On March 11, Brockville Police responded to a serious assault complaint at the intersection of Pearl St. W. and William St.
An 18 year old female was in a confrontation with a 19 year old male who was an ex-boyfriend. The male produced a knife and struck the female in the face resulting in a laceration. The victim then entered a nearby business and Police were notified. The accused was located by Police shortly after and faces charges of aggravated assault and weapons dangerous. He will appear in bail court.
The victim was taken to the Brockville General Hospital and later transferred to Kingston. Her injuries were not life threatening. The Brockville Police Forensic Identification Unit attended the scene to gather evidence. Our K-9 Unit attended as well to assist in locating the knife involved in the attack. It was found after searching the area nearby.
