April 4 – 5, 2016 Incidents

Weapons Offences

On April 4th at 5:57 pm, Brockville Police took a complaint of a confrontation on a south end street involving a knife.

A local, 50 year old male, stopped his truck and got out to confront three youths walking on the roadway. Two of the youths walked away from the man but the third teen pulled a knife from his waist area and pointed it at the older male before leaving the scene.

Officers arrested and charged the local, 17 year old, after investigation revealed his identity. He is now charged with assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous to the public. The youth was released on conditions and issued a future court date.

 

Warrant

On April 5th at 1:28 pm, Brockville Police attended the town of Gananoque to pick up a prisoner. Our Service held a warrant for the arrest of the local, 33 year old male. Officers in Gananoque observed the male while he was a passenger in a cab and were aware of the warrant.

In early November of 2015, Brockville Police investigated a domestic assault complaint in which the man was wanted for assault, forcible confinement and breach of probation. The accused was charged at that time but his surety had removed themselves at court as the male was not abiding by his release conditions. He was held in custody and will appear in bail court.

 

Thefts

On April 5th at 1:58 pm, Brockville Police attended a north end department store for a theft complaint.

A local, 45 year old male, was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000.00. He was released at the scene with a future court date.

At 3:40 pm., Brockville Police attended another north end store for a theft complaint.

A local, 19 year old male, was arrested for the theft. However, he was also on a probation order as well as court conditions for outstanding charges yet to be dealt with. The young man now faces charges of theft, breach of probation and breach of the conditions of his undertaking. He was released on further conditions with a future court date.

 

Community Service

On April 5th at 3:42 pm., Brockville Police attended a north end apartment complex to apprehend a local man.

The 64 year old, had a medical order issued for his attendance to local hospital. People close to the man were concerned about his mental health and sought the order so he could receive appropriate care. Officers escorted the man to hospital without incident and left him in the care of medical staff.
