Head-on Collision on King Street

Two Brockville women were taken to Brockville General Hospital late yesterday afternoon as a result of a head-on collision on King Street East.

Shortly after 5:00 p.m. yesterday Brockville Police were called to area of King Street East and Orchard Streets when a westbound black Ford minivan which was being driven by a 17 year old Brockville woman struck an eastbound Volkswagen being driven by an 18 year old woman from the Mallorytown area.

Both the driver of the Volkswagen and a 33 year old female passenger in the minivan were conveyed to Brockville General with minor injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has information is asked to contact the investigating officer Constable Dave Jeggo at 613-342-0127 ext. 6078.

 

Impaired Driving arrest

A concerned motorist contacted police after she observed a vehicle driving erratically in the city’s north end which resulted in a traffic stop and charges of impaired driving.

The caller observed a silver Honda making several driving infractions and operating at various speeds before contacting police with the location and licence number of the vehicle. Police in the area were able to catch up with the Honda near the intersection on Stewart Blvd at Jefferson Drive. Upon speaking with the driver, officers detected an odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath and conveyed him to police headquarters for breath tests.

After providing breath samples, the 59 year old Addison area man was charged with impaired driving and driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. He was released and given a future court date.
