Bail Violations

While on patrol late yesterday morning a Brockville Police officer observed a 24 year old woman and her 26 year old boyfriend in a vehicle together contrary to their release conditions.

At 11:20 a.m. yesterday morning the officer spotted the couple in a vehicle together in the parking lot on Parkedale Avenue east. The couple was known to the officer and further investigation showed the 24 year old woman was released from custody in February on a Recognizance of Bail, the result of a domestic incident, with a condition that she has no communication with the 26 year old man.

As a result, the woman was taken into custody and charged with breaching her recognizance and released from custody with several conditions and a future court date.

Domestic Charges

Shortly after 7 p.m. last evening, officers responded to a complaint of a domestic disturbance at a Stewart Boulevard residence.

The victim told police she and her husband had been arguing about a family matter when a physical altercation took place prompting the police to be called. When officers arrived the couple was separated and no longer arguing. Both were spoken to and it was confirmed the argument had turned physical.

As a result a 74 year old Brockville man was taken into custody and is now facing charges of domestic assault in relation to the incident. He was briefly held in custody before being released with a future court date. The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.
