Family Dispute/weapons

On the 28th of March 2021 shortly after 12:00 PM officers responded to a residence in the center of the city for a family dispute.   A 17 year old youth was arrested for damaging a door at the residence.  The male damaged the door after an argument with family members and then armed himself with a machete and locked himself in a room.  Officers began a dialogue with the male deescalating the situation.  The male surrendered to officers and has been charged with mischief and weapon offences.  He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Bail violations

A 17 year old male was arrested on March 27th at 6:00 AM when he was located near King Street East and Oxford Ave.  The male was subject of a release order with a curfew.  He was arrested, charged and turned over to a family member.

On March 27th at 12:30 PM a 16 year old male was arrested outside of the Brockville General Hospital after family members called about the young person’s behaviour.  The male was on a release order and was found to be in breach of his conditions.  He was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply.  He was later relapsed from custody with a new court date.

Bail violations

On March 27th, 2021 at 10:50 PM a 45 year old male was arrested and charged for theft and failing to comply with a release order.  Officers were called for a complaint of a theft from the “Warming Ctr” after the male left the shelter with some property.  He was located a short distance away and arrested.  He was held in custody for a bail hearing, but was released by the courts on a new releases order with a future court date.
