Shoplifter at Winners

On the 16th September, 2017 at approximately 9:15 a.m., the Brockville Police Service attended a complaint of an internal theft at a North end department store. A local, 49 year old male employee at the store, was caught on video removing cash from other employee’s purses. He was arrested on site and issued a fine under the Trespass to Property Act as the amount of money was minor. The theft that occurred today was of $20.00 and was returned to the victim.

 

Cause Disturbance

On the 15th September, 2017 at approximately 5:45 p.m., the Brockville Police Service attended the area of a North End Shopping Centre in regards to a male shouting, looking in vehicles and exhibiting bizarre behaviour. Officers recognized the male suspect in question to be a local, 24 year old male who is known to police. When officers approached the male to check on him, he ran into a nearby store knocking over property inside. With that accompanied by all of his shouting and swearing in the public place, officers placed him under arrest for causing the disturbance. Officer’s observed that the male portrayed symptoms of being under the influence of a narcotic substance which contributed to the bizarre behaviour. He was held until family could take custody of him. He was issued charges of cause disturbance and breaching his probation.
