Collision leads to Impaired Driving Charges

A 32 year old Brockville area woman is facing impaired driving charges in relation to a motor vehicle collision early last evening on Ormond Street near the intersection of Bramshot Avenue.

Brockville Police, Fire and Leeds Grenville EMS were called to the intersection at approximately 6:30 pm last evening after receiving several calls. It was learned that one of the vehicles travelling southbound on Ormond Street had crossed over into the northbound lanes and struck the northbound vehicle head-on.

Several young passengers in the woman’s vehicle were checked and were uninjured. The male driver of the other vehicle however was taken to Brockville General Hospital by ambulance and treated for injuries suffered in the collision.

Officers at the scene found the woman to be under the influence of alcohol and as a result, placed her under arrest for impaired driving. She was conveyed to Brockville Police Headquarters and provided breath samples over the legal limit. She was released from custody with a court date and served with an automatic 90 day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS).
