August 15 – 16, 2019 Incidents

Motor Vehicle Collisions:

August 16, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. the Brockville Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision at Centennial Road and Stewart Boulevard.  A pickup truck was south bound on Stewart Blvd. making a left hand turn on the advanced green light to east bound Centennial Road.  A north bound Saturn failed to stop at the red light and collided with the pickup truck.  The two occupants of the Saturn were transported to Brockville General Hospital for their non-life threatening injuries.  The investigation is continuing and witnesses are asked to contact Cst. Serge Landry at 613-342-0127 ext. 6067.

This accident required several lane closures so that emergency personnel could attend to the vehicles safely.  We appreciate the public’s patience when dealing with these emergencies.

A second collision occurred while officers were dealing with the above incident.  Two vehicles were south bound on Stewart Blvd. near the Hyundai dealership.  A small SUV slowed for traffic and was rear ended by a white 4 door Hyundai.  There were not any injuries as a result of this collision, but the Hyundai had to be towed from the scene.  Officers managed to keep both north and south bound traffic moving although at a reduced speed.

A third collision today at 12:20 p.m. also caused some minor delays.  This accident occurred at Stewart Blvd. and Jefferson Drive.  A red pickup truck failed to yield the right of way. The pickup was travelling south bound on Stewart Blvd. and turned left across Stewart Blvd in front of a north bound van.  The collision sent the van into a parked Honda Civic, then up onto the sidewalk on the north east corner.  All parties were treated for their minor injuries at the scene by emergency personnel.  The driver of the red pickup truck was charged with “left turn failing to afford reasonable opportunity to avoid a collision.”
