Driving

Just after midnight on May 15th, 2020 the Brockville Police observed a vehicle on Stewart Boulevard at an extremely high speed.  A 26 year old male from Lyn was behind the wheel when police caught up with him.  The radar registered 138 km/hr in the 60 km/hr zone.  As a result the driver was charged with stunt driving for being 50 km/hr above the speed limit, his car was impounded for seven days and his licence automatically suspended for seven days.  In addition the driver was also charged for not having plates or insurance on the vehicle.

 

Drugs

On May 15th, 2020 at 01:30 hours the Brockville Police observed a male lying on the sidewalk near King Street West and John Street.  When the 28 year old noticed an officer approaching, he threw several items out of his pocket.  Police recovered drugs believed to be fentanyl, crystal meth and cocaine.  He was charged with three counts of possession of a substance contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.  The Brockville resident of no fixed address was released from custody with a future court date.
