Refusal of Roadside Screening for Alcohol:

A female has been charged for refusing to provide a breath sample. On April 3, 2022 at about 12:30AM, the Brockville Police Service performed a traffic stop in the North area of Brockville on a white Dodge Journey. Investigation revealed that there was an odour of alcohol coming from the 53-year-old, female drivers breath. The officers demanded a sample of her breath to determine the concentration of alcohol in her blood. The female refused to provide the sample. As a result, she was charged with refuse to comply with demand, her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for 7 days. She was released with a future court date.

 

Domestic Assault:

A male has been charged with assault after a domestic dispute. On April 5, 2022 at about 2:00AM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a domestic dispute in the area of Front Ave. Officers arrived on scene and an investigation revealed that a 26-year-old male had assaulted his girlfriend after they engaged in an argument. They had both gotten into a vehicle which is where a small struggle ensued, resulting in the female being bitten. The injuries are described as minor. The male was arrested and charged with assault. He was released on conditions with a  future court date.
