September 16 – 18, 2016 Incidents

Mischief to Vehicles

On September 16th at 7:53 am, Brockville Police attended a north end apartment complex for a mischief complaint.

Three different vehicles had one of the front tires slashed over night. There are no suspects at this time but the investigation remains ongoing.

 

Weapon Charges

On September 16th at 11:46 am, Brockville Police received a complaint of a man waving around a gun while walking on Central Avenue West.

A witness described the gun as a toy but the man held it in his hand while the witness was speaking to him. The subject did not point the plastic gun at him. Officers arrested the local 33 year old as people in the area were very concerned. A search of his person along with a bag he was carrying turned up, razor blades, various narcotics, the plastic hand gun, gloves, screwdrivers, knives, a red cell phone and a Tom Tom GPS. He was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking, weapons dangerous and possession of break-in instruments. The drugs included morphine and marijuana. The accused was held in custody and will appear in bail court.

 

Domestic/Breaches

On September 16th at 10:56 pm, Brockville Police attended a domestic dispute at a south end apartment building.

The 52 year old, female resident, wanted her 56 year old boyfriend removed from the home. Officers noted both parties had been drinking. He was breaching a probation order as a result and she was breaching an undertaking for outstanding charges. They found themselves arrested and charged then escorted to the Police station.

When sober, both accused were issued paperwork for a future court date and released on conditions.

 

Mental Health

On September 17th at 12:33 am, Brockville Police learned a local 21 year old female was texting a family member indicating she may cause self harm. Officers attended the north end residence of the woman and apprehended her under the Mental Health Act. She was escorted to hospital for appropriate treatment.

 

Break and Enter

On September 17th at 10:00 am, Brockville Police received a complaint from a vendor on Blockhouse Island. Set up for the Tall Ships festivities, sometime during the night, a booth was entered and a quantity of bed sheets and pants were stolen.

 

Bail Violation

On September 17th at 6:33 pm, Brockville Police received information concerning a local 55 year old man contacting his 76 year old sister, breaching his undertaking as a result.

In early August, he was charged with an assault against her and released on conditions including no contact with the victim. The man was not located at the time of the incident and Officers are looking to speak with him.

 

Threats

On September 18th at 10:54 am, Brockville Police received a threatening complaint from a local 32 year old man. He indicated his ex-girlfriend had threatened him through text messaging.

Early in the summer, the local 34 year old woman had been charged with assault and released on conditions. Keeping the peace and maintaining good behaviour was one of them. She was charged with breaching the conditions of her undertaking and released with a future court date.

 

Mental Health

On September 18th at 11:02 am, Brockville Police dealt with a local 61 year old man on King Street West. Officers on general patrol observed the subject wearing only briefs and pink socks on his lower half. He was escorted to hospital for appropriate care.
