April 9 – 11, 2016 Incidents

Domestic Dispute

On April 9th at 4:30 am, Brockville Police attended a domestic dispute in a south end apartment complex.

A local, 60 year old female, was in a heated dispute with a male. The problem was the female was under court conditions not to communicate with the man, not to consume alcohol as well as a requirement to keep the peace.

The woman had been drinking which was evident when she spoke with Officers at the scene. She was arrested and charged with three counts of breaching conditions of her release. Video remand court took place later that same morning and the woman was held in custody pending bail court.

 

Unwanted Person

On April 9th at 2:55 am, Brockville Police attended a south end residence for an unwanted person.

A local, 35 year old man, was intoxicated and knocking on the door of the house indicating he was lost. Officers did not believe the man was capable of looking after himself. He was arrested for public intoxication and released later when sober with a fine.

 

Traffic Stop

On April 9th at 6:41 pm, Brockville Police received a complaint of a female motorist driving erratically on a south end street.

Officers stopped the vehicle and discovered the issue was a medical one for the local, 62 year old woman. An ambulance was called and she was taken to hospital for appropriate care. Police have no information as to her status after she was taken from the scene.

 

Domestic Dispute

On April 10th at 1:20 pm, Brockville Police attended the parking lot of a north end box store for a domestic dispute.

A local, 20 year old female, became involved in an argument with her 22 year old boyfriend. She decided to exit his vehicle to leave the area on foot. Her boyfriend grabbed her around the neck area and then by one of her legs to prevent her from leaving. The young woman managed to get out of the vehicle and walked away.  She was followed first on foot and then approached by him in his car, as he yelled at her to get back in the vehicle. When Officers arrived, the man had left the area.

At the station, the victim reported an assault from earlier in the week which involved her hair being pulled. The young man also threatened to kill both her and himself.

The accused attended the Police station at the request of Police later in the afternoon. He was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and uttering threats. As a result, the man was held in custody and will appear in bail court later. The victim received minor injuries as a result of the assaults.

 

Warrant

On April 11th at 1:41 am, Brockville Police stopped a motor vehicle to speak to the driver about an outstanding issue.

A male passenger, from the Rideau Ferry area, was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest from our Service. The 47 year old, was arrested for failing to attend court and failing to attend for fingerprints. His original charge was for theft.

The local man was held in custody and will appear in bail court.
