In a 48 hour period from the 3rd of July to the 5th of July 2019, officers responded to 100 calls for service. This included 3 apprehensions under the mental health act, 6 traffic collisions, 4 theft complaints (shoplifting), domestics and an impaired.
Impaired:
On the 4th of July 2019 a 33 year old female was stopped while operating her vehicle on Garden St. The officers stopping the vehicle detected signs of impairment by drug. The female subsequently submitted to tests conducted by a drug recognition expert to which she failed. She was charged with impaired operation by drug and possession of a controlled substance. Her vehicle was impounded for 7 days and her driver’s licence suspended for 90 days.
