Impaired Driver

A Grant Street homeowner returned home early yesterday afternoon to find a landscaper he had hired for his property appeared to be well under the influence of alcohol.

Brockville Police responded to the residence at approximately 2:10 p.m. after the homeowner had confronted the 41 year old man whom he had hired as a landscaper about his drinking. He asked the man not to leave in his vehicle however the man was uncooperative and did anyway prior to police arriving. Twenty minutes later a second call was received about this same man now on George Street in Brockville where police were able to locate him.

The Prescott area man was placed under arrest for impaired driving and conveyed to Brockville Police headquarters where he refused to provide officers with a breath sample. As a result he was charged with impaired driving and refusal to provide a breath sample. He was held in custody until he was sober and released with a future court date.

 

Stolen Vehicle Arrest 

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. last evening Brockville Police received a report of a stolen vehicle from a King Street West residence. Attending officers learned the black 2014 Nissan was last seen earlier in the morning in the parking lot and the keys had been taken from inside the residence of the house.

While on patrol, officers spotted the vehicle in the parking lot of a Fairknowe Drive building with a 38 year old Brockville woman in the driver’s seat. Investigators learned the woman was the sister of the vehicles owner and she also had an outstanding warrant for failing to appear for her fingerprint date earlier in July.

As a result she was arrested and charged for taking a motor vehicle without owner’s consent and failing to appear for fingerprints and given a future court date.
