January 3 – 6, 2020 News Release

Theft:

On the 3rd of January at 6:30 a.m. officers located a 48 year old male outside of the Brockville Police Service.  The male had a warrant for his arrest stemming from a theft occurrence in December of 2019.  He was arrested without incident and released with a future court date.

 

Drug Offences:

A 29 year old female was arrested at court Friday morning for several breaches of a bail condition.  A search incident to arrest led to further a charge of being in possession of a controlled substance.  She was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

Theft:

A 51 year old male and a 68 year old female were arrested by officers at Walmart on Friday morning for theft under $5000.  The suspects were observed by staff concealing several items on their person that they had removed from the packaging.  Police were contacted and arrested the accused persons in the store.  They were charged and will appear in court at a later date.

Stolen Vehicle:

On Friday morning just before 2:00 p.m. the Brockville Police were contacted by the OPP stating that their officers had followed a stolen vehicle into the city losing sight of it near Walmart on Parkedale Ave.  Our officers located the suspect vehicle abandoned at Home Depot.  The suspects shoe was discovered near that vehicle.  A male was located near the vehicle now wearing new footwear.  The male had fled the vehicle, which was stolen from the London area, and actually purchased new shoes as he had ran out of his. The male was arrested by the OPP in relation to the vehicle.

 

Warrants:

On the 4th of January 2020 at 9:50 p.m. an officer from the Brockville Police Service stopped a vehicle for speeding 30 km/h over the posted speed limit on Laurier Blvd.  The 54 year old driver had a warrant for his arrest for a serious criminal offence from Durham Regional Police.  The male was turned over to Durham for those charges.
