On-Line Criminal Record Checks

Chief of Brockville Police, Scott Fraser announced today the Brockville Police has adopted a new electronic process for assisting in the completion of criminal record checks. This addition to the current process means our citizens will now have the option of completing the whole application process on-line from within the comforts of their own home. They will not have to visit police headquarters to start the process and may never have to attend the police station at all – unless the application requires something further, like fingerprints.

An applicant will be invited to complete an online form, dependent on the type of check required and submit their application on-line. The electronic nature of the system allows for expedited service with most checks completed within a 15 minute time period. The results sent electronically to the applicant via email. Whereas in the past, applicants had to come in and have their ID verified and then return to pick up their completed criminal record check.

There is an electronic administration fee charged for the use of this new system which was developed under the auspices of a standing MOU with Triton Canada Inc. Our citizens will continue to have the option of making an in-person application to Brockville Police Headquarters at 2269 Parkedale Avenue, Brockville, Ontario during the hours Monday to Friday 9:00am until 5:00pm.
