, 2022 at about 7:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint regarding an assault. Investigation revealed that the 44-year-old woman had attended to an address on Victoria Ave. where she was on undertaking conditions not to attend. She was also to abstain from communicating with the resident, as she has been previously charged with assault on this person. It was learned that the female attended the residence and was then asked to leave. She proceeded to strike the victim in the head and leave the area. Officers located the female a short time later and placed her under arrest for assault, fail to comply with undertaking and fail to comply with probation. She was held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Warrant

On March 7, 2022 at about 10:00PM, officers from the Brockville Police Service located a 50-year-old female who had an outstanding bench warrant for fail to attend court. She was identified during a traffic stop on King St. She was placed under arrest and released shortly after with a future court date.

On March 9, 2022 at about 1:30AM, officers of the Brockville Police Service performed a traffic stop on Stewart Blvd. Investigation revealed that the passenger in the vehicle was a 34-year-old male, who was providing a false name to avoid an arrest. The male had an outstanding warrant for fail to comply with probation. He was arrested on the outstanding warrant and additionally charged with personation. He was held for a bail hearing.

Further;

On March 10, 2022 at about 9:00PM, the Brockville Police Service located a 39-year-old, wanted male, in the area of King ST. W. and Apple St. He was known to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. It was confirmed that the warrant was a bench warrant for fail to attend court. He was arrested and held for a bail hearing.

March 4 – 7, 2022 News Release

Domestic Dispute

A 28-year-old female has been charged with assault as a result of an investigation into a report of a domestic disturbance. The Brockville Police Service received a complaint of the disturbance on March 4, 2022 at about 9:00AM. Officers attended the scene which was learned to be a residence on Delhi St. Investigation revealed that the 28-year-old female had assaulted her male partner by kicking him. She was arrested and charged with assault. The injuries are non-life-threatening. She was later released on conditions with a future court date.

 

Weapons

A 21-year-old male has been charged after possessing weapons and raising concerns for public safety. On March 4, 2022 at about 2:00PM the Brockville Police Service learned of a male who was in possession of a knife in the area of Perth St. He was making comments concerning his mental well-being and safety of others. Due to the level of concern and him carrying a knife with him in public, the male was arrested for offences of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and breach probation. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Mischief and Breach of Probation

A 21-year-old female has been charged with mischief and breaching probation conditions after causing damage to a residence. On March 5, 2022 at about 1:45PM, the Brockville Police Service received a call from a resident on Central Ave., regarding a female causing damage to the front door of a residence. The residence belongs to a female who is now dating the accused female’s ex-boyfriend. Investigation revealed that the female attended the residence to confront her friend, caused damage to the door and left prior to police arriving. Officers did locate the responsible female a short time after in the area of Central Ave and Stewart Blvd. She was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000 and fail to comply with probation. She was released with conditions and a future court date. 

 

Disturbance

A 26-year-old female has been charged as a result of instigating a fight. On March 6, 2022 at about Noon, the Brockville Police Service received information of a fight taking place at the Library on Buell St. Officers attended and spoke to multiple people in the area. Investigation revealed that the accused, 26-year-old female, had assaulted a male and female. The male who was assaulted was the accused female’s ex-boyfriend. The injuries regarding this incident are non-life-threatening. When the accused female was arrested and searched, officers located a small amount of crystal meth. She was charged with two counts of assault, two counts of fail to comply with probation and possession of crystal meth. She was held in custody for a bail hearing. 

 

Impaired Driving and Assaulting an Officer

A 32-year-old female has been charged with impaired related offences and assaulting an officer. On March 6, 2022 at about 4:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a possible impaired female, in a vehicle, at the Youth Arena in Brockville. Officers attended and found a 32-year-old female in the driver seat of a black Dodge Pick-up truck. Investigation quickly revealed that the female in question was impaired. She was arrested and not co-operative with police. She was taken to the Brockville Police Service for further testing. While on route, she was banging the interior of the police vehicle. While at the police station, she not only refused to provide breath samples, she in fact spit on one of the officers. No one was injured in the incident. She was charged with operation while impaired, refusal to comply with breath samples and assaulting a peace officer. The vehicle was also towed and impounded. She was released once sober with a future court date.  

Warrants

Over the weekend, two arrest warrants were executed. On March 6, at about 4:30PM, a 41-year-old male was arrested at the Brockville Police Service on a bench warrant for fail to attend court. Further, on March 7, 2022 at about 1:00AM, a 36-year-old female was located in the area of the 401 on Stewart Blvd. She was arrested on a bench warrant for fail to attend court. Both were released on documents with future court dates.

Domestic incident leads to Criminal Harassment Charges

A 31-year-old Brockville man is facing charges of uttering threats and criminal harassment toward his former common-law after a domestic related occurrence at her workplace yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 5 p.m. yesterday afternoon Brockville Police responded to a call of a male causing a disturbance at a north end business, however when officers arrived the male had left the business with his children in the vehicle he was driving. A short time later police were notified the male had returned and was again causing a scene inside the business and threatening towards his former common-law and a co-worker.

As a result, officers arrested the man for uttering threats and criminal harassment and took him into custody. He was later released with several conditions and will appear in court at a later date.

Probation Breach leads to drug charges

A 37-year-old Brockville man was arrested for Breach of Probation in relation to a domestic related incident from Friday February 25th after being located walking in the Pearl Street area early Thursday morning.

The male was placed under arrest for breach of probation in relation to the incident. Located on the accused incident to arrest was a quantity of crystal methamphetamine. He is now facing charges of breach of probation, possession of a substance, and possession of stolen property.

He was released with a number of conditions and given a future court date.

Fraud Alert

The Brockville Police Service is receiving an increased number of calls regarding potential scams operating in the area both by phone and over the internet. In most cases the person receiving the call is asked to provide the caller or sender with some personal information. This may include a social insurance number, banking information, or ages and number of people living in your house.  Some local scams in the area include pitches for investment opportunities or verification of your personal identity from a financial institution. If you are contacted over email the scammer may also provide a link in the email to go to.

Residents are reminded to never provide personal information over the phone to someone you do not know. If you have questions about the validity of the caller, please contact the local office, bank or institution. If contacted by email or text message, please do not open links from senders you do not know, and just delete the message.

Warrants

Brockville Police arrested four adults yesterday as a result of outstanding arrest warrants being executed.

A 60-year-old Brockville man was arrested yesterday morning just before the lunch hour at a local coffee shop after staff called and asked that he be removed. A check revealed the man had two outstanding warrants for an arrest in September and later failing to show at his scheduled court date, and for a December incident for which he had yet to be located. He was taken into custody and later released with several conditions

At approximately 1:30 p.m. officers on patrol spotted a 38-year-old Brockville woman outside a local convenience store who had outstanding warrants after she failed to appear in court in January on charges stemming from a November arrest for theft.  She will appear later today in court for a bail hearing.

A 47-year-old man was arrested yesterday afternoon is Ottawa as a result of a warrant held by the Brockville Police for a July 2018 incident. The male was scheduled to appear in Brockville court for his trial on February 7th in relation to the incident, and failed to show in court on that date and a warrant was issued. Members of the Brockville Police Service attended Ottawa and conveyed the accused back to Brockville where he will appear for a bail hearing today.

Early this morning, officers while on patrol spotted a male who appeared to quickly hide from them as he saw the police car approach. A short time later officers saw this same individual and were able to stop him and learned he too, had outstanding warrants and just after 5 a.m. he was arrested on the strength of the warrant. Upon searching the 36 year old man officers located a knife on him. They also learned he was breaching the conditions of his probation and release orders.

Stolen Vehicle

 

Brockville Police are investigating the theft of a 2022 Black Dodge Ram pick-up from overnight Sunday from apartment parking lots in the Laurier and Kensington area.

Yesterday morning the vehicle owner contacted police advising he had parked his vehicle in the lot late Sunday night and when he went to get in the vehicle Monday morning it was gone. The vehicle is a 2022 Black Dodge Ram Ontario licence BK31581.

Warrants

 

Three adults are in custody after their outstanding warrants were executed in separate incidents yesterday.

Early yesterday morning Brockville Police received a call of a suspicious vehicle running on the street for over an hour in a residential neighbourhood in the city’s south end. When officers arrived, they found a 24-year-old female who was on a Conditional Sentence Order to be in her place of residence at all times except for a short period of time during the day in the afternoon. As a result, the woman was arrest for Breach of her Conditional Sentence Order and held for bail yesterday afternoon.

A 51-year-old Brockville area man with outstanding warrants for Failing to Appear in court on charges from September for theft and breaching his release order was spotted by Brockville officers late yesterday afternoon walking downtown. He was subsequently arrested and taken into custody without incident and held for a bail hearing and warrants executed.

The Brockville Police executed a third warrant early this morning with the assistance of their friends at the Gananoque Police. A 42-year-old area man was located in Gananoque by the Gananoque Police who learned there was an outstanding warrant from the Brockville Police Service for a domestic disturbance from last summer. Police from Brockville attended Gananoque and conveyed the accused to Brockville where he too, will appear for a bail hearing this morning.
