RE:  Robbery

The Brockville Police Service is investigating a robbery of the Bank of Montreal (BMO) around 5:00 pm on February 1, 2022. 2 black male suspects, in dark clothing entered the bank armed with a firearm and demanded money. No one was injured in the robbery and the suspects fled on foot from the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police are asking that anyone who was in the area of the BMO around that time, that noticed anyone or anything suspicious to contact Det. Graham Coe at 613-342-0127 ext. 4245.

Police are also asking residents in the area who may have home, dashboard or business surveillance to check their footage for anything suspicious.

January 28 – 31, 2022 News Release

Shoplifting

On January 28, 2022 at about 8:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint about a shoplifter at Canadian Tire on Parkedale Ave. Information was that a male attended to the store and selected and tried on a new pair of shoes. He then left his old shoes on the shelf. The male was leaving the store making no attempt to pay for the merchandise. It was also found that the male selected a pair of gloves. Staff stopped the suspect and police were notified. Officers arrived and placed him under arrest. He was identified to be a 52-year-old male. He was charged and released with a new court date for the offence of theft under $5,000.00 and fail to comply with probation.

 

Domestic Dispute

On January 29, 2022 at about 1:00AM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint about a domestic dispute on Abbott St. Officers attended and spoke to the couple involved. Investigation revealed that both the parties had been consuming alcohol that evening which contributed to the escalation of their argument. The 38-year-old male had assaulted his girlfriend and caused damage inside the residence. As a result the male suspect was arrested and charged for the offences of assault and two counts of mischief under $5,000.00 in regards to the damages. The injuries are described as non-life-threatening. He was later released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date.

 

Pursuit

On January 30, 2022 at about 11:15PM, an officer from the Brockville Police Service was on patrol and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle was a white BMW car. The vehicle stop was attempted due to multiple Highway Traffic Act violations. The vehicle entered the 401 in the Eastbound direction, fleeing from police. The vehicle quickly reached speeds in the range of approximately 200km/h. The pursuit was quickly terminated due to safety concerns. There was information that this suspect vehicle was involved in other jurisdictions in relation to other offences and pursuits. The investigation is continuing. 

January 24 – 28, 2022 News Release

Warrants

On January 24, 2022 at about 11:30AM, the Brockville Police Service learned information on the whereabouts of a 34-year-old male, who was wanted on a Bench warrant for fail to attend court. The male failed to attend court on a robbery charge which occurred last year. Information was that the male was going to be attending a location on Stewart Blvd. Officers attended the area and located the male. He was arrested on the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

Further;

On January 25, 2022 at about 8:00AM, the Brockville Police Service received a call to attend the area of Pearl St. W. and Wall St., to assist a female exhibiting symptoms of a drug overdose. Paramedics also attended the area as well. Officers located the female and identified her to be a 23-year-old female, who had multiple warrants for failing to comply with her bail conditions. When officers approached her, the female attempted to flee from police and attended a residence in the nearby area. Shortly after, the female was located and received assistance from paramedics. She was also taken to the Brockville General Hospital for additional medical attention. Once she was cleared medically, she was arrested for fail to comply with release order and held in custody for a bail hearing.  

 

Break and Enter

On January 24, 2022 at about 3:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received information about a suspect involved in an attempt break and enter. Information was that the suspect had attempted to break into the Pearl Street Laundromat the day previous on January 23rd. The suspect was captured by video surveillance and observed walking in the area of Pearl St. W. Officers located and identified the suspect to be a 23-year-old male. He was arrested and searched where he was also found to be in possession of break in tools. The male was held in custody for a bail hearing and charged with break and enter, possession of break in tools, breach of probation and breach of weapons prohibition.

Stolen Vehicle / Drugs

On January 25, 2022 at about 4:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received information from the OPP of a possible stolen vehicle. Information was that the stolen vehicle was a red Honda Civic and that it was likely discarded in the area of Tunnel Ave. Officers attended and at about 4:30PM, located the vehicle. At that time, it was found that the vehicle was not abandoned. In fact, it had three occupants. Once the vehicle was recovered, the vehicle owners were not requesting to proceed with charges. However, one of the occupants was identified to be a 31-year-old male, who was in possession of approximately 1 gram of crystal meth. He was arrested, charged and released with a future court date for the offence of possession of crystal meth.

 Domestic Dispute

On January 27, 2022 at about 2:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a domestic dispute at a residence on Central Ave. Officers arrived and spoke to the two parties involved. Investigation revealed that the couple were engaged in an argument which escalated to the point that a 24-year-old female assaulted her boyfriend. The female was arrested for the offence of assault. She was held for a bail hearing due to safety concerns.

 

January 21 – 24, 2022 News Release

Assault

On January 21, 2022 the Brockville Police Service received information that a staff member at the Brockville General Hospital was assaulted by a patient of the Mental Health department. The assault actually had taken place the night previous on January 20th. The staff member was struck multiple times and threatened by the patient. This suspect is described as a 22-year-old female. Luckily, the injuries are non-life-threatening. The female suspect has been charged with assault and uttering threats. She will also be arrested and held for a bail hearing once she is released from hospital care.

 

Bail Violation

On January 22, 2022 at about 1:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received information that a 36-year-old male had breached his bail conditions. Information was that the male attended a residence on Keefer St. and confronted a person who he was to abstain communication from. These were conditions due to previous criminal investigations and safety concerns. Later that day at about 6:00PM, officers located the male suspect and he was placed under arrest. He was held for a bail hearing for the offence of fail to comply with release order.

 

Drug Related Traffic Stop

On January 23, 2022 at about 2:30AM, officers from the Brockville Police Service investigated a 40-year-old male and a 23-year-old female in a traffic stop on Stewart Blvd. Investigation revealed that the two were in possession of approximately 28 grams of cocaine and 0.2 grams of crystal meth. Both were arrested. It was also found that the female had an outstanding warrant for fail to attend court. Once the investigation was complete, the female was held in custody for a bail hearing on the warrant and two charges for the possession of drugs mentioned above. The male was released on an undertaking with a court date for the two drug possession charges. The male was additionally charged with provincial offences including drive a vehicle with cannabis readily available under the Cannabis Control Act and other Highway traffic act offences.

 

Harassment

On January 23, 2022 at about 1:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a neighbour dispute in the area of Laurier Blvd. Officers had spoken with the individuals involved multiple times that day. After further investigation, it was determined that a 59-year-old male was harassing his neighbours and interfering with them using their property. The male suspect had been given multiple opportunities to cease his actions, however, he continued. The male suspect was arrested. He was later released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date.

 

Warrants

On January 21, 2022 at about 6:00PM, a 31-year-old female with an outstanding warrant for fail to attend court, turned herself into the Brockville Police Service. The female was arrested and released with a new court date.

On January 22, 2022 at about 6:30PM, 26-year-old male with an outstanding warrant for fail to attend court, turned himself into the Brockville Police Service. The male was arrested and released with a new court date.

On January 23, 2022 at about 4:00PM, a 29-year-old female with an outstanding warrant for fail to attend court, turned herself into the Brockville Police Service. The female was arrested and released with a new court date.

On January 24, 2022 just after midnight, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint about a 38-year-old female refusing to leave the lobby area of the CIBC on King St. When officers arrive they found that the female had an outstanding warrant for fail to attend court. She was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

 

January 19 – 21, 2022 News Release

Shoplifting

On January 19, 2022 at about 11:00AM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint regarding a shoplifter at Mark’s Work Warehouse on Parkedale Ave. Information was that they recognized the male suspect as he had been in the store and stolen in the past. Officers attended and identified the male to be a 32-year-old male. The past thefts were captured by video surveillance footage. The male was arrested for theft under $5,000.00, possession of stolen property and fail to comply with probation. He was later released on an undertaking with a future court date.

 

Fail to Stop / Pursuit

On January 20, 2022 at about 3:30AM, the Brockville Police Service received information regarding an incident of road rage. The complainant was a male involved in some type of altercation which escalated to him being followed by an unknown person in a white Ford SUV. The complainant attempted to flee in his own vehicle. Officers attended the area described by the complainant and intercepted the suspect vehicle in the area of Stewart Blvd and the 401.  The suspect vehicle failed to stop for police and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit was terminated shortly thereafter due to safety concerns. The owner of the vehicle has been identified and spoken to. During that conversation, the vehicle was reported stolen by the owner. The vehicle was recovered by the OPP in the Mallorytown area. No driver has been identified at this time. The investigation is still ongoing.

 

Domestic Dispute

On January 20, 2022 at about 11:00PM,  the an officer from the OPP stopped to assist a female on Centennial Rd. The female reported to the officer that she was assaulted and required assistance. Officers from the Brockville Police Service attended and continued the investigation. It was found that the two individuals involved were a 46-year-old male and a 41-year-old female. Both were to abstain from communicating with one another in relation to previous domestic related offences. Both were arrested in relation to the condition breaches. During the investigation on this date, it was discovered that the male had assaulted the female. Once the investigation was completed, the female was released on an undertaking with a court date for the offence of fail to comply with undertaking. The male was held for bail in relation to the offences of assault, fail to comply with undertaking, fail to comply with release order and breach of Recognizance.  

 

Warrants

On January 19, 2022 the Brockville Police Service executed two arrest warrants. They are the following;

  • 46-year-old male located and arrested on an arrest warrant issued by the Smith’s Falls Police Service for the offence of public mischief. The male was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
  • 47-year-old male located and arrested on warrant for fail to attend court. The warrant was issued by the Gananoque Police Service. The male was later released on an appearance notice with a future court date.

January 13 – 17, 2022 News Release

Warrants

On January 13, 2022 at about 11:00AM, the Brockville Police Service attended an address on Perth St. regarding a call to check the residence for occupants well-being. When doing so they located a 27-year-old male who was wanted for failing to appear for fingerprints. He was arrested and later released on an undertaking with a future court date.

Further;

On January 13, 2022 at about 7:00PM, the Brockville Police Service attended a call on Water St. regarding an unwanted Person. The male who was unwanted is known to police to be a 38-year-old, wanted male. Officers attended and located the male just a short distance away from the area. He was arrested on the outstanding bench warrant for failing to attend court. He was released on an appearance notice with a new court date.

Further;

On January 14, 2022 at about 2:00PM, officers from the Brockville Police Service were on patrol and observed a 40-year-old male known to be wanted for theft under $5,000.00 and fail to comply with probation conditions. The male was arrested and taken to the Brockville Police Service. Once the investigation was complete, he was released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date.   

 

Shoplifting

 

On January 13, 2022 at about 4:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint from staff at the Metro on King St. They found that a 39-year-old female was caught shoplifting in the store. Officers attended and placed the female under arrest for theft under $5,000.00. The total value of the theft was approximately $30.00. Shortly after the female was released on an appearance notice with a future court date.

Further;

On January 15, 2022 at about 1:00PM, the Brockville Police Service responded to the Dollarama at the 1000 Islands Mall on Parkedale Ave. in regards to a shoplifting complaint. It was described that a female was in the store and had taken merchandise without making any attempt to pay. The female was located on the sidewalk out front of the store. She was arrested and identified to be a 38-year-old female. Upon searching the female, officers located approximately $30.00 worth of property from the store and a small amount (0.5g) of crystal meth. She was charged with possession of stolen property, fail to comply with probation and possession of crystal meth. She was released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date. 

 

Domestic Dispute

On January 15, 2022 at about 6:30PM, the Brockville Police Service attended to a residence on James St. in regards to a domestic dispute. Officers arrived and the investigation revealed that a 28-year-old male had assaulted his girlfriend and left the residence prior to police arrival. The injuries can be described as non-life-threatening. Later, the male learned that he was wanted by police and he turned himself into officers to be arrested for assault. Once the investigation was complete, he was released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date.

Firearm and Weapons Possession

On January 11, 2022 at about 9:30PM, an officer from the Brockville Police Service investigated a suspicious vehicle in the area of the Via Rail station on Perth St. The solo occupant of the vehicle was a 50-year-old male who was found to be wanted on an unendorsed warrant, conditional sentence order and was prohibited from possessing weapons. The male was then arrested and upon searching him, officers found a Derringer style Smith and Wesson revolver hand gun. The gun was tucked in his waistband and loaded with a single .22 caliber round. The search continued and officers also found a set of brass knuckles and a switchblade knife. Additionally, almost 90g grams of crystal meth was concealed in his coat. The male was held in custody for a bail hearing for multiple offences including possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition x 3, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose x 2; possession of prohibited or restricted firearm; carry concealed weapon; knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm; carry firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner, possession of loaded restricted firearm and possession of crystal meth for the purpose of trafficking.

 

 

 

Shoplifting

On January 10, 2022 at about 4:00PM, officers from the Brockville Police Service attended to Canadian Tire on Parkedale Ave. in response to a complaint of a shoplifter. It was reported that a male had entered the store and filled a cart with merchandise. The male suspect exited the store making no attempt to pay for the items. As police were notified quickly, officers were able to arrive on scene soon enough to make contact with the male before he was gone. When the officers approached, the male decided to run and officers pursued on foot. Shortly after the male was arrested for the theft. The male suspect was not cooperative with his identification at first but, with further investigation, it was revealed that he was a 55-year-old male. The stolen merchandise was recovered and totaled an approximate value of $2,800.00. When he was searched upon the arrest, officers located 1.8g of cocaine in his possession. The suspect was held for a bail hearing for the offences of theft under $5,000.00, obstruct peace officer and possession of cocaine.   

Bail Violation

On January 10, 2022 at about 10:00PM, the Brockville Police Service responded to a complaint of a domestic dispute in the area of Brock St. There, officers located a 31-year-old female who was known to be wanted. No criminal offence was reported regarding the dispute however, the female was arrested on the outstanding warrant. The warrant was in regards to a charge for failing to comply with her release order bail conditions. She was held in custody for a bail hearing.

January 6 – 10, 2022 News Release

Bail Violation

On January 6, 2022 at about 9:00PM, the Brockville Police Service attended to a residence on Kensington Pkwy. regarding a compliant of someone breaching their bail conditions. Officers arrived and investigation revealed that a 32-year-old male was visiting his ex-girlfriend when he is on bail conditions to abstain from communicating with her. The male was previously charges with offences that caused the conditions to be implemented. Once this information was learned, he was arrested and charged with the offence of failing to comply with release order and held for a bail hearing.

 

Robbery

On January 6, 2022 at about 9:30PM, the Brockville Police Service attended to the Shoppers Drug Mart on Parkedale Ave. in regards to a robbery. Information was that a male suspect attended the store and selected many items partially filling a shopping cart. He proceeded to leave the store making no attempt to pay for the merchandise. The suspect was confronted by an employee about the merchandise which he responded by pushing the employee to the ground. He then running off with a couple bags of the stolen items. Shortly after in a nearby area, the suspect was located by police and identified to be a 49-year-old male. He was arrested and taken into custody for the offence of robbery. The employee was not seriously injured and most of the property from the store was recovered. The suspect was held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Warrants

Between the dates of January 6, 2022 and January 9, 2022 various officers from the Brockville Police Service located and arrest four different individuals who all had outstanding arrest warrants. The warrants were for the offences of failing to comply with probation or failing to attend court. With the four arrested, two were released with a new court date and the other two met the criteria to be held for a bail hearing as the warrants were unendorsed. 

January 4 – 6, 2022 News Release

RIDE Program

On January 4, 2022 at about 10:30PM, officers from the Brockville Police Service conducted a RIDE program where approximately 50 vehicles were stopped and drivers assessed for their sobriety. During the event there were multiple Provincial Offence charges issued. Three pertaining to the Highway Traffic Act and one Cannabis Control Act charge. No one was found to be driving while impaired.  

 

Warrants

On January 4, 2022 at about 9:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint about a suspicious female in the area of Wall St. Officers attended and located a 33-year-old female in the area who matched the description. The female was seeking shelter in the area. Investigation revealed that she had an outstanding warrant for her arrest in relation to a charge of failing to comply with probation. She was arrested and later released with a future court date once shelter was provided.

Further; 

On January 5, 2022 at about 4:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received information from the Kingston Police Service that they had arrested a 37-year-old male on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with probation issued here in Brockville. The male was brought to the Brockville Police service where the warrant was executed and he was held for a bail hearing.

Further;

On January 6, 2022 at about 12:30AM, the Brockville Police Service received a noise complaint coming from a residence on Brock St. Officers arrived and found a 45-year-old male and a 34-year-old female in the residence both involved in the use of drugs. The female involved was eventually taken to the hospital regarding concerns of a possible overdose. Investigation revealed that both the male and female had outstanding bench warrants for failing to attend court. They were both processed and held for their respective bail hearings.

 

 

 

 

 

 

January 1 – 4, 2022 News Release

Bail Violation

On January 1, 2022 at about 10:15AM, officers of the Brockville Police Service conducted a traffic stop on Buell St. There were two occupants in the vehicle. There was a female driver and the passenger was a 46-year-old male who was the registered owner of the vehicle. Investigation revealed that this male was on an undertaking with conditions to abstain from communicating with the female due to safety concerns. The male was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing for the offence of fail to comply with undertaking.

 

Warrant

On January 1, 2022 at about 9:30PM, officers from the Brockville Police Service located a male sitting in a vehicle in the area of Centennial Rd. The vehicle was obstructing traffic. The officer identified the male and he was 31 years of age. It was found that the male had a bench warrant for his arrest for failing to attend court. He was arrested and later released with a new court date.    

 

Assault with a Weapon

On January 2, 2022 at about 7:45PM, the Brockville Police Service responded to a disturbance call on George St. The call was involving three females in a dispute over parking spaces. When the dispute escalated, one of the females involved threw a knife at the other two females. Investigation determined that a 33-year-old female was responsible for the assault. She was arrested and taken into custody. She was later released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date.
