January 22 – 23, 2020 News Release

Warrants:

On January 22nd at 5:15 p.m. a 51 year old male was arrested on his outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.  The male was located by officers on routine patrol.  The male was before the courts for being in possession of a controlled substance from an incident in February of 2019.  He failed to re-attend court to answer to deal with the matter and a warrant was issued.  He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Shoplifting and warrant:

On the 22nd of January at 8:30 p.m. the Brockville Police Service responded to a complaint of a shoplifter at Walmart.  The 19 year old male had been arrested by loss prevention officers.  Officers continued the arrest and discovered that the male was also intoxicated by alcohol.  He was brought to the Brockville Police Service, lodged in the cells so a friend could be contacted.  He was charged with theft and released with a future court date.

A 20 year old male attended the police service to retrieve his friend.  The only problem was that this male had a warrant for his arrest from 2018 for mischief and possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose.  He was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing.
